In general food choices, service and ambience was good. I had szechuan chicken fried and hakka noodles, The rice had little chicken and was not so spicy, the hakka noodles were thin noodles, like singapore noodles and the taste was OK. I will try again and other dishes — especially the mouth watering chicken which looked and smelled good and was served on the table next to ours.

Not a fan of food at all here. Bombay chopstick special chicken dish was hopeless with no salt and big chunks of chicken. The dish itself was not appealing or appetizing. Along with that, ordered haka noodles and they weren’t great either. I have definitely experienced better food. Though the portion size is huge here but for me quality always takes the edge than quantity. I am still giving this place 3 stars only because of the service provided at the bar before we moved to the table. We were super hungry when we reached this restaurant and requested the bar tender to get us one of the appetizers which can come soon. She not only gave her suggestions of what will take time(dimsum) which we wanted to order but didnt as per her suggestion and went with another one. It came at a lightning speed and all kudos to her. Really appreciate that effort.

The vegetarian dishes that we ate were good, but not stellar. Though we were very disappointing that this establishment only serves halal meats. It would be fine if they also catered to the rest of the community. There are many communities and faiths that do not eat halal prepared foods, not having options for them is beyond my comprehension. The spices were pretty hot in the dishes so it may not be great for kids.

I have been here many times and there have been times when the food was good and others where everything tasted like I ordered the same thing with different names. The service is good and the food in general is always decent. I give this place a 4 star overall but the food is a 3 star.

This place gets a five-star review, only because no other restaurant does indo-chinese as well as they do. I’ve eaten this cuisine all around the country, but this is the closest you can get to the roadside-chinese food in India. Do not expect traditional thai or chinese food here, and don’t even bother ordering those, but stick to what they do best. Ambiance & Service: The place is decorated in a swanky fashion, with upholstered seating and chandeliers, which I thought was unnecessary and over the top. However, it does give a feel of a clean and well-kept place. The service was reasonably good, but a bit slow even for just a half-filled restaurant . Food: Excellent food, as I’ve stated before. The spices they use are very aromatic, and much better than what I’ve had at other similar restaurants. We started off with soup, which we rarely get at restaurants. The sweet corn soup was very close to the indian version, but the manchow soup was clear, which was surprising, and also served without fried noodles. My friends got the chili chicken appetizer, which they said was really good. For the entrees, we got gobi manchurian, hakka noodles, and shezwan fried rice. All of those were superb, and commendable. The noodles were the best among these. The quantity was really huge. Among the three of us, we could only eat 30% of what we got, and everything else was packed away to-go. They serve the food family style, so keep the large portion size in mind while ordering. Value: Even though the food was really good, it was pretty pricey relative to other comparable restaurant. For one appetizer, two soups, and three entrees, it cost us almost $ 110. However, this is a one of a kind place, so I won’t mind splurging occasionally. Saying this again, this is one of the best indo-chinese food I’ve had in the US, and will definitely go back here. If you go here, don’t order the authentic chinese or thai dishes, but stick to the indo-chinese specialties.

Great Indo Chinese food. Not as good as India but good enough for the Midwest. Will come back again if I am in the area.

This review is for take out and not dine in. I was transiting through Chicago and on my way called the restaurant around 9.30 pm to place a dinner take out order. After being placed on hold for multiple times, I finally managed to speak with someone. When I reached the restaurant it was emptying out and so I was wondering what kept the operator so busy to not answer the phone and put me on an extended hold. I tried my luck again next day to order lunch on the go. This was around 1.30 pm after the peak lunch crowd is gone. I was kept on an extended hold again. I called 4 times and each time it was the same. Annoyed and frustrated with this experience, I did a take out from some where else. When I provided this feedback, I was emailed by someone at the restaurant that I should have ordered my takeout online on their website. I was driving both times so this was not an option. I suppose they assumed that I was calling from the comforts of my couch. The one time I had their food, it was decent but be prepared to keep waiting on the phone for someone to take your order! Their takeout service needs improvement.

The décor is pretty glam. The waitresses are always smiling, orders come relatively fast. Everything is good except the food. The only exception is CHICKENLOLLIPOP. Man, thats one food from heaven. Rest are all hellish. Try lollipop.

My family and I always used to come here as this served really good indo Chinese food. It’s a disappointment now. We ordered 3 appetizers, 2 entrée, 1 noodles and 1 fried rice. Everything was a disappoint as it was cold when it got to the table. The food lost its flavor and the staff got worse. Fried rice and noodles were extremely oily. We actually had them take it back so they can re-heat it. I believe Chinese food is meant to be made instant, made to order. But the food that was brought to us came within 5 – 7 minutes, it did not taste fresh. Don’t come here unless you are trying to eat flavorless, cold or overpriced indo chinese food. I will not be returning, even with the 15% off coupon they offered on next visit.

Food is really good over here with overwhelming quantity. If you are looking for good Indian hakka Chinese then your wait is over.

This is probably one of the most overrated restaurants in general, mostly because of absence of competition. A– mushroom and cottage cheese appetizers are better than all of the others veggie options. B– I never had to wait for more than 15 minutes to get a table for 2. C– Going by their menu, they use a lot of corn starch in almost every dish. Once we ordered the veg manchow soup which was only starch with no soupy base. I had to convince them that it was no good. Good thing that they offered us a fresh one which did taste like a real soup. D– On another occasion, we ordered cauliflower manchurian with gravy which was so awful, no spice and flavor, just lot of starch again. E– all in all, their food lacks consistency and flavor. And yes, it is a crowded fine dine place. Hakka wok which is not so far from Bombay chopsticks is a better option when it comes to indo Chinese food.

We are always looking for a place which serves good Indo Chinese fusion food. Heard about this place but to say we were dis-appointed will be putting it very mildly. Would never want to go back again. Horrible and arrogant staff. Bunch of dumb blondes. Looks like the place gets a regular inflow of customers as there is no other option available in the neighborhood. Bunch of complacent idiots. I so wish a new Indo Chinese place opens up and shuts this place down. My recommendation– Please Please Please Avoid. It’s so not worth it. You’ll repent. I wish there was an option to give negative stars.

What a cute place! I really like the décor and atmosphere of the restaurant. It wasn’t busy for a Tuesday evening so we were seated right away while we waited for our party. I ordered their lychee sangria and it was delicious! I let the rest of the girls try and it just about everyone ordered it! The food was just A-OK. The green curry lacked a lot of flavor as well as some of the lamb dishes, however, the Chung King Lamb was fantastic, great with white rice. The lettuce wraps and crab had a flavorful taste, but nothing else really satisfied our taste buds. Our service was A-OK as well. One of the servers had a bit of an attitude. The meal ended up being quite pricey which wasn’t worth it.

I tried Bombay Chopsticks for the comparison to other Indo-Chinese restaurants and learned that the differences are indeed noticeable. Take note, don’t come here expecting Chinese or Thai food though. With no surprise, Bombay Chopsticks puts the spices at the forefront of their cuisine due to the stronger Indian influence. Dishes here are much more vibrant and aromatic as with Indian cuisine but while still using Chinese cooking techniques. We ordered cumin lamb and dry chili chicken and both were excellent. Each dish was well prepared showing their skill and expertise in the cuisine. The food portions may be smaller than what I would have liked but we cleaned our plates. Just from trying two dishes, I want to go back and try more items off their menu.

However many times I have been to Chicago I have taken a special trip into the suburbs just so I can go to this restaurant! It is worth that toll road money I have to pay on my way back and forth! I have pretty much tried everything on their lunch at least once but few of my favorites: – Golden Fried Baby Corn: There is no such thing as too much corn. One of my cousin does not eat corn but when she tried it — she was mind blown and really liked it. – Chili Garlic Cauliflower: This if probably my favorite item from their menu. It has that perfect texture — crispy from the outside and then soft from inside, have them well done. Garlic just gives an added value to the plate. – Stir Fry Vegetable Dry: It is a pretty generic Vegetarian plate for any Asian restaurant, but I usually have them make it extra spicy. – Pad Thai Noodles: I seriously judge Asian/Thai restaurants based on how they cook their Pad Thai, because this plate can be a hit or miss. – Chili Garlic Noodles: Yes, I love garlic and I love spicy food [I try to eat it in limited quantities though]. It is pretty delicious, this is my sister’s favorite plate from their menu. – Black Forest Cake: My FAVORITE dessert cake! The texture is creamy and one would think that it might taste as too much chocolate but it is just the right amount despite the chocolate shavings on the top of the cake. It is pretty easy to locate, google maps takes you right by the restaurant. It has its own private lot, so parking is not an issue and there is an ample amount of space available. Service is pretty nice — I have ate inside the restaurant and also got a take out. Servers are friendly and pretty attentive. As one of my fellow Unilocaler made a comment: in regards to the silverware they only give you a spoon, fork, and chop sticks. We didn’t have to wait for our take out order, it was ready by the time we got there [20 minutes after we placed the order]. I like the décor as well, the restrooms are pretty clean. I usually judge any restaurant or places based on their restroom. It is next to the Indian store — I usually end up going next door to get some snacks from there after my meal here.

overall 3.5 stars This place provides a rather swanky ambiance for an Indo-Chinese place. Business must be great as it’s next to the parent restaurant that owns it too in the plaza that’s called India House plaza. The restaurant menu is very much set up as family style. Portions are made to be shared and priced as such. Food was okay. We liked the chicken Manchurian the most, and then the Chunking lamb and then the lobster crab dish. Everything we ordered came out record fast. If one takes a step back to see what was ordered, most of the protein dishes follow the same prep: batter it, color it, fry it, sauce it. There aren’t other options for decent Indo-Chinese and esp. given the nice interior with a view of the cooks, I’m sure this place has returning customers. I’ll come back to try the Hakka noodles. Service: 4 food: 3 Décor: 5

Elegant ambiance! I felt like I was in a banquet hall. Besides the awkward tables at the entrance, everything else was pretty cool. The food was good but expensive. We ordered egg rolls, fried rice, orange chicken and all of it was good. Usmania Chinese is definitely better food wise, but this place definitely has better décor. Only issue is, we asked for everything to be spicy and it wasn’t spicy at all! Even the spicy sauce wasn’t spicy. I didn’t even need to drink water. They had many many waiters! Maybe too many, which is good because you know the owner isn’t cheap. I didn’t have to ask for water once because they were so quick to fill it up. Very good service! They also have a window through which you can see how the chef cooks. In case you are worried and want to see if he picks his boogers while he cooks. If the food was cheaper, I’d give them 4 stars.

My big brother(best friend who’s Muslim) and I always wanted to go to this place. The reviews are good, it’s zabiha halal, and it looked like a nice restaurant from the outside. We joked about coming here for months because we always thought it was so expensive. In addition to that, I always thought«it’s just Chinese food(I’m half Chinese btw).» However, on this 21st day of November, we decided it was going to be the day. It takes about 45 – 50 mins from Gurnee, but that was studying time we were willing to forego. As soon as I entered I said«wow! This place is beautiful!» The architecture, design, lighting, and entirety of its ambiance makes you feel at ease and delighted. We were seated immediately even though it was quite busy. We ordered the dragon roll appetizer within five minutes after being seated. It came out in minutes. Then for entrees we got the Chung king Lamb and the Mandarin Honey chili chicken which were both phenomenal. The food was sooooo sooooo soooo good. I liked the lamb better — they do a good job with the spices and breading. The serving sizes are humongous! You get your money’s worth for sure. In addition to the food and ambiance, the service was superb too. Salu was our server and he was very kind to us. Very prompt and made it a great experience. Excellent service! Bombay Chopsticks is bomb! Awesome and delicious food with a fun twist on Chinese cuisine! I recommend this for people because it’s not your average Chinese restaurant!
