Great tempura soft and flaky, also their chicken Katsu and miso soup and California roll is delicious. A great thing was when you order tea you get your own small teapot. The service was great fast and friendly. I didn’t care for the salad dressing but that’s my only complaint

Meh. I may have ordered wrong(ok I definitely ordered wrong) but was not at all wowed by the Orange Blossom roll. It was basically a California roll topped with salmon. The fish was fresh but the roll was WAY too sweet and just not at all what I was expecting. My friend ordered the Sakura roll and that certainly was better, but still not amazing, I live very close by so I’ll gladly try this place again and *fingers crossed* will have a better update to share next time.

Bleh… I live right across the street so I finally tried this place out and got some sushi to go. I couldn’t even finish my roll. I wish I could get my money back :/Texture of everything was just weird.

We ordered Togo from here and I have to say the sushi is not bad. The rolls are nicely done and the price is comparable to other sushi restaurants. The reason for 3 stars is because the sushi does not look and taste fresh. We order here since it’s by our house but if you want fresh sushi I would recommend going elsewhere.

I stopped in while shopping and ate outside, which was great. I had tempura veggies — really good with the sauce they come with. I ordered two sushi plates and enjoyed both of them, but didn’t finish either one. One had fish and cream cheese stuffed into jalapenos and fried. I would have liked them more if they weren’t fried(but that’s my fault). I enjoyed the other one much more. The wine and the service were both great.

This is by far my favorite sushi bar in Hillsboro. Its a real sushi bar, no carousel, so expect higher quality and a bit higher price. The service is excellent and the sushi amazing. Its perfect to visit by yourself or with family and friends. They offer Japanese beers on tap which is a real treat.

The sushi itself was absolutely amazing. Very fresh & they had a lot of combos that I’ve never seen anywhere else. The Last Samurai roll was one of the best rolls I’ve ever had. The reason for the 3 stars is due to the fact that the service was non existent. Once our servers delivered the food, they literally sat at empty tables on their phone for the rest of the time we were there. Never came to check on us, or ask if we needed anything else. We tried multiple times to get their attention but to no avail & finally had to get up to get boxes & our check.

We have frequented this place more than a dozen times and only to order their Katsu pork curry. Generous portion with the right taste and a great ambiance to boot. Their kids meal is a little crazy though in price, about $ 8-$ 9.

I love love love this place so much! When I lived in this area I would frequent it quite often and I would always take my out-of-state family and friends when they were visiting. I am a HUGE fan of tempura so I always ordered the Samurai roll and I was never ever disappointed. One downside is that they are a tad bit slow on their service. However, it’s not enough for me to stop going there. Best sushi ever.

came here on a weekday during lunch and enjoyed pretty decent rolls prices are a bit steep but the taste of some of their rolls were pretty good, not the best but better than most. service is good and the chef works quickly and efficiently. if you have a hankering for sushi and you’re in the area, this place can satisfy your craving

This place was such an unexpected bonus! Since I’m always craving sushi, I need more options that Mio and the others that are close to my house, since they all close at 9 and I don’t eat on a schedule. We found it on our way to the Rock for a last minute dinner on Tuesday. «Do you feel like sushi?” — «Um, yeah, always!» Prompt seating and beverages, great service that was quiet and gave us a ton of space, without being overly absent. Prices are on point with similar spots, and the sushi was good. Flavorful, fresh, attractive. My only 2 complaints, that were minor; not the best miso soup. I ate it, but definitely was disappointed. The Harmony roll was delicious, but really unevenly cut. I didn’t mind and I still ate ALL of it, it was just a bit messy to do so. We’ll return for sure, and it’s a great backup option.

I had lunch here yesterday. It had quieted down from the lunch time crowd. I was greeted by several staff & seated immediately. I ordered shrimp yakisoba noodles & California roll(I admit like sushi but haven’t tried many kinds as of yet) the meal came quickly. Awesome. The roll was great! The shrimp yakisoba dish was not so much. I had to use more soy sauce than I should have to give it flavor & the shrimp however large & appealing looking they looked were undercooked. Since all the staff were so sweet & efficient though I didn’t send it back, didn’t have the heart :-). Maybe at a sushi place the meats ate supposed to be undercooked? IDK. That’s why I gave 4 stars.

Shogun has the best sushi I town. The sushi chef is very good at making fresh sushi. I always ask for the sushi surprise. The fish they use taste very fresh.

Great food, a menu with a wide spectrum of choices and it wasn’t too noisy. We were hankering for a noodle soup and some sushi and this restaurant filled the bill exactly. As I said, the menu was ample enough that it offered sushi, sashimi, ramen soup, and some other Japanese dishes that I have never heard before. Everything was delicious and the portions were just right. We have become fans of this place.

Really nice people but I didn’t care for the food. The beef teriyaki was really beef bulgogi which is fine but not what I wanted. The miso was so-so and the rest just nit that great. But once again really nice owners and I hate to be mean but they need to up the food quality a bit.

This place is OK, just a bit pricey for the quantity. Chirashi was disappointing, which is typically the go-to dish at a sushi restaurant. The pieces were paper thin. The sushi deluxe was very good. I would order it again. Spicy tuna was spicy and very good. Saba shioyaki and tempura were good. There are just subtle details that they need to change in order to have repeat customers. First, don’t be cheap and charge $ 2.50 for green tea. You should also charge for ice water too. The staff is not that friendly and looked like they really don’t want to be there. This is what dropped from 4 stars to 3 stars. It’s much better than the previous Japanese restaurant in that location. I think it’s a great addition to the shopping mall, which tends to lack good restaurants.

Maybe it was because it was 3:30 and I hadn’t eaten since breakfast, but I thought the sushi here was really good and my daughter loved her selections as well. We sat at an indoor table near the wide-open doors leading onto the patio seating and it was just a beautiful day. Service was spot on and here’s the food items we can vouch for: –Shrimp tempura($ 2 for each piece) My daughter rates places on the shrimp tempura and this got two thumb’s up. –Miso soup($ 1.50) Quite good –Inari: My daughter’s other favorite(sweet rice wrapped in bean curd) –Fatty salmon belly sushi($ 5.50) This was FANTASTIC and the fish was so fresh, it reminded me of Crazy Sushi in Sherwood, which is the best out there –Fatty yellowtail sushi($ 5.50) Was also good, but not as melt-in-your-mouth perfect as the fatty salmon belly –California Roll($ 4.50) My daughter’s 3rd standard item. She thought it rocked. –Sunrise roll with tuna, salmon and mango: Good. I’ll get more regular sushi next time. Only complaint? 50 cents for each soda refill. Why? The markup on soda from a fountain is HUGE. No need to nickel and dime folks on that item. But regardless, I’d return here any day. Wish it was closer to home.

3.5 Bento baby. This is how we fortified ourselves before shoe shopping at REI for Princess, who needed sports sandals ASAP. Shoe shopping with her kinda sucks. I tried to flip a coin with hubby to see who’d do it alone but he was having none of that. Oh no. We all have to go. Spoilsport. Anyway I strategized dinner first so she’d be in a better mood and we met here for an early is conveniently located near REI and has outdoor tables or seating inside with outside breezes if you like. I like how the doors open up. We were inside and outside at the same time! Its a pretty little place. Pleasant servers. Water in carafes on the table. I love that. All the bento boxes come with miso(good), icebergy salad with a mayonaissey dressing(eh), rice(fine), 2 chicken gyoza(from frozen probably but tasty enough but they had sauce already on them which made them soggy… bah!), a tempura shrimp and two tempura veggies… hubby calls that veggie roulette since he hates most tempura veggies. I liked them but they needed a little salt and a better dipping sauce. We swapped with each other trying to get what we wanted. Carrot, potato, yam, zucchini, acorn«squish» as my family calls it… not with affection. Besides the predetermined contents of the bento you choose a main thing and a sushi item from the list. Options are good. Princess had teriyaki salmon and inari(subbed in for fish sushi). Hubby had chicken yakisoba and spicy tuna roll(that was *really* good he gave me a piece) and I had miso glazed black cod(tiny but delicious) and nigiri. 3 small but tasty nigiri. I thought this was a good experience. Princess also loved her deep fried green tea ice cream. Our bento boxes ranged from $ 12.95 to $ 15.95. They do have a kids menu.(Salmon is not on it but salmon is NEVER on the kids menu).Their sushi rolls looked good too(we saw a Cancun roll go by that looked amazing). There were only a few histrionics at REI this time. Whew. I credit the Bento. But next time I will have a cocktail. They have those too.
