Sushi-Thai On The Beach

Who can argue with eating your meal with an incredible view of their home. The view here is of course really great! Right on the Hollywood boardwalk and very romantic atmosphere. I’ve been here several times. It’s a favorite spot the mister likes to take me when we’re hanging out on the beach or want a romantic night out with great scenery. Their selection of sushi is standard, but still delicious. My boyfriend is a big fan of their crunchy tuna roll. Their dragon roll is good and it has all my favorite sushi restaurant guilty pleasures such as Thai tea and tempura ice-​cream. Everything is very fresh. Their pad thai is pretty tasty also. Watch out for out for the added 18% tip on the bill. I don’t mind it, because I have never encountered bad customer service here, but I know it definitely catches people off guard.

Not bad, but not great. The veggies in my stir fry had a slight freezer burn. Only 3 small shrimp to be found in the dish. The staff was friendly but did not bother to check if everything was ok or to refill drinks. The added 20% gratuity was a surprise as the bill clearly has a BIG space for gratuity which may confuse people. I already knew this as I was told by a local they add it as they say Canadians don’t tip! Which I know is not true! It’s a way of not having to give good service if you ask me. $ 25 for stir fry with a small green tea? Wow.

We had a table of six and walked 10 minutes from Margaritaville for dinner. Started with the spicy noodle salad. (Good.) Rock n roll sushi roll was very tasty. Tom yum soup (good). Thai fresh rolls (not good– looked like a toddler assembled them). Mee grob was also an app fave. For the dinner selections, Massaman curry with salmon was LOVED and with the crispy duck was fantastic. Udon soup was just OK. Kids liked the chicken teriyaki. Sitting outside on the Broadwalk was lovely and we had a nice table on the porch. Just know that sitting outside comes with the Broadwalk shitshow including visits from birds and the bird poop they leave. Overall a good ethnic meal with non-​Margaritaville prices.

Not bad sushi, great view of the ocean. Service sub par but at least we received food and drinks. They didn’t ask if I would like more drinks. And they added ‘MANDATORY’ 18% gratuity. I gave %15 and they came back and said I owed more. Shocked.

Great sushi… very fresh… love the soups and big portions… staff is very friendly… and right on the boardwalk .you can get a great view of the ocean while eating fresh sushi.

Sat outside on a beautiful night. Right on the boardwalk, view of the water. Sushi rolls were wonderful, and well made. Service was great, and the prices weren’t horrible.

Excellent Thai restaurant on Hollywood Beach. My husband and I visited Sushi-​Thai for dinner tonight. The service was great and the food even better. I had the red curry with chicken while my husband opted for the basil fried rice, both spicy. Our meals were cooked perfectly and promptly, with just the right amount of heat. Large portions, plenty of leftovers for tomorrow! Would definitely visit again.

So good. At first look it appears to be a «hole in the wall» but the pad thai, fresh (unfried) spring rolls and soup was amazing. Recommend.

I enjoyed my sushi! I was staying at one of the hotels nearby so picked up some takeout. Sushi was fresh, tasty, and you can’t beat the view!

Stay away! Food quality has gone down hill fast (ate here 3 – 4 times a year for many years until 2015). And we had to order the same dish three times before they got it right. Rude staff, no manager on site on a Sat night.
Finally, am I wrong to think the 18% tip rule for a party of 6 should not apply when it is made up of 3 adults and 3 kids who ate off the kids menu?

Don’t think I’ll ever go back to this place again ! I had another discrepancy w the bill and when I spoke kindly about it the waiter/​ess started a huge uproar ! I had people yelling at me from different angles ! Read the bill clearly because they get you at the end when it’s time to pay and tip !!

If I could give this place zero stars I would. It’s Friday night and the place is EMPTY, and it’s empty for a reason. I won’t waste my time to tell you every little detail about my horrible experience here but just know this place is not worth going to. If your craving sushi DONT come here, go somewhere else, you’ve been warned…

The place was good food wise pretty standard. The salad dressing was outstanding. But the location is amazing, superb, you cannot beat it. It is the nicest Thai restaurant in America because of the view.

I LOVE Thai food. I have been eating it for 20 years. I just ate the Red Curry, and it was the WORST I have ever had. I never write reviews, and this is my first, but I really want to warn Thai lovers, who really know what Thai food should taste like, not to waste time or money. Sure, the view is nice, but I can see it just by walking up and down. I had heard it wasn’t a good place to go, but I tend to want to see things for myself. It not being good has been confirmed. I will continue to go to Sake Thai on Sheridan and more or less 40^th. Wow! Now, that is a Thai place that knows how to cook!

By far one of my favorite places to go just for the view. Today was an amazing experience. Great service, food tips that ended with a happy belly! Thank you!

BEWARE!!! I always come here and lately the food has been AWFUL. I live locally and would always order out and sometimes eat in. My last order made me so SICK!!! the food was extremely greasy and no seasoning at all. when I came to inform the manager, who wasn’t there, the other employee was telling me that I was wrong… I don’t understand, I was there three times In a week. they need to recognize their clients. instead she spoke to me like I was crazy and asked me for a doctors note. I WILL NEVER SET FOOT IN THIS PLACE. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER AND FOOD MAY POISON YOU.,
PS I spent all day at home, couldn’t even go to work. worst day ever!!! for $ 30 I lost a whole days of work… ridiculous!

The menu has a lot of selections, but I was surprised that they didn’t have the «Lad Nah/​Lad Nar» noodle dish. I ordered Pad See Ewe and it was good enough to satisfy my hunger. The Tom Yum soup was really good – just the perfect amount of sourness that I like. I also remember that their music selection was quite enjoyable. :) It was a nice change from typical Asian music.

Visited my father in Hallandale and decided to bring my family to lunch here. Total of 8 people. I honestly don’t understand why the waitresses have so much attitude. They seem angry.
I was hurt at the way they spoke to my father who is a senior citizen.
My father asked the waitress why the bad treatment he’s been there in the summer when business is slow and always supported them. The head waitress responded, «Then you should know better!»
Sadly I took my family elsewhere. Try «Sapore Di Mare». We got allot of love here from the owner and his family. Now that is a place I will definitely comeback again to.

Great location… avoid at all costs. The only thing worse than the food is the service. Started with the beef negamki, the bite sized pieces were so tough we needed to cut into 3 just to get it down. Sushi was not very fresh. Thai dishes were better.
Service was extremely slow and they got only 50% of the dishes correct. How do you mess up 4 out of 8? We were served our crispy tofu raw after we finished the main courses.
They applied an 18% gratuity and the manager gave us a hard time and didn’t take it off. Amazingly he claimed that the wrong dishes we ordered were our fault.
Also, restrooms were nasty.

Ducked in with Kristen to talk social media and merchant processing, and boy was I happy I did, here’s why:
* The Spicy Lobster Special Roll was like a big, seafoody and sushi-​fied plate of super-​delish fish nachos of LOVE! Where have you been all my life? SCORE! It cost $ 20 bucks but was the hit of the meal. BIG chunks of fried Florida Spiny lobster inhabit the roll-​slices you find hidden under a delish topping of shredded crab and other tasty treats. My mouth is watering while typing this. Mmmmmmmm!
We also enjoyed some edamame. They were fresh and prepared well, served warm and tasted fab, seasoned perfectly. The presentation was a little off. It was like they delivered it in a metal cat food bowl. It was the only metal bowl in site. Odd. But good.
We also ordered some Tuna and Salmon sashimi and the pieces were HUGE and very fresh and tasty. SCORE! (see pics).
The joint is positioned oceanfront, on the famous and storied Hollywood Broadwalk. The décor is a little dated, but I did mention that it is WATERFRONT, right?
The only reason they aren’t 5-​starring it is because of the service. It was not good this visit.
But the views and the quality of the food make it okay in my book. Pricing is fair, and less than I expected for the locale.
