We happened upon this place when were going to Harbour Town after the Christmas holiday. We were looking for a nice but casual restaurant. Since it was off season, it was not crowded and we had no parking issues — I can imagine that it would be quite busy in the summer. My husband and I both did luncheon specials. I had the Chicken Pot Pie which was homemade with nice chunks of chicken, veggies and a tasty cream sauce covered in puff pastry– very yummy. My husband had a grilled Pimento Cheese Sandwich — cheese was homemade and homemade Tomato Dill Soup which he also enjoyed. They had the best unsweetened tea– a spice tea– as well. The service was also very good. I would go back there when visiting the HHI area again.

Time & Date of visit: Saturday night, 9pm. 9÷6÷14 Party Size: 5 Location/Ambiance: We chose to seat on the patio section as three of our guests like to smoke quite frequently. Be forewarned, the patio is completely open on 2/4ths so you might have extra guest try to join your table that are the insect variety. One manage to climb on the table to get a sample of the spinach dip that fell on the floor. I think they could do better and have some mesh screen linings. Service: Our server was prompt on the drink orders, though he did forget small requests for orange slices for our bluemoon beers the first and second time asking. Third time is the charm it seems or after being asked by one of the girls. The appetizers came out very shortly after the rounds of water. What we waited the most was for our entrees maybe close to 20 mins. By the time they did come out, we were pretty much the only table left on the patio and the only few left in the whole restaurant. We also were NOT informed by the server that one of guest was about to order a $ 32 beverage, the * mule. A heads up on what the charge for so that there are no shocking surprises on the bill when it arrives would have been considerate. Food/Beverages: Tuna wonton: This appetizer was slightly bigger when there was a truffles in Atlanta right across from Lenox mall making it easier to share and just being a meal itself if you wanted a salad. But it was still as tasty. The dressing compliments well and does not over power. New Orleans Shrimp: I was hoping more for the dish, but overall I can say it’s «ok» not too outstanding, but good to play it safe. The pasta was cooked al dente. The shrimp could have been more pieces but still prepared well. I just wasn’t wow’ed by the sauce from being spoiled from other restaurant experiences. Baby Back Ribs: Even though this isn’t a BBQ joint… YOUWILLNOTBELETDOWNBYTHERIBS. I didn’t even order this, but I wish I did. One of our table guests asked me about this dish since I’ve dine at their closed Atlanta location, and being biased due to real bbq places, I told her I was iffy. Good thing she still ordered it anyway. It was a good amount of ribs and I’m glad she also shared a piece with me. Summary: The ribs and tuna wonton are a must try. Service can be a little slow on a busy night on the patio. Do not assume that a drink will be in the norm of the realm of $ 10 – 12.

I’ll have to agree parking can be a bit of a hassle. They might think about a valet service to get around the lot dynamics. A very cozy restaurant with substantial outdoor seating. A well rounded menu and fantastic wait staff made this an absolutely fantastic dining experience.

The service was amazing! The food was yummy. I got the cra cakes and they were outstanding. I’m a tough critic of crab cakes too. I rarely find crab cakes in restaurants I like. It had a lot of crab and not a lot of filler. I LOVE their whooped chive butter and fresh bread. Their seafood is fresh. I feel like this place is. Good value as well.

Ordered a steak medium-rare, got well done. No problem, waiter was happy to get me a new one. New steak arrived very quick, obviously didn’t rest and all the juice ran out when I tried to cut it with a knife that hasn’t been sharpened in a year. It also didn’t taste very good so that really didn’t help. The bbq mango salmon was ok, though the sauce was overpowering. I guess the tomato soup was ok though it was ½ cream so tough to screw that up. Service was pretty good though and everyone was nice, but this certainly is not enough to come back here.

We came here to watch a football game on their patio, and after asking 3 times for the sound to be turned on for the TV, still no response. The alcoholic drinks were bitter and sour, had to send it back. And a frog jumped on our table and on both my gf and I during dinner. To top it off. We had 5 flies surrounding and landing on our food the entire meal. Will never come here again

We came early so it wasn’t too crowded. Lovely atmosphere. For dinner, I went with the Chicken Pot pie and it was good, my only complaint would be that it was more of a bowl of chicken pot pie with a puff pastry on top rather than an actual baked pie. It was delicious — the buttermilk whipped mashed potatoes were fantastic — light and fluffy — and the green beans were also exceptional with a nice blend of flavor. The ribs were«lovely; the meat fell right off the bones and didn’t have too much sauce, just the right amount» and they were followed by a hot towel :) Good price and overall, a wonderful meal in HHI.

Truffles was great for our last dinner on the Island! There was a nice wine selection and everyone at our table got something different. It was rainy so parking was tough, but that is my only complaint. I would happily come back here if given the opportunity. Our server was attentive and the food came out just as we ordered.

Great ambience. For appetizer I had a crab cake, which was good but size small. It jut looks big bc they flatten it. I like how they had a good portion of crabs with it. I had the filet with mashed potatoes and green beans. Very tasty and tender. The blondie was delicious. Good portions for the price.

We had a mixed result, but overall pretty positive. My wife went with Unilocal reviewers and the meatloaf. She barely ate any, and didn’t like how«sagey» it was(her words). I had the filet, which was prepared perfectly and was delicious. We didn’t care for how dark it was inside or how it was difficult to seat 5 at our table. Positive experience overall though.

To start, I’ll give my main beef about Truffles — parking. Last night, we got the second to last space in the Truffles lot, and the restaurant was only half full at most. And the lot itself is very tight. Most times you are forced to wander around looking, and being told by adjacent restaurants you can’t park there. The dining experience was super, though. Two of us had cocktails, which were very refreshing and reasonably priced,($ 10). I especially enjoyed the cohito, it had really unusual coco flavor. The only appetizer we got was the crab cake — plenty of crab flavor, but the wasabi mayo with it provides a nice complement, subtle, not overwhelming heat. For entrees, we had: Filet mignon — my son thought it was a 5⁄5. I had a piece and agreed. Sesame tuna — I had this, done medium, thought it was 4.5÷5. Retained just enough fish taste complemented well by the sesame seeds crusted on the surface. My only complaint is that the green beams did not have the tips cut off — I thought it was fairly standard to do so and I always do it myself to prepare them. Baby back ribs — 4.5, my daughter had these. I sampled them, they were very juicy and tender, she loved them too. Chicken salad — my wife really liked this too. She also gave it 4.5÷5 Service was also very good. Each element of the meal came out at the expected time. The ultramodern, fully automated bathrooms were also a notable feature.

Truffles is a place we visit year after year. Always pleased with our meals. They take reservations for indoors or outdoors. Beautiful setting for family meals to romance. Food is well prepared. Iced tea is a house blend called orange spice. Everyone satisfied and ready to return.

We ate here on our last night of our vacation. We were pleasantly surprised. The atmosphere was subdued and active at the same time. A relief after eating at a few of the more touristy places on HHI. We had the Chicken Pot Pie and the New Orleans pasta dish. Both were excellent. Our server(Julien) was terrific he took care of our requests and was very attentive in doing so. The entire staff was very nice and they worked well as a team. Truffles is on our list for a return visit the next time we are on HHI.

This is a favorite amongst my family and friends. Whenever a large group of us want to go to dinner, Truffles is always our go-to! After living on the island for five years, I never encountered anyone who disliked Truffles! Even though I am a vegetarian, making the menu a lot smaller for me, I can eat here again and again and not get sick of it. There are so many things I love on this menu, but my favorite items are the southwestern salad, the black bean burger, the truffled mac and cheese, and the spinach and artichoke dip. My friends/family, however, rave about the fish. You can’t go wrong here! And make sure you get a blondie for dessert, especially if you are on vacation.

While visiting hilton head me and my boyfriend stumbled upon truffles. We walk in it’s a little dim at first but doable, we were quickly sat and ordered. We tried the coconut shrimp it was amazing fresh shrimp covered with coconut with a mango honey mustard sauce to dip in, I got a half rack of ribs and they were the best ribs ever comming from arizona we have a high expectation of BBQ sauce and by far there was original. My boyfriend tried the shrimp pasta and loves it. The food is fresh and great only downside kind of expensive for family’s. But huge portions so it averages out. Would go back

First off, let me just say that I don’t write reviews but I had to share my amazing experience at Truffles Café on Hilton Head Island. The atmosphere is laid back, cozy, warm and romantic. The service was outstanding, our waitress Addison was so personable, friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. My husband ordered the mango barbecue grilled salmon, the sauce was amazing and the fish was cooked perfectly. I ordered the crab cakes, which were some of the best crab cakes I’ve had in my life. For dessert, my husband ordered the blondie sundae. I ordered key lime pie which was a– m-a-z-i-n-g the blend of tart and sweet with the graham cracker crust brought everything together. Truffles Café will be a definite stop when in Hilton Head Island, I would highly recommend this restaurant.

Meatloaf was outstanding. My wife loved her pimento grilled cheese. The raspberry lemonade hit the spot. Peanut butter pie… wow!

Went here on a busy evening with a reservation. We were promptly seated and our waiter(who will be attending grad school near us, cool!) explained the menu. I ordered a lobster cake appetizer and the grouper which he recommended for dinner – I must admit I’m a grouper virgin. The ambience for dinner was pretty dark but, as another reviewer said, chic. The lobster app came out fairly quickly, and was very good. I will admit again, lobster virgin too. I’d probably get it as an app again but not en entrée – a bit too dense to have 2 or 3. The parmesan glazed grouper came out shortly after, and was delicious. It wasn’t fishy at all, and it was light and packed a good flavor. The mashed potatoes were good, and the green beans were excellent as well. My dad enjoyed his fried shrimp, and mom and sister didn’t love their bland pasta. Service was very good – our waiter was personable and attentive. Prices were pricey but fair for what was served. I’d definitely go back again.

Came in with a group of 5, we sat down and were greeted promptly. We ordered 5 salads, and told our waitress that we were in a bit of a time crunch so we’d like to get our checks when we got our food. Little did we know that 5 salads took approximately 30 minutes to come out of the kitchen. We were very close to getting up and walking out, but the waitress finally came. We asked immediately for to-go boxes and silverware, and she did not bring us our checks. You get the idea… Anyways, it’s a shame to rate this place like this, because the actual food was really great. I just wish they could’ve been attentive(it was slow too, not busy whatsoever!) to our needs and we would’ve had the chance to truly enjoy the food.
