This Place is Amazing! BUT PLEASE READ THRU… Thank goodness for Kulie who made me feel so at Home and comfortable from my first day! I frequent the Starbucks often and out of any Starbucks I’ve ever been to, anywhere, this woman has the most Spirit! Caring so much about the accurateness of my drink (I have a healthful, special self-​created combination,)not making me feel like a total burden, but kindly and attentively preparing my special drink and even remembering it whenever I come in. Not only is this a healthful safe and convenient place to relax or work on studies (usually…) but the Starbucks team at Kahala offers the sort of customer service and tentativeness and happiness that I’ve never known another Starbucks to convey or is difficult to find. Such a good atmosphere promoted by these individuals to feel good about yourself! Sarah is also great and always remembers my drink with attention to detail!

!!! I would give this Coffee Shop a 5 Star rating… but there are a couple creepy guys who lurk around and comment on the female students who study here and I find it to be not only disrespectful, but inappropriate considering this is a public location. One of these men spends a large amount of time at this particular Starbucks, daily and will try to intimidate other guests by saying things like «this is my turf» while simultaneously pointing out and making audible inappropriate and derogatory comments towards other guests, usually female. Unfortunately he has made it such an uncomfortable, awkward, and negative experience for me to overhear his condescending and totally rude comments about other people, particularly women, along with two other men, whether about their weight, physical appearance, etc., that I will no longer be frequenting this Starbucks location and I wish Kulie, Sarah and Team the Best! Its really too bad since Kulie makes every guest seem so welcome! Honestly a lot of baristas will try to make you feel bad for having a complicated order or project some other insecurity on you when ordering and this women is like no other! I genuinely feel supported, comfortable and relieved when she is working/​preparing. She seriously quenches my thirst and appetite with a refreshing creation and does so with joy and kindness that I wish all baristas would employ! Inspires me to come back here every time. I wish I could give this Starbucks the 5 stars it deserves, but unfortunately it is becoming a bit of a fly trap and there are some nasty older males who are perverting the young, upbeat and relaxing social scene. Honestly, I feel if these particular guests are confronted about the issue, the problem may cease and I may be able to offer a better review in the future. However, for now, I will leave this rating as it stands and hope that the issue is resolved. They prey openly on young female guests and make very distasteful, potentially hurtful and often disruptive and disturbing comments. If you are young and enjoy drinking or dining at Starbucks, I recommend you are careful not to dress too noticeably or these men will prey on you and have lengthy conversations at your expense whether you are present or not. It really is killing the whole young, safe, Hawaiian, friendly nourishing vibe they have going at Starbucks Kahala which makes it so unique from all the rest. This is completely disappointing and a real shame. There have even been loud and bothersome arguments… It is totally not inspiring or speaking well of the positive community that the Kahala Starbucks team here offers, or deserves. There is a dark scene that is going on at this location and it needs to be surfaced and recognized, especially since these guests only come at night, every night. Personally, I will not subject myself to further humiliation and participation in the open slandering and vulgar conversation about local male or females.

I come to this Starbucks quite frequently because of a few things, one there is a open table some where in Starbucks or Kahala Mall; unlike at some locations there are no tables. Also the baristas are very efficient and friendly. I also like how its located in Kahala Mall and there is the TWC wifi which is convenient. Not to mention its pretty clean.

One of the fastest starbuck here in Honolulu. All of the workers are fast and nice. There always a line there but the line moves really fast.

Best Starbucks on the island for sure, they have one of the nicest set ups but most of all I love their staff. I normally go to the starbucks near my house in moanalua but find that I’ve actually been over charged there several times. I have a starbucks thermos which is apparently only able to hold a grande, however I’ve been buying ventis for it and no one said anything until I visited the starbucks at kahala mall (it’s been about 2 months now). I ordered a venti but the cashier (forgot to write down his name) was nice enough to inform me the thermos could only hold a grande. This is my new favorite starbucks.

Always excellent service here. They always have a long line, but it moves so quickly and smoothly.

Who serves sweetened iced tea by default? This place! Blech. Asking me how I wanted it would have been nice, after all, you can always add sweetener but you can’t take it out. The line was huge by the time I got my drink, so I threw it out after one sip and left. Whole Foods next door had decent iced tea and didn’t even threaten to get syrup anywhere near it.

This store has the best customer relations and smart phone customers. Refills for members are given as guaranteed. Great social skills and big customer line goes faster than most busy locations.

Worst customer service ever. Cashier too busy talking story with her friend to take any orders. She saw me waiting and just continued talking. So disgusted we left without our coffee.

This is a great Starbucks location! The menu is the same as other Starbucks locations on the mainland or in Hawaii (in Hawaii the menu differs slightly from the menus on the mainland.) My favorite menu item that is only available in Hawaii is the Rolled Oat Cake. A good tip is to order ahead on the Starbucks phone app to avoid waiting in the long line to order in person/​pay. Instead, you simply pick up your drink at the counter!
Sometimes it can be hard to find seating inside this location but there are an ample amount of tables adjacent to the store surrounding the water fountain. There is even more seating outside of the mall if you want to opt for fresh air. The good news is that the free wireless internet extends to all of these areas.
Kahala Mall recently opened a Starbucks drive-​thru. The drive-​thru option is really helpful for those times you don’t feel like finding parking at the mall. Parking can be challenging at certain times of the day or during the holiday season. Don’t be intimidated by the long line of cars in the drive-​thru because the line actually moves very quickly. If you’re really pressed for time there is also a walk up counter attached to the drive-​thru where you can order in person or pick up orders placed on the Starbucks phone app.

I go to the Starbucks whenever I’m at Kahala Mall. There’s usually a line but even when it’s a long line, I find that it moves pretty quickly. I’ve never had to wait very long for my order.
Stopped by today after doing some damage at Fighting Eel and ordered a venti black iced tea with 3 pumps of sweetener (the worker told me that a venti usually gets 6 pumps). It was the perfect amount of sweetness for me!

The staff is so friendly and smiley at this location, especially Mei and Nikki, who displayed excellent customer service.
I feel that most Starbucks I’ve gone to, the baristas I’ve met usually takes my order, hardly makes eye contact and then moves on to the next person. When I came into the Kahala location I felt a burst of welcome and the willingness that the barista likes to connect to their customers. There’s so many Starbucks these days, and people who have wonderful attributes are definitely hard to come by, but it seems they are all at the Kahala location. I would definitely drive the extra miles to come to this location just to get the awesome experience again.

My favorite Starbucks!
Although the lines can get ridiculously long at times, the baristas are both efficient and consistently friendly.
When seating fills up, there is usually extra areas available in the adjacent mall or directly outside the shop.
It’s nice to be able grab a bite to eat from Whole Foods breakfast buffet and read the newspaper before plugging into Starbucks wifi.

First off when I went in I was the only one there so there shouldn’t have been anything messed up! I ordered two skinny café lattes and a a coffee with half and half. The only coffee that came with a cardboard sleeve to protect against heat was the coffee. I didn’t taste them because I figured they made them correct. So when I brought them back to work for my employees and myself we tasted them and the skinny café lattes were completely wrong. They are supposed to be made with sugar free syrup.

«Bolo head» is slang in Hawaii for bald. Often used in a derogatory manner as an insult.
An employee at the Kahala Mall Starbucks Hawaii wrote this on my cup to describe me instead of my name. Pretty unprofessional!

Thought people should know some employees are doing this to customers.

Another 5 star experience this morning! Super friendly baristas, especially since the line is long as usual… but boy, do they know how to jam and move the line quickly!

Male barista with bow tie who was cleaning milk/​cream station… smile from ear to ear, kind, and friendly! Told him this was my favorite Starbucks! And he genuinely thanked me. He brought out fresh creamers anf wiped everything down. They know what they’re doing at this Kahala Starbucks … and doing it right!

The Starbucks at Kahala Mall is the location I patronize the most. I find the staff is always friendly and efficient. The baristas are always experienced. The areas with the cream, sugar, napkins, etc. (there are 2) are kept clean and well stocked.
This Starbucks always seems to be busy but the line moves regardless. As a bonus, I don’t see the crackheads that hang around other locations.

Well since Unilocal had to remove my review after making a mistake merging the new drive thru business page with this one, I guess it’s time for me to update my review of this Starbucks. This is one of the more crowded Starbucks locations. There seems to always be a line, and it’s usually difficult to find a place to sit inside the café. Luckily, there is plenty of seating outside and by the fountain. The only junky thing is that kahala mall won’t allow you to charge your electronic devices. So if you’re low on battery, cross your fingers you’ll get a spot inside Starbucks OR stalk the tables like a hawk.
I like this location in particular because the baristas are nice and fast. They also seem to be better stocked than other Starbucks locations in terms of snacks and food options. If you’re wanting something a little more substantial, there are a bunch of healthy options (whole foods, aloha salads, Grylt) nearby.
Now that the drive thru location is open, hopefully this one will be less crowded. I’ll continue coming here for late night study sessions. I especially like coming during the holidays for a Starbucks holiday beverage and to sit next to the poinsettia «tree».

When I arrived at this location, there was a short line of 5 people ahead of me that moved on in a very orderly and quick manner. Within a minute, my turn had come up. Since I planned to use my soon-​to-​expire rewards, I wrote down the recipes for drinks from the Secret Menu PRIOR to this visit. Both items were rather complex but, having copied the recipes saved time for the cashiers because they code the cups and charge/​account for each ingredient. Yes, I could have just passed my smartphone over but, I figured it’s less readable (font size and anti-​glare screen) on my device.
In the meantime, I noticed a line had formed behind me. I could almost «feel» a sense of impatience from the patrons behind as it took both cashiers to get involved. Oh oh, would I BE THE CUSTOMER who caused a log-​jam? Would the customers behind give me a «stink-​eye» for delaying their caffeine fix? Thankfully, NOT! From queue control, cashiers, barista to receipt of my order, this crew moves like an exceptionally well-​oiled machine! Plus, the 2 drinks were very tasty and well-​earned rewards.
