This is to append the last review I wrote because the business owner replied to my original review here. The owner goes on to quote me and completely have the wrong facts. I don’t make a habit of giving 1 star reviews. The fact that I have over 700 reviews and that my 1 star reviews make up less than 1% of ALL my reviews speaks for itself. Beginning of the owner’s response: «1÷22÷2016 It is very unfortunate that you visited our lovely beach on such a busy day that all 3 elevators were being used. It is correct that we did have elevator issues at this time, all 3 elevators have been upgraded and all issues have been resolved. » When it was close to the 13:42(around 13:30) I walked back to the garage to pay the 4 dollars for the first two hours. The were signs saying the garage was full so I just went up to the machine to print a new ticket because I wasn’t really leaving. The machine was shut off.” Our garage is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. The machine was not«off», it requires a vehicle to be on the pad for the sensors to pick up that a new guest is entering and needs a ticket for the gates to open. ” The were signs saying the garage was full« Why in the world would you exit the garage when you clearly see that we are no longer allowing guests in. We provide parking to two Hotels and are required to reserve spaces for PREPAID hotel guests. Our rates are the least expensive parking on Hollywood Beach which is obvious in your complaint with the heavy flow of traffic attempting to gain entry. Leaving with the idea of re-entering to save yourself two dollars, when you clearly see that the garage is full is your responsibility and in no way reflects negatively on our staff or our garage.» End of owner’s response ____________________ 1. YOUR staff said to leave and come back in for a new ticket. I was not given that option even though I was at the front of the line on a pad but the ticket wouldn’t come out. Try to remember all I needed to do was exit and turn right around. I was lied to from staff, misinterpretation on your part. 2. There were spots I just left a spot and the floors were empty. Whether there are spaces reserved or not I was in that lot and I was already taking a space until I was told to come out with my car and come right back. That’s lie #2. Spots were available and I just created another by exiting and wanted it right back because I was told to do it that way. 3. Your math is poor… leave to come back to save 2 dollars? Sorry but the first 2 hours is $ 4 and beyond that is $ 15. If I wanted to stay another 1:50 hours after returning it’s just another $ 4, not 11 so I’m saving $ 7, not 2. Where do you come up with 2? The way the pricing is scaled is basically 2:01 hours = 15 dollars, 1:59 = 4 dollars. There is no proper scale to the pricing what so ever. The incentive is to actually leave and come back(if possible) because of the pricing schedule which I was willing to do. 4. During such time the back log of cars trying to get in was because cars were being refused and it caused a back log on the streets towards the parking structure. I wish I had taken photos that day because it was a complete gong show. 5. The bottom line is the staff here on the day lied to me. They said to leave and come back in but it wasn’t allowed so I had no choice but to leave but in the meantime people are trying to park only to be turned away and causing unnecessary stress and traffic in the area if the garage was NOT taking customers. 6. So the garage would take my 15 dollars if I stayed longer than 2 hours no problem(I am taking up space) but doesn’t want me to occupy space by only paying 4 dollars and returning immediately for another 4 dollars for under 2 hours? The only difference is the space I had would have been still allocated to me but the difference would have been you only getting 8 dollars(2×2 hr occupancy) instead of $ 15(greater than 2 hrs occupancy). It’s safe to say I’ll never return to Hollywood Beach because the beach and water is virtually no different from Haulover where parking is a pleasure and reasonable. Haulover parking = $ 6 as long as you want for a day. It’s safe to say people going to the beach want to stay longer than 2 hrs especially when it takes 20 minutes to get to the ground floor because at the time, only 1 elevator out of 3 was working. For anybody going to the beach in north Dade or south Broward I’d HIGHLY recommend going to Haulover park over Hollywood beach because if this owner says that their parking is the so called least expensive(implying other Hollywood parking is more) than Hollywood beach is LESS value than Haulover park. Haulover park flat rate parking = $ 6(No slow/broken/full elevators) Hollywood beach garage parking = 2 hrs for $ 4, more than 2 hrs = $ 15! Time starts when you enter regardless of elevator issues.
