I tried an Earle sandwich. It was what you’d expect for bar food. The highlight of this place is the friendly staff. I’d definitely come back. Very friendly people and an oasis in the more touristy places.

For the location and the price, this place is excellent. It’s located at Coligny Plaza and was not crowded on an otherwise busy Saturday evening. The menu is pretty limited with(duh) mostly sandwiches as fare. Price is right and service was good. However, it’s dark and fairly drab — probably hasn’t been redecorated in many years. It’s a small place but was cozy. Highlights: Mahi Mahi bites were delicious and all the food was fresh. Excellent selection of beer. Friendly and fast service.

Great small pub feel and fantastic service. I had a wonderful cod sandwich with coleslaw and a surprisingly tasty pickle! If you’re looking for a low key place with great pub fare and a good beer to pair with it, look no further. Also, it’s just a stones throw from the beach!

Great sandwich! I snagged the Earl with the home chips, wife had the reubin with fries. Food came quick. Kids enjoyed their chicken tenders. Not many places to sit but didn’t have to wait. Only got 2 refills on my drink. I did see they have some quirky rules like 20% added for 5 or more folks, can’t share a plate.

Did I just leave Hilton Head and walk into an English pub? No, not for the beer, but I did just enter into a comfortable bar and have an awesome conversation with Starr(the personable bartender). The drinks and food were quick coming and you just cannot beat the service.

Run of the mill joint. Dark and damp inside but the service was fine. The menu was super hard to read but the food was delicious. French dip was on point; loaded with roast beef and flavorful au ju for dipping. I had the salmon over a bed of lettuce and the fish was so fresh and flavorful. My mom had the grilled cheese and it was grilled to perfection and super cheesy.

Was in Hilton for the day, wanted Pub food. I was directed to his lace in a Tourist area. Sat outside, great day, until the food came. How can you mess up chicken scripts and chips? They did, very dry, fried too long. I had to get up go inside to get silverware for my wife since only one was brought out. 2 cats running around looking for food, very sad”. I know it’s a Tourist area but no excuse, this place was there for many many years and should be on their best. Not worth the stop. Frank G

Food was OK., basic greasy pub fare. Service was ok… Until the waiter brought me my receipt and felt it was ok to add 20% gratuity to our check for a family of 5, 3 of which are kids! Who says/thinks this is ok or even appropriate? Stay away travelers! Crooks! Can I give NOSTARS???

Walked in with 3 people and said, «we’d like that booth please». Waitress said, «no, I need you to sit at that table». I said, «we’d really like a booth, it’s not very crowded.» Waitress — «I SAID ‘sit at the table’». Turned around and walked out and went to Steamers for a fantastic lunch with a happy, nice wait staff.

I love pub food — sometimes there’s nothing like a big juicy bar burger, fries and beer. The burgers here however taste like frozen Bigbox burgers heated up and the clam chowder was from a can. 20% gratuity for subpar, unfriendly service — was automatically added onto our bill which we almost didn’t notice. May stop in for a quick drink at the bar but would not return here for a meal.

I come for the Earle. Huge sandwich smothered with roast beef on a long kaiser roll. The horseradish is strong, the way it should be. All in all, great pub food with better prices than most places down here on the island.

I had wanted to stop in here on our past few visits. My wife and I ate lunch and it qas terrific. We had the«Earl» sandwich and she had the«swept the floor» burger. They were both great. Will definitely add this to the list of places to return to each visit.

We actually found this restaurant using Unilocal and decided to eat there because of the good reviews and we were not disappointed. Don’t come expecting anything too fancy just your basic pub food but it’s basic pub food done right. The restaurant is small so probably not a great place for larger parties we had six and that worked just fine. Service was quick and accommodating even creating a sandwich that wasn’t on the menu for one of the people in our party and they also split up one kids meal on two separate plates for our kids they can never finish two. I had the chicken tender sandwich great breading on the tenders and was served with one of the best bbq sauces I’ve had. Just a quick thing you should know they do not split checks they have a small staff and all checks are hand written so you probably want to plan on one person paying and splitting it up later. Will definitely plan on eating here again next time we are in Hilton Head and I would recommend you check it out.

We stop in here every year for lunch and always have consistently good food. It’s not glamorous, but the décor is interesting. Lots of memorabilia and other fun things on the wall. The restaurant doesn’t have especially high capacity but I’ve only ever been in for lunch so I’ve never really seen whether or not it’s an issue. The food is good. Simple, but in a good way. Lots of standard pub fare, often with a southern or seafood flair. I always get the crab cake sandwich and it is delicious. My fiancé gets the chicken finger sandwich and says it’s really good. They season their chicken really well and it tastes hand breaded. Not the best value on the block, but by no means outrageous either. Definitely my favorite coligny lunch spot!

If you’re expecting a quaint family atmosphere, this isn’t your place. I love that it is a bar with a great burger. If you’re looking for a place on the island for a great burger and a beer, this is the place. Get the chips, too!

Ok, not great. Staff a bit grumpy, food pretty standard bar food. Automatically added gratuity for family of 6? Too many other choices in HH, you can do better.

My friends and I stayed at a nearby hotel and were looking for a place to get a bite to eat. We stumbled on this place right as the kitchen was closing but decided to hang out and have a beer anyway. Starr, the bartender, was great. We had a few beers and played the jukebox and just generally had a good time. After a few drinks, Starr offered to reopen the kitchen make us a couple of orders of fish and chips. The food was excellent and we very much appreciated her doing that for us. This place is perfect to have have a cold beer, play some tunes on the juke, eat some excellent pub food, and enjoy great service. I will definitely return next time I am in Hilton head.

My mom, sister and I stumbled across this place and the decent prices and menu drew us inside for dinner. Unfortunately, we had some of the worst service I’ve ever experienced in a restaurant. It pains me to write this review because I really try to always say at least something positive in my reviews(and generally, they’re all positive because I’m pretty easy to please), but I still cannot believe the treatment we received here. Our server was an older woman and things started to go bad when I asked her for a list of draft beers. The selection didn’t interest me, so I asked her if they had a list of bottles and she basically told me I could go up to the bar to look for myself. So, I went up to the bar, looked over the selection and went back to my table. When she didn’t come back over after upwards of ten minutes(while walking past us over and over again and refusing to make eye contact with us), I finally went back to the bar and ordered my beer there. After this, she finally came back to take our order. She was pleasant enough to my mom and sister, but did not look in my direction at all when she took my order. Once she brought our food our to us(which was okay), she never came back to our table again. Seriously — NOTONCE. She never checked on us, asked us how the food was or if we needed anything else… NOTHING. Finally, when we were all done eating, she came back over to our table, put the check down on our table and walked away without a word. Meanwhile, she was bustling about between all the other tables in the place, talking and actually looking at the other people who were there. Since she never came back to our table after dropping off the bill, I finally went to the bar to pay. And for the first and only time in my life, I left a tip(far) below 20%. I still cannot figure out what I did to upset this woman so much… could my distaste for the beers they offered on tap have been that off-putting to her? I’ll never know… but I do know that if I ever find myself in Hilton Head again, I will NEVER return to this place.
