This Zippy’s always has been our next stop after a late night outing especially for us who lives in the Kalihi area. If I had a choice of which Zippy’s to go to, I’d choose this one among the 4 that surrounds the Kalihi area. I suppose it’s always the one location we think of whenever we need a place to eat after hours. We usually go to the take out area for quicker service. Our last dine in we chose to sit inside the restaurant area for a cooler environment. I wish I got the name of the girl that helped us because she gave us great customer service from beginning to end. She always checked up on us and made sure everything was okay. It made our dining experience that much more pleasurable. My go to meal at Zippy’s is always Korean Fried Chicken, Chili Cheese Fries or Won Ton Min on a cold evening. Food has always been consistent whenever I go here so there’s no complaints there. Although, Zippy’s seems to be rising in prices, it’s inevitable that we still continue to dine here. Always gonna be Hawaii’s next stop place whenever people come here.

On the outskirts of China town, the area is less than desirable. Bums and vagrants congregate along the streets. The food is typical local fare with a Denny’s type vibe. If you want local style comfort food Zippys is the place to go, however there is a Zippys every 5 miles in Hawaii and this one is not the best representation of their establishments.

This location is by far my must go to places every time I come to Hawaii. Zippy’s has a very delicious chili. You can buy it at the stores outside of Hawaii in California but nothing is better than having it on an omelette made right there. Zippy’s is «home». Try the fruit punch! It’s not the same fruit punch you’ve ever had. Oh and the Surf Pack is another must have each time. This place takes 2 visits! It would be awesome if they could bring this place to California in Torrance or Gardena, maybe even near downtown Disney in Anaheim. Hint hint :) Much Aloha! And mahalo!

Fried noodle($ 9.00): saimin cooked with cabbage, Spam, sweet pork, fish cake and green onions. $ 2.00 extra for fried chicken. My saimin is delicious, as usual. The fried chicken was tasty and crispy too. Fruit punch: me kinda likey. Chili omelette($ 7.95): it was so ono. I loved eating the yummy chili with rice. Friendly worker, but she was kinda clueless. She asked what we ordered, literally 30 seconds after our order. The worker recommended us getting the small and large, so we could get a free refill. Ummm what happened to the free refill? The glass was almost empty and it stayed that way until we left: P 4 stars! It’s no secret that I am a fan of Zippy’s! Zippy’s is yummylicious!

So their customer service follow up is pretty good. They got back to me right away via email and said they’ll do what management does… The customer service rep was nice and helpful. If only if they were working behind the counters…

My family and I have been coming to this Zippys for years. And I must say the quality of service has really dropped after the renovation of Vineyard. Vineyard employees was at the Nimitz Zippys while it renovated. Last 11÷25÷15 we ate at the dining area and the quality of food had dropped. The Portuguese bean soup was not warm and the toss salad looked old. It seems like it was sitting there for a while. Waitreses and waiters took a while to bring water and our drinks. Our food came out first than our drinks. The quality of customer service has really dropped too for both the fast food and restaurant side. Just so everyone knows they weren’t that busy last night. I’ll have enough to try another Zippys. This one really lost its appeal. As for the fast food side, they get your order wrong. When you say you want all rice you still get the salad with your plate when you don’t want it. And when you ask for forks instead of grabbing the handle they grab the fork side with their hands. That’s not right. Also it seems like even though their 4 or 5 people behind the counter; it seems like there’s no one that comes out and wipe the tables down. Most times we have to ask for napkins to wipe the tables.

Zippy’s on Nimitz is probably my favorite location on Oahu. It’s always busy, which means the kitchen has to keep up with the influx of people. That means food is usually prepared to order and comes out fresh and hot. This location is perfect for late night eating, and if you go see a movie beforehand bring your ticket stub for 10% off your bill. Eat anything here. Pretty much all of it is good. The Wun Tun Min, Chicken Katsu Curry Saimin, fried chicken, Teri burger, and Loco Moco are favorites though, and don’t forget about dessert from Napoleon’s. The ensaymada, Dream cake, and guava chiffon cake are the best, but I’ll eat anything. You should, too.

I always drive past this Zippy’s, but always opted for Liliha. The other day my sis and I dined here, because we were just craving comfort food! We opted to sit on the restaurant side. Service was good, fast and speedy, as they could be. Food was consistent. I thought this place was nice because I’ve driven by many Zippy’s that only had a fast food side. This one was clean and nice. The only thing I thought they could work on is getting, an expo, for their servers? my sister was waiting for her drink(fountain) but our server was busy dressing a plate for customers. It seems they do all aspects of dressing the plate, which could probably hinder their service.

Avoid this place for breakfast, this seems to be the hub for construction workers in the morning, I waited 45 minutes one morning for breakfast. Workers are welcoming and friendly. I seem to be a fan of the Zippy’s fried chicken, sometimes over fried and too brown and too crispy, I never seem to have that problem at this location. Service for lunch is fast if either taking out or dining in.

High quality unique fare. Menu diverse. If you cannot find something you like, look at the daily specials. Inexpensive and do not mistake Zippy’s for Alan Wong’s or Sam Choys. Good for regular folk, not pretentious douchebags who like to light money on fire. The treats from Napoleon’s next door is a giant plus. Not for dieters. Service is quick and efficient bordering on brisk.

Good fried rice and even better omelette’s. Ask for the 3 egg one for an extra $ 1.50 worth it.

This is a very busy restaurant located at 666 Nimitz! Their food is so delicious that I’m salivating as I write this. I miss it already. The service was great and the staff were friendly. Parking is a bit difficult for large vehicles as the parking lot if always full. Give them a try when in the area or at any of their other locations. I enjoyed their breakfast cakes with Portuguese Sausage and an egg. Their root beer float is a great compliment to any entrée! We beat the crowd at about 11am! The line was all the way to the Napoleons side at noon… so get here early to avoid a wait.

I was told this is the Hawaiian version of blueberry hill. I can totally see the connection. The person taking the order seemed to be in a rush. Wasn’t the nicest lady ever but it didn’t really bother me. She should have asked everyone if they wanted fried rice substituted with their bento box as the person before me ordered the same thing and after I substituted fried rice, he wanted that too. I ordered a breakfast bento box with Portuguese Sausage, egg, and fried rice to go. It really did come out faster than I thought which was a plus. For a little breakfast box, it was pretty decent. The fried rice was decent. It wasn’t nearly as good as other places where I’ve had fried rice, but it wasn’t too bad. Sausage was okay. Overall, for five bucks, it’s really not a bad deal. If that’s the type of food that always comes out, it’s really not too shabby. Five bucks for breakfast isn’t horrible. In a bind, I can see a Zippy’s being a decent option for food.

Before coming to this place, I heard president Obama frequented one of the restaurants in the Zippy’s chain. I wanted to see what the fuss was about. The menu features items such as spaghetti with tomato sauce, burgers, fries, salads. In the front of the menu, it offers the daily specials. The list is small. Your servers reminds you to take a quick look at it. The food tasted great! I ordered a vegetarian chili. Delicious! You have a choice of rice, or cornbread. I choose the cornbread. It tasted scrumptious! The price list looks decent: good for families and students alike and anyone on a budget. This place attracts different types of people: singles, families, friends, couples. I found the wait staff to be friendly. The service was quick. The servers interact with the customers. I definitely would recommend this place to anyone passing by or locals who want a quick bite.

I don’t usually like Zippy’s restaurants… but when you’re in the mood for a quick bite and flavors that are usually always repeatable… Zippy’s is hard to beat. The Nimitz location is one of my favorite locations. Not just because its in town, but it’s always clean and the workers. ALWAYS friendly! You can’t say that about all the Zippy’s but I’ve never been left sitting there wondering if the waitress just had a bad day and she’s taking it out on me! Zippy’s Nimitz location has a ton of friendly waiters and waitresses. The food comes out quick, your coffee is refilled like it’s bottomless and you’ll leave here happy that you came! Easily the Zippy’s I’d drive to from no matter where I am on the island!

My bf and I brought his parents, who were visiting from Maui, here for dinner since it was close to the airport. We visited the dine in section. It was not crowded, and I was glad, so I expected a short wait. I waited by the kiosk for five minutes and no one came. I looked around the corner and saw four servers talking and using their phones. I flagged one down for a table. My bf’s mom ordered oxtail min(replace the rice with saimin), but the server gave us a real hard time. We told her we would pay for oxtail and the saimin if it was a problem. She said she was going to check with her boss. She came back and said they were out of oxtail. We then ordered a zip pac and three hamburger steaks. The server brought a zip pac, two hamburger steak and a meatloaf. We told the server that we did not order the meatloaf and she offered to replace it, but my bf was starving at the time and said never mind. Imo, if the server made a mistake and brought the wrong food, it should have been comped or at least give some kind of discount. That did not happen. I also got food poisoning from the zip pac. I threw up four times when I got home. I haven’t hurled in that manner since I had hyperemesis gravida with my second child. Needless to say, I will not visit this particular location again. I really do love zippy’s but I will stick to the waiau and waipio restaurants.

Arrived at 8:15am from Tokyo and the of course the first spot I visit for breakfast was the first I spotted on my way to Waikiki. There are 2 sections… if you want a relaxing atmosphere with a waitress then hit up the dining area if not(and no like tip) then just go to the more casual side. There was a guy sleeping on one of the tables next to us… i guess you can just cruise here over a drink. Arrived to a breakfast only menu but $ 4.50 price point and volume was just enough. Went with Breakfast Bento #3(Corned beef hash, Portuguese sausage, scrambled egg and rice). You really can’t go wrong… whenever you order sausage or corned beef it always tastes the same so no hit or miss. But the rice was on the very brittle dry side… oh well.

After a somewhat disappointing experience at Zippy’s Vineyard a few months ago when having a meh day at work a few days ago my partner when asking me what the hell I wanted to eat for lunch decided I was going to eat Zippy’s and like it. Upon wandering into the restaurant, I was overwhelmed with options and I somehow ended up with a mini chili with spaghetti. Upon advising my partner what I had ordered, he proceeded to tell me that I ordered what he yells at his children for ordering because well you can eat spaghetti at home. True as it may be, upon arriving back at the office and opening my lunch I proceeded to inhale it like I hadn’t eaten in years. I don’t know what they put in their chili or spaghetti but holy crap was that delicious. I sadly also ended up getting a take out mini turkey dinner here on Thanksgiving, but that’s my own fault and I won’t review that meal because that would be unfair. If you’re in the mood for cheap comfort food this is the place to go. Fine dining it isn’t but comforting it is. The food came out fast and hot, and while I’m pretty sure no one said thank you, I also didn’t get charged for one either.

Being right next to the new Liliha Bakery is a tough decision to make, Zippys or LIliha? In my case, Zippys wins because they’re 24 hours! Well the quick take-out seating area is anyway. Their dining room closes at MIDNIGHT, midnight. Anyway, coming from downtown and driving down Nimitz highway it is almost a given to just stop at Zippys after a long night out because it’s just right off the highway! Whoever thought about putting Zippys right there, KUDOS! Whenever my friends and I are ever hungry we end our shenanigans here because it’s relatively close to where most of us live. Zippys is Zippys and their menus the same unless it’s one of the better ones with the Sushi bar or even drive thru take out window. What I’m a big fan about this Zippys location besides their geographical location is their service. Its a bit consistent(of course there will be times better than others) but for the most part, consistent. I always come here really late and for coming in late and having a group of 4+ usually they’re welcoming and never give us a hard time. Their attitudes are on par as if it was earlier in the day. Shoutout to all the auntie’s and nanas working late to take care of us!

A visit to Oahu wouldn’t be complete without a stop at Zippy’s which is why I stopped by last week. This was my 2nd time here and I wanted to try something different. On my previous visit I had loco moco and saimin. I have heard a lot about Zippy’s chili but since I was starving I also wanted something filling and substantial. I looked around on the menu for some type of chili combo when the chili moco caught my eye. Perfect, a loco moco with chili instead of gravy! Best of both worlds. Rachel S was with me on this trip and she ordered a large saimin which is a great deal for under 6 bucks! The food came out fairly quickly and both the saimin and the moco were as delicious as I remembered. The saimin had a good soup base flavor and they weren’t stingy with the noodles which was great. The chili moco tastes exactly like a loco moco with chili on top. The chili was good but didn’t notice anything special compared to normal American chili that I’ve had on the mainland. The staff here is pretty efficient here with order taking and bringing the check at the end. The food pricing is very reasonable here considering their huge portions, and certain items on the menu would be considered very inexpensive. The servers were very friendly and I had another great experience at Zippy’s.
