We stopped in for drinks post dinner and the cocktails are wonderful. My wife was stunned by the textures jumping out from her pear martini as I was with the undertones of my salzarac. Definitely on our list for our next Hood River trip.

Our goal this evening was to take a walking tour of Hood River and visit three different establishments. We had hoped to do some wine tasting, eat dinner, and then finish with cocktails and dessert. Brian’s Pourhouse was our final stop for the evening. We enjoyed drinks and desert. Great atmosphere, and the flourless torte and salted caramel ice cream were delicious. The table was covered with paper and we were provided with crayons for a bit of added fun. We would go back.

This is perhaps a much better watering hole than a restaurant. The cocktails and wine were great, but the food was average. Stay away from the fried appetizers; the temperature on the oil must have been low, because they came out greasy and overcooked in each case. The service was stand-offish and moody. I got the clear impression that they were unhappy about having customers to serve.

Nice atmosphere and great service. We had a group of 14 and they were awesome with us. 4 stars because the food was mixed — some of our meals were excellent and a few others not so great. A little lack of flavor. Need to spice it up a little.

Sitting at the absolute worst table in the house, after specifically requesting a special seating for two anniversary celebrations, could we please have something nice. Hmmmm … Here for 27 minutes… No drinks yet?! Stay tuned. Hopefully it will improve. Final thoughts post meal… Disappointing. Terrible service, Cold steak, missing lobster in the lobster Louie, incredibly chewy calamari. Just never got any better. Manager did try to make it better at the end with some celebratory champagne, just a little too late. I don’t think we will return.

Don’t let the white tablecloths scare you away. This place is very sexy, yet casual and comfortable. My friend and I just enjoyed a great evening watching the Seahawks game at the bar. It was a great time! The bartender, servers, chef, and owner were all very welcoming. We sat at the bar and by the end of the evening we felt like we had made new friends. Our bartender was a true professional! My pink grapefruit rosemary martini was beautiful and delicious. The menu has something to offer for all tastes. I had the braised pork shank served with savory bread pudding(you had me at bread pudding) and a seasonal squash. It was a party in my mouth! My friend had the steak frites with chimichurri sauce. She was not disappointed. Her steak was cooked perfectly and melted in the mouth. At one point the chef came over and asked us how we liked our meals. He shared with me how he prepared the pork and identified the mystery spice I couldn’t quite identify. I always enjoy getting to chat with the chef and get a few good cooking tips. If lived in Hood River, I would be a regular at this restaurant. In the meantime, I will look forward to my next visit!

The food here was pretty good. My boyfriend and I are«foodys» and for our weekly date nights we always pick a different restaurant in town. Brian was very accommodating and VERYCLEAN. Which I really enjoyed. We got the best of both worlds: fancy yet laid back. The food was good, I had a cheesesteak… bread was soft and fresh. The only complaint was I had called prior and asked if they had any seats with a view(I was going to reserve them) the gentleman was very accommodating and Said yes… however when I got there and we were seated we had no view what so ever… we you had to stand to see the top of the mountain over a patio… however not a huge deal. Don’t let that discourage you… try this place not only for their good food… but also their hospitable staff

I found the place to be very overpriced for what you get. The flavors were nice, fish tacos were a bit dry my drink was very tiny. I had one drink two tacos and paid about $ 30 with the tip and I actually left hungry. That’s just not my style. There are many places where I can get a good meal and a couple of cocktails for that amount of money and there was nothing unusual about the food that made me feel like it will be a destination for me in the future as there are some other restaurants in Hood River that serve great food at reasonable prices. I also found that the noise level was too high but that the table and lighting were more on the romantic side so the atmosphere was awkward. All in all it was an all right experience because I do like to check out different places but this one’s not going to stand out for me as a repeat because although the flavors were nice I just didn’t feel great about the value and leaving hungry. A date night might be more appropriate on a quieter night.

Went in last night for a quick dinner. We had a burger and the beef Provençal — both were excellent! We sat at the bar and had excellent service that complemented a cozy atmosphere. We are only disappointed that we haven’t come in sooner.

6 visits here, to date… and I’m not sure why people recommend or revisit. I live in the neighborhood, and that’s my only excuse. Soggy, cold, over-cooked brussel sprouts. Half-fat steak. Chewy calamari. And, I am not sure if the risk these guys take with food combining is considered adventurous or happenstance, but the specials tend to be hit-and-miss — amazing… or wtf. It’s time someone said something. And why serve $ 30 plates of food, while sports are blasting at the bar to the left of you. You need to decide who you want to cater to.

Stopped in after a very long day viewing waterfalls on the trail, not knowing if we were going with drinks and an appetizer, or staying for dinner. We ordered rosemary grapefruit drop martinis and calmari. Both were super good, and all the more cherished after waiting for what seemed an inordinate amount of time. It probably had something to do with the special party downstairs.

Went to eat here in early July. We had bread and a Caesar salad for appetizers. Then had rainbow trout and salmon dinner. Was absolutely delicious! I would highly recommend the rainbow trout.

Great place to sit outside and have a mixed drink. Nice drink menu. Had a wedge salad and calamari. Calamari was soft and not that crispy. Salad was just okay. Great atmosphere but limited menu.

My husband surprised me with a little Hood River getaway, and our first stop was dinner. We sat on the patio which was quiet and romantic. The lights strung overhead were a lovely touch. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable, and we were seated right away. My husband ordered the cheese burger with bacon. He really enjoyed it. The bacon was crispy, cheese was melted, bun was great! He also ordered the margarita and was really happy with it. Fresh! I got the fish tacos and was extremely happy I did. Best fish tacos outside of Ensenada Mexico. And I am a fish tack connoisseur! The chips and salsa that accompanied them were really great too. I got the HR Tea to drink and it was very refreshing on a hot day. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience here. Thanks to the staff at Stonehedge for recommending we come here!

Agreed that prices are too much. Service slow, no water or check in. Not impressed. Food and wine is excellent, but 75 minutes in with no meal!

Came here for a quick early dinner, was seeking something light and fresh. I had a flavorful steak salad. The meat was tender and cooked to perfection. The base was a nice blend of fresh greens sprinkled with a rich blue cheese sauce and crumbles. Excellent setting, polite and friendly staff. The rest of the menu looked delicious. Good selection of local beer I had the Pallet Jack IPA from Barley Brown’s.

We loved the food but still can not get over how amazing the customer service was. We were offered immediate seating or to wait a few moments for ideal; servers we professional(«how is your first course“versus the typical«is everything ok” — as if you dine out for«ok»)educated on the menu and offerings; and our table was kept clean. House special drinks, meals etc. We ate later in the evening but I imagine the sunset seating is beautiful.

What a small, local restaurant should be. One of the best bars in town, staffed by adept mixologists. Best Sazerac I’ve had. We dine here often with our five and two year old, who occasionally act their ages! The staff is always patient and accommodating, and seating is available away from other diners. And a good selection of mocktails lets the kids feel«grown up»(the Bitter Mayor is a big favorite) The food is always seasonally appropriate, freshly prepared and well-presented. We rarely try the same thing twice, as the specials change weekly. Never had a bad meal here. One item we order without fail is the fresh baguette, served with sides of butter and salt. Extraordinarily simple, conventional French Bistro fare, yet uncommon enough to be special and satisfying to this family with small boys. In all, our favorite spot downtown Hood River.

It was a good place to stop after a day of wine tasting in such a pretty city. I had the fish tacos, and they weren’t bad, just not the best I’ve had. They have nice outdoor seating, but they were out of the ravioli which I really wanted. The seating is a little crowded, but overall not a bad experience. Sit outside if you can.
