If you want to feel like you’re actually in the UK, this isn’t the place. However, if you want to feel like you’re in a simulation of a British pub, they have it perfectly done, with many of the main meals named after famous British golf courses. Had brunch there one Saturday, basic breakfast food done well though nothing spectacular. The Scotch Egg was nice, but $ 7 for one small egg seems a bit much. That being said, was very irritated by their inexcusable lack of attention to food safety: we had called ahead the day before and spoke to the server right away about our son’s peanut and tree nut allergies and were told that they don’t use peanuts and tree nuts in anything, and then brought out my wife’s bread pudding for dessert covered in shaved almonds with the excuse of «I forgot». No harm no foul, but what might have been a 3 or 4 star rating gets knocked down to 2 for that absent-mindedness.

Great food, absolutely terrible service. Staff is very rude and not helpful. Was expecting the same service that we get at the Bluffton location but was highly disappointed.

This place is awesome. Nice cozy atmosphere, great service and great food. We had the Prime Rib dinner which is available on Wednesday’s. Cooked perfectly and served with a delightful salad, fries and sauteed vegetables. Next day we decided to try their 8oz burgers. Really, the best burger I have ever had! Their fries are served hot and taste great – especially the sweet potato fries. Don’t miss out!

Had dinner at the British Open Pub in the Wexford Shops on Hilton Head Island. It had a fantastic ambiance. The chicken sandwich was delicious. I will go again.

The atmosphere at the British Open Pub is olde English pub and golf — dark woods, hand carved back bar, and a British inspired menu. Choose from Fish & Chips, Bangers & Mash, and a wide range of American fare. including beautiful Chicken Pot Pie. There are several sandwich choices. On Saturday and Sundays, enjoy a full brunch. The bar offers several beer choices and something you don’t find everywhere… Pimms…which is a traditional British alcohol. You often hear that British food can be bland… maybe in Britain, but definitely not at the British Open Pub.

Four of us really enjoyed our Sunday evening dinner here. I suggest you make a reservation in case it is as crowded as it was when we arrived(off season). We did have a reservation and had to wait a bit but not terribly long. The staff was very nice(and we saw them pleasantly dealing with some grouchy people). We highly recommend the onion soup, fish and chips, burgers and the lobster pie. Quite a bit more on the menu looked very good as well and we will definitely be back.

Great food with a British flare. We got tried the ROYALLYTHAMBEEFCOTTAGEPIE, which is their version of Shepherd’s Pie. It was was good, but not the best thing we tried. We also got the ST. ANDREW’S FISHANDCHIPS. Classic British fish and chips that will not disappoint. The star of course was the LOBSTERPOTPIE; rich, creamy, and full of lobster… Yumm! I want some now.

There’s something about this place that makes you want to burst through the door and sound off with a resounding«BULLY» like one might do in jolly ol’ England. A great spot for an after dinner pint with the mates, or a quiet dinner with the misses. While the English are not known for the exquisiteness of their cuisine, the British Open Pub offers fare with an Southern American touch that is sure to please even the most discerning palate. The bar is expansive and complete, well stocked with whatever your heart desires. Try a Bass Ale or Guinness if you want to make your European evening complete.

We eat here several times a year — usually once per visit. The food is British, so unless you’re a fan, don’t go. They staff is lovely, the place is cozy, and they have pretzel bread appetizer thing I would walk through fire to get, and the rest of the menu is quite nice, too. They have a great beer selection, also.

Excellent food and service! Arrived late on a Sunday evening and was welcomed and provided excellent service. My husband ordered traditional fish and chips and I had salmon. Both were excellent with an outstanding atmosphere.

Went here with my family for dinner. Fell in LOVE with the lobster pot pie. Absolutely amazing and packed full of lobtser. For 25 $ it was a steal if you ask my. Id spend more for that. Yeah, it was that good. My fiancé got the bangers and mash. He too loved every bit. The sweet potato fries were perfect. Needless to say, so pleased we came back the fay after for the Sunday brunch. His benedict was to die for. Best he has ever had. I had something more simple but still did not disappoint! The english muffins were an A+. The scones as well. Nice selection if freah juices too. The cranberry was nice and soft and the pineapple was smooth and sweet. I highly recommend going!

I must say the lobster pot pie was to die for! They did not skimp out in the lobster in it. It was real not the fake stuff and very large chunks of it too. Everyone at my table tried it and are planning the next trip to make sure they ordered the lobster pot pie! Now that’s not to say the other items we had weren’t good, lobster roll was great if your looking for sandwich style food, fish n chips were very fresh and great crisp not soggy as I sometimes find fish n chips. I must also add that the baked potato casserole was to die for. I had that as one of my side dishes along w the veg of the day. Umm the veg of the day was meech for me as it was jus canned peas n carrots. Not a fan of any canned veggies. Anything else you order food and drink wise you can’t go wrong. I also was pleased to know they were open during off hours, a lot of places close during the 2 – 5 time frame and are only open for breakfast and dinner. I figure Well it is a pub so it should be open early till late shouldn’t it? Stop by and get u sum good pub food!

Excellent food, drinks, service, and atmosphere! They were super accommodating considering we have 2 toddlers! The hostess brought the girls crackers to munch on while we waited for our food. We will definitely return in the future!

We ate here twice during our week at HHI. Fish and chips were great, as well as the fried shrimp. Super nice staff… service was great. We accidentally left our son’s sippy cup the first night… came back the next night and it was there waiting. Staff remembered us from the previous night’s dinner, which was nice. Next time I’m trying the lobster pot pie!

Steak salad meat had long piece of gristle. Could not cut through even with steak knife. Waitress took 10% off check. Not enough to compensate for poor preparation. Companions meal of soup and sandwich was acceptable.

Miss Alice says the She Crab soup is wonderful. We both ordered the lunch portion of the Fish and Chips. I was disappointed. I always find the tempura type breading too overwhelming especially with two smaller size portions of fish. You don’t get to taste the fish. The fries were too crispy and rather flavorless without ketchup. Such a shame.

Delicious bangers and mash. The only place on the island I know where you can get such British style food. The bar is very cozy and the service is pleasant.
