We tried the pizza, Mac n cheese and spinach artichoke poppers. All were awesome! Excellent customer service! Order was taken by Paul himself. We were informed there would be a 10 minute wait as the poppers are made to order. Didn’t mind that at all. Fresh is good and we weren’t in a hurry anyway. Way to go Paul!

When you get the munchies eat a Paul’s popper! Faves: Anything with jalapeños and all the cream cheese dessert ones. Food: Known for his yummy filled won tons! Has his other plate lunch options but I really go for the poppers. Many choices to choose from that you can have a vegetable, meat, starch, and dessert filled one to curb your hunger till the next meal. Unless you’d want it as a meal then you can eat 15+. Customer Service: Paul is usually there when I go in and he always has such a warm and welcoming smile and is so nice. Good for bringing to all types of gatherings.

Dessert poppers for the win! Went here with grandma after trying Paul’s at the Unilocal Halloween party(yes it took a long time to get here). The parking lot is kind of a zoo and the stalls are tight but it’s conveniently located close to downtown. Look for the Jollibee on the corner and you can pull into the lot on either side. We had an assortment of savory poppers which were tasty, grandma loved the spinach artichoke one, and I thought the cheeseburger poppers were great fun! The plates were big and filling, Mac salad, rice, and poppers, pretty carb intensive but good portions that conquered me – yes as big an eater as I am I couldn’t finish my lunch plate. The dessert poppers are really tasty, grandma loved the lilikoi cheesecake and I was a big fan as well. They offer big trays which I’m going to have to keep in mind for tailgating.

Stopped by here after recommendations from my co workers. A new co worker and I went by today and had the chicken katsu and garlic chicken. We were told that the wait could sometimes be a while which is what I was expecting when we went. However, we were the only people there and the owner got our food out pretty quickly along with another customer’s order who came in a few minutes after us. The food was so delicious! Best Mac salad I’ve had since being on the island and I had pretty much given up on Mac salad in Hawaii. I definitely will be visiting here often!

OMGTHEIRLOBSTERBACONMACANDCHEESE. Need I say more? I popped in to pay a visit to Uncle Paul at the Night Market, thanks to the suggestion of a friend. I’ve had their poppers at one of Unilocal’s amazing holiday parties, and I pass them on my way to work in Kalihi, but it’s been awhile since I’ve gotten their crispy fried pillows. Mostly because I have a hard time talking myself into stopping for something deep fried. Now, though, I think I won’t be able to deny myself when I drive past their brick and mortar establishment… BECAUSE…They’re basically little fried wontons/gaugee stuffed with delightful decadent delectable goodness. 3 for $ 5 if you get one of their specialties(aka LBMAC), or 6 for $ 5 if you get their standard flavors(I recommend their turkey jalapeño popper – it’s got spice!). But seriously – you’ve got to try their lobster bacon mac and cheese. If you’re going to order deep fried poppers, there’s no use pretending to be healthy, just go indulge and get the good stuff. You won’t regret it(well, while you’re eating it anyway). Problem is… once you pop, you can’t stop!

Pretty run of the mill. Interesting take on filling won tons with pepperoni and mozzarella and other stuff. I guess anything tastes good fried. The chicken katsu was ok. It was a little too done for my taste. Their Mac salad was good. And their prices pretty reasonable. Their portions are above average. Overall above average, give them a try and let me know what you think.

Garlic chicken is so Ono. Probably one of the best I’ve had in island. The pepperoni pizza poppers are delicious too. I didn’t give it five stars because portion size was kind of small by island standards. We left and doubled back to get more so it’s well worth the trip.

Delicious fried food! The owner Paul is very nice and funny. So glad we «popped» in there!(Terrible pun, sorry.) We had 4 types of poppers, 3 regular and one specialty. The pepperoni and spinach artichoke was AMAZING. The mac and cheese was okay, but a bit more on the plain side(good for picky eaters tho!). Our specialty was bacon lobster Mac’n’Cheese(which explains why the regular one seemed plain by comparison). So very tasty! There’s one table inside and one table outside. It seems more like a grab and go kind of place. I’m tempted to come again tomorrow and just have the on the beach.

My sis in law and I went to lunch here the other day… she was just humoring me because I have always wanted to eat at the brick and mortar Pauls location. Let me first say, I love deep fried food. Salty, sweet, it’s all good. There is that relationship between the crunchy outside and the soft inside that always makes me happy. Having said that, I have had Paul’s wontons on several occasions… farmer’s markets, eat the streets, etc. and for me… they are just ok. I have tried a bunch of flavors, and to me, they are a little forgettable. But I wanted to go to the Kalihi location because I heard they have good plate lunches and more flavors of wontons… and they do. We walked up to the counter and there was a girl making the ‘poppers’ and she walked us through the menu. The list isn’t long, but we did have a hard time deciding because everything looked good. We ended of deciding on the #M4 and the Stevie Wonder. The M4 is the garlic chicken with poppers… we tried the caprese(Very good) and the bacon mac and cheese(just ok). The Stevie Wonder is chicken katsu over waffle fries, covered in mozzarella and homemade brown gravy. Ok, so the poppers were good… actually the caprese is probably my fav now. But the garlic chicken was MINDBLOWING. Yes, really, really good. When I say really good, I’m saying #3 on the island for me(coming in third to Mitsuken and Mitsuba). It is not the crunchiest chicken ever, but the flavor is on point. The flavor is so addicting, I immediately regretted not ordering more! The Stevie wonder was enough to feed two people, but it was very good. Even though it was a little salty, the combination of the brown gravy, cheese, and katsu really worked. You sop it all up with waffle fries, and yeah… it’s happy nap time. I will most definitely be back for more… I am sad that I have waited this long to come here! GARLICCHICKEN!

Paul’s Poppers is a must-visit for locals and out-of-towners! Their popper menu is varied and ALL of it is delicious, but by far the best original flavor is the spinach and artichoke! For those lucky enough to visit them at the Eat the Street monthly fest, you’ve got to try the new flavors — my fav is, hands down, the falafel popper. An already perfect blend of flavors, the included cucumber dipping sauce takes something great and makes it exquisite! Paul’s Poppers are simply incredible — a must have!

Yesterday(05÷07÷15) my co-worker & I went back to get my refund & the person who helped us was«Paul» the Owner of the place was just plain rude! He first made a mistake and secondly I went back to get this right. So he did his part and as he was going on, he’s over here saying, «it’s been four years blah blah this never did happen(w.his cocky attitude).» I know you’ve been in business for four years like, shit happens. It’s not my fault that I’d be eating and somehow a piece of glass be coming out of my mouth while scooping away… And he’s like«No, no your straight foward(again w. his cocky ass attitude) it’s okay we make money» As a Owner, he should know how to handle or talk to his customers. But it was awful how they approached me to get my refund back. «Sorry, you can come down if you WANT your refund back» says, Kellsie. Like who says that, «If you want»? that’s just stupid. Instead of being apologetic about it she acted like she doesn’t care or that I was lying. I’m never coming back after dealing w. the OWNER’S attitude & I WOULDN’T RECOMMENDTHISPLACE!

I had some poppers at eat the street and they were OK, so when they had a Groupon I bought it. On my way to the beach I decided to use it. I went there about 15 minutes before opening, but the doors were wide open so I walked in. Paul said they weren’t going to open until 11, but I could look at the menu. I asked if I could just put in my order and come back in about 20 min. He said that was fine, but did it with a slight attitude and clearly was annoyed. I explained that I had a Groupon and Paul said that for $ 14 I could get 17 poppers and choose 3 different flavors.(Poppers are normally $ 12 for 15). I returned about 25 minutes later and still had to wait 20 minutes for my order while he was preoccupied with other customers. I get my order and rather than 17 poppers, there were only 15. Not to mention, he forgot part of my order and I had to go back. I got a side order of chicken for $ 6 and there were about 6 tiny bite sized pieces… $ 1 a bite!!! If it were yummy, not so bad, but it was rubbery and chewy and tasted like rancid oil. I have one more Groupon because the deal came with 2. I’ll have to remember to call in my order about an hour in advance and pick up my chicken from Jollybee next door.

I’ve eaten here before and it was okay but this time around the food was disgusting! I bought a coupon for half off online and thought I’d order some poppers and a plate for dinner. I came close to closing and when I walked in I saw Paul in the back talking story with someone. He saw me walk in and yet he didn’t acknowledge me and continued to talk to who ever was in the back with him in the kitchen. When he finally came to the front I put in an order of 4 different flavors and a chicken plate. The wait was a bit long but I was looking forward to it. When I got home and opened what I got I was not only disappointed I was disgusted. The poppers tasted like crap. It tasted as though the mac and cheese poppers were spoiled. All the flavors tasted spoiled and the chicken plate that I bought was gross, it tasted like it was cooked in very old oil. I only tried one popper of each 4 flavors and a small bite of the chicken before I just threw it all away. Huge waste of money and the customer service sucks. If you want good quality food from an establishment where the owner gives a crap about what he serves you and how he serves it to you then don’t go here. It’s not worth your time or your money.

Not sure how the location is because I went to the food truck they had at Eat the Streets but I must say this place is overrated. I was SO excited to try it but to my disappointment it wasn’t worth it. I got the pork guisantes, the pepperoni pizza, & the crab Rangoon. The pork guisantes was SO salty. It tasted like it was made of solely peas and salt. The pepperoni pizza was alright. Not something I would crave for but eh, better than the guisantes that’s for sure. And lastly, the crab Rangoon. I can’t tell you how the crab Rangoon tastes like because they messed up my order! I paid $ 10 for all of that. I thought it was overpriced, but then again, so are a lot of the items at eat the street. The lady who took my order seemed to be annoyed but there was a cute young girl who worked side by side from her and kept the positive vibes up. She was so cheerful and nice to everyone. Will I be back? No. For $ 10, I think I’d rather get a plate lunch with a drink on the side. Glad I finally tried it though.

5 stars for successfully innovating on friend cream cheese & crab wontons with unexpectedly delicious flavors. And the garlic fried chicken is excellent too! I highly recommend all the poppers we tried: spinach & artichoke, pepperoni, bacon mac & cheese, and 3 cheese jalapeño — they were all such flavorful, cheesy crunchy pops of deliciousness. I wish we had gotten more! Pepperoni was our favorite… Like a pizza roll but crispier and even better!

If you are ever in Oahu, this place is a MUST. My cousin and I devoured the poppers in seconds and were craving more after we at the last ones. LOL. Honestly we would have never known of this place but my friend lived on Oahu and found this spot a little while back. There isn’t a huge list of various kinds of poppers but the ones that they have are well worth it. Its a won ton wrapper, deep fried with various types of goodness that will def. add pounds to your tummy and thighs but honestly I wouldn’t even care! My favorite were the typical Jalapeño filled poppers. I love spicy so this was perfect for my taste buds. My cousin got pepperoni filled and a basil tomato one which I refused to eat because I dislike tomatoes. But she said they were amazing so I guess I’ll take her word for it. Must go back!

Paul was so helpful! No really, I met Paul! He explained the menu, answered my questions, and made the best poppers I’ve ever had. So many choices, so since it was my first time, I tried a bunch of them(see pics). I tried the savory and the sweet. They were DELICIOUS! Parking: as with almost ALL Hawai’i parking lots, you go in there thinking you might not find a space during lunch time, but with some patience, you do :) It’s a small little shop w/a couch to sit on while you wait, a tiny table in the corner and one outside. I can see how folks take their food to go. But, we sat outside and enjoyed our food. I just wanted to try the poppers, so I can’t speak for the other food, but it was a filling snack. The poppers are affordable for novelty items. Might be fun to take them to parties, or back to the office for the ladies to try! Happy for Paul and his business! I’d recommend for sure.

I like when a place 100% commits itself to a single food item with confidence that they can pull it off using a variety of flavors. Paul’s Poppers uses that approach with its wonton wrapped poppers. While their small storefront is on King and Dillingham, you will also often see them at eat the street, night market, and other similar food stand style events. I’ve had their food a number of times and I usually enjoy it quite a bit. Some of the flavors are fantastic, while others are rather lackluster. Their original flavor pork/jalapeño/cheddar is my personal favorite, although unfortunately they were out of that today. So instead I got the three cheese jalapeño, which was much like the original minus the pork. I also had a free one from a Unilocal checkin! I used this to try the turkey melt which wasn’t very impressive. I also ordered three pieces of the lilikoi cheesecake which was very good. Generally the dessert ones are always reliably good, although rather messy both inside and outside. Overall, Paul’s Poppers is a reliable deep fried snack that almost always hits the spot.

What a hidden treasure! Browsing through Unilocal to find somewhere to eat in town since I live on th e west side. So glad I found Paul’s poppers!!! It’s really small so it’s best to come at an odd hour or just get ur food to go. The poppers are AMAZING! I had the spinach artichoke, caprese and bacon mac ones and all were delicious! He even caters so I will definitely get some for the next party I throw. :D Oh AND Paul is sooooooo nice! Customer service is on point for sure!
