The energy of this place is so awesome. Ala Moana doesn’t quite feel the same, people are nice here, even the patrons are willing to share tables and talk with strangers. Starbucks never really has a line compared to the franchise downstairs in the mall and they have better food too. I am sad they will be closing soon.

I’m sad that B&N Kahala is closing soon :( Those sentiments out there, I think the café is worth a visit. They never fail to have a variety of snacks, sandwiches and dessert items to complement Starbucks café drinks. I remember going to B&N Café when I was in middle school. I used to look forward to their smoothies, and at one time they had yummy quesadillas served with ranch dip and potato chips. Most recently, I had iced green tea(nothing special about it) with a strawberry cupcake. Talk about a sugar rush of ecstasy! I’m not the type to read books/magazines in the café because I feel bad about cheating B&N when I «borrow» the reading material they’re trying to sell, but I have spent some time studying. I’ll definitely be back to B&N Kahala before it closes, and when it does close, I’ll cry.

To bad they are closing. They just started to get good desserts. Though they still don’t know how to make a good cup of tea. It was always nice to have a place to go find a good book a drink and snack and just relax

I don’t want to parrot all the other negative reviews that this place has received, but I can’t help it. 1. There is never anywhere to sit and relax(no where to sit in B/N itself). 2. While I haven’t experienced BAD customer service, I don’t think it lives up to the Barnes and Noble standard either. 3. They don’t accept Starbucks Gift Cards.

Are there any managers in the store checking workers? My friend and I went to the café last Tuesday evening, she ordered coffee and I had tea. The young girl was so rude, she slam the tin container that contain tea bags on the counter. My friend said ” wow that was rude“ Please train your employees to be nicer to customers. We enjoy your store not the service.

I love that I can use my Barnes and Noble membership card here to get my coffee and I can purchase books and other B &N merchandise at this counter. They make my Vanilla late perfectly and I don’ t have to brave the long line that the Starbucks in the mall usually gets. It’s quiet, clean and they have all the coffee and food options as other Starbucks locations.

I cannot really tell the difference in tastes for coffees but they used to have better blueberry scones. They don’t have my favorite ones anymore. Unilocal365 — 276⁄365

They have great soups. Everyday they usually have two different types of soups available. Great with one of their sandwiches or stuffed pretzels. Minus one star because of service. There are a couple of good workers, but the other can’t either handle the rush and forget your order or they’re just not courteous!

SERVICEISCRAP. the douche bag working the counter on 03÷30÷12 clearly hates his life and takes it out on the customers. shitty barista behavior includes = fiddling on his cellphone while ignoring customers, not telling you your total, swiping your credit card before you’re done ordering, not saying«hello», «what would you like to order» or «thank you», buddy — if you hate your position in life SOMUCH, get a new job or something… don’t be bitchy to your customers. i’d rather my barista be annoyingly cheery rather than an ASSHOLE. i’d rate the food/drink here, but what is the point really? all starbucks products are commercially made so that there is consistency in all of their stores… the only thing you can really rate is the service from store to store. this particular one SUCKS.

I went to Barnes and Noble Café last week to get some work done and utilize the free wi-fi. Unfortunately, I couldn’t find a single outlet for my laptop. When I asked one of the café workers, he told me B&N had removed or taped over every single outlet in the entire store. He didn’t know why. Seeing as traditional bookstores are struggling to stay afloat, this doesn’t make any sense. :(
So B&N Café is still a great spot to read books, drink coffee, etc., but don’t expect to plug anything in.

I like this Barnes and Noble café more than the Ala Moana location. the people who work here seem to be friendlier and they dont hound book readers to buy drinks in order to read books at their tables. The café is pretty much a starbucks, except you can get a 10% discount for using your barnes and noble card. :)
