Lunch was extremely marginal — food looked very fried and bread for sandwiches was just white hoagie rolls. Our waitress, while sweet, was pretty unprofessional. She was clearly sucking on a tic tac while she took our order and her apron was very dirty. Nice location and ambiance but would pick any of the other HR lunch spots before I return.

My friend and I popped in about 7:00PM. Newcomers to town we have sampled at least 4 restaurants. This is the best this far. We were seated right away. No reservation, on a Tuesday evening. The place was hopping. The ambiance was great, so was our mixologist. Service perfect. We ordered a first, main and soup. All were excellent. Highlight was Rib Eye Medium rare, perfectly done. The shaved asparagus salad was a treat and that selection was a pure shot-in-the dark. Very happy, price worth the delicious meal.

We loved Ceilio. From our appetizers of cheese and cured meats, to our entrees of steak, purple potatoes and sautéed spinach; everything was delicious. The staff was excellent! They helped with wine recommendations and accommodated us with regards to food preparation due to dietary restrictions. If you’re in the area, You’ll be missing out if you don’t try Ceilio!

Avoid at all costs — possibly one of the worst lunches I have had.

Great wine list, food and atmosphere. Great location for visiting after an afternoon at SpringHouse down the hill and as a simple jump across the street from Hood River hotel.

Wow this place was awesome! I got a black bean burger and the smoked trout spread. Both were very tasty and I was very pleased with my experience. We will be back!

Uh-mazing! I wish all our evenings out were as pleasing as a night at Celilo! The wine selection was fabulous! The Old Fashioned was the best my husband has ever enjoyed. And, of course, the food… Wow! Fennel dusted razor clams for an appetizer were the best clams we’ve ever enjoyed. The asparagus soup was rich but not overwhelming, perfectly accented by a mint infused oil drizzle. The Chinook salmon over greens with a dollop of pesto was fantastic. My husband raved about the chorizo and seafood skillet, which I seconded after I had a taste. As if that wasn’t perfect enough, we went for the volcano cake for dessert, and man am I glad we did. It was lavishly delectable. Just a perfect evening during our weekend get away to Hood River.

You have got to be kidding me. This place is insane. I have come here numerous times and they just keep impressing. From the bartender to the chef and all the way to the hostess, they are just an overall happy and exquisite group. Their drinks are amazing and the food is to die for. It’s not very often that I go to a place and just order a drink just to see the happiness on everyone’s face after their first bite. Insane is an understatement. The correct word should be «Perfect».

Celilo catered my son’s rehearsal dinner in April 2016 and we were extremely pleased with the food and the arrangements. We ordered paella as the main course, which was not part of their regular menu, and Chef Ben came through with the most amazing dish served in a paella pan that really made a statement! Catering manager Heather was a huge help in organizing the menu and setting up the venue and the team from servers to bar staff were very professional. Received many positive comments from our guests.

Reservations were booked for Valentine’s Day dinner, so we grabbed dinner and drinks at the bar. The bartender was so nice and really put the time and effort into his drinks. All three drinks we tried were great! The food was good, the lamb was very tender, the scallops were good but kind of over priced at $ 28 for 4 medium-sized scallops. Just my opinion. The atmosphere was very nice and romantic.

Fantastic Food! We had the special this night,.Mussels w/fennel and it was so good, I never cared to try mussels but outside of it sounding amazing, it was! Which brought us to choose the oyster, shrimp, scallop bake, came in a cast iron skillet,., over a toasted orzo, amazing, the flavor a would not stop! Our waiter was perfect in timing and serving us, we love that! We did a to go for dessert which also sounded amazing, yet I would not know because I fell asleep early to wake up to them all being devoured by my husband,. Must have been excellent because there is not even a crumb or morsel in sight to nibble! We will be back for sure!

My husband had the $ 30 steak, which to him was just«okay», and the two bites he let me try were both very fatty. I got the gnocchi, and was very disappointed. It had so much sauce, I had to pick through it to find the few that were actually in there, and they were okay, but not great. When someone came to clear out dishes, they actually asked if I wanted a box for the rest of my meal, but the plate only had sauce on it! The pomegranate cider was good. That was the only saving grace.

I always try to post positive reviews but had to share how disappointed I was with my experience tonight at Celilo. We went there based on the positive Unilocal and NYT reviews. They kindly sat us earlier than our 7:00 reservation so maybe be that is why the service was so sketchy. My starter was the evening special — a melon prosciutto platter which was very good although there was just one piece of prosciutto… My entrée was the gnocchi and I couldn’t eat it due to the overwhelming cardomom flavor. Sadly though — no one ever noticed or asked about my meal. My husbands chicken dinner was just okay. I enjoyed his veggies. It was a Monday night. Maybe they were understaffed, but I was very disappointed in this dining experience.

We stopped in here for lunch during our day trip to the Columbia River Gorge. I ordered the sirloin burger with bleu cheese and mixed greens. It was very good and filling. The décor used nice wood throughout and the bar was nice. Service was friendly, too.

Every time I come to Portland, I almost expect good food. Happy to report — that even venturing an hour and a half outside of Portland that you can still find a great meal. The staff was warm and inviting as well — without being too stuffy as the ambiance/décor might suggest. I ordered the Paella as my main course which was served on a mini cast iron skillet, had a nice spice kick to it, along with a nice arrangement of shrimp, chorizo, and clams in it. It wasn’t too big of a portion either. The pork cheek sliders were amazing too!

Delicious. Was offered a nice glass of sparkling wine upon arrival. Had the clams as well as the meat and cheese plate for starters. Ordered the Pork Trio… AMENTOTHAT! Belly, Loin, and Braised shoulder. This dish was amazing. I would highly recommend it to anyone who likes meat. We accompanied our dinner with a nice bottle of Ken Wright Pinot Noir.

This is one of the best restaurants in Hood River as well as the rest of the world. Chef Ben Stenn is knowledgeable and knows how to execute in the kitchen all across the board. His staff is on point! This place is a must and it’s also has a great ambience for family, friends and lovers. Hats off to Celilo. 2 thumbs up.

My boyfriend and I went here for dinner on a Tuesday night. It was amazing. Super cute inside since it was the week of Christmas, there were white Christmas lights on the railings which I liked a lot. He had the chicken which he said was really good, I had the sugo pasta and it was amazing. I ate it all. Our drinks were tasty(he had the blood orange martini and I have the pear purée brandy with champagne) and our service was excellent. I will definitely be back!
