I’m not a vegetarian — not even close! So I was pretty sure I would be going hungry here. I ended up having probably the only non-vegetarian dish they had, which was a Chicken salad, and was very pleasantly surprised. I can’t say I’ll be rushing back, only because the menu don’t offer the carnivore in me much, but as a place to eat and have a great meal — this turned out to be a winner.

Im so conflicted… $ 10 for a smoothie I ended up throwing away bc it was so gross it was actually undrinkable? no bueno. but super reasonably price gluten free goodies that were still delicious the day after? yes please! I dont understand it, but there you have it. I would say skip anything in a bottle and go straight for the treats in the glass case and you wont be disappointed.

This is my healthy indulgence. I find myself craving the Quinoa bowl which surprises me! I have also loved every soup I have tried. Occasionally, I get a drink, smoothie, cold oatmeal dish. I have loved all but a couple of smoothies(which I found undrinkable). However, their pricing will leave you scratching your head. I am willing to pay more for awesome, healthy food though I really can’t help but feel ripped off when I come here. A tiny bowl of soup for $ 9(and you don’t even get a cracker or roll with it?). Anyway, I love the option to get über healthy food but the pricing keeps me from coming here more than once a week. If I was rich I would come here .

Their avocado toast is my favorite. I keep trying avocado toast other places and being disappointed that it’s not as good as The Source’s. They’re gluten free peanut butter chocolate chip cookies are also delicious.

Their quinoa bowl/salad is the BOMB. After reading the description I wasn’t really sure if it would be *that* great, but it really was. A unique blend of ingredients and flavors you won’t find anywhere else. Don’t skip the soft boiled egg! Yes, it’s crazy expensive. I wouldn’t come here everyday but it’s a good spot for brunching with girlfriends. On that note, good luck finding a table during peak hours.

I am updating my review to drop a star because after having been here a few times now, I can’t help but feel robbed every time I come. The prices are just SO inappropriately high. The food is still good, but the prices are exorbitant. Today I grabbed a bottle of aloe water with chia seeds. The bottle wasn’t labeled with a price(none of them are), and so I guesstimated that it would be $ 7(which was still high in my head). By the time they totaled up my coffee, aloe water, and brownie, my bill was $ 21!!! The aloe water was $ 11. I continue to come here because it is still one of the few on-the-go healthy choices in the area, but I do wish the prices would come in check.

Holy moly. Went here for breakfast today and I couldn’t have been more satisfied. The service is outstanding, the owner herself works there and gives each customer very special attention, answering all their questions. She is a sweetheart. The food is top quality, organic, no preservatives, no antibiotics, no fuss. I was amazed at the Quality and it was just delicious. The avocado toast is DIVINE!!! I also ordered a vanilla latte, made with almond milk, and though I don’t like almond milk normally… they made it Simply Delicious. I really wanted to order a second one! It was an A+. The best part of this place for me, is that normally I have a very sensitive stomach. When I eat out I tend to get bloated afterwards and am uncomfortable. This is the first restaurant I’ve eaten at, where I got no discomfort, no bloating, stomach remained calm and flat :-) That is a testament to the quality of the food here. Couldn’t recommend this place more! LOOOOVE Source Café, will be back next week! Save me some avocados!

My favorite place in Hermosa! I usually come about once a week. I’m on a restricted diet, so I love that everything is fresh and healthy with clearly labeled ingredients. They offer gluten-free, vegetarian, vegan and paleo options, which is awesome! My favorite juice is Healthy Glow, and I love the Turkey Wrap and Spicy Veggie Wrap. Their desserts are also amazing! I always get the paleo options which are just the right amount of sweetness for me :) Love this place!

I absolutely love this place, I’m down in Hermosa every week and I always have to stop in, whether it’s to get a Matcha Latte or the Chicken Salad or one of their baked goods or smoothies… it’s a must for me. I only eat organic and paleo, so this place is perfect. I love that they also cater to Vegans and Gluten Free as well and most of the Gluten Free products are made without tapioca flour, which I love as well. I haven’t explored the whole menu yet, but am making my way and nothing I have tried thus far has been disappointing. It is so great to have a place like this to go as it’s hard to find a non-vegan place that serves organic. I wish they would open one in West LA, like Venice or Santa Monica area, I think this place would be just as popular here as well… hint hint… If you haven’t tried this place you must, it’s every Health nuts dream… come true!

Nice refreshing selection of juices. Very busy(packed coffee & juice bar) on a Sunday morning. Walked here after my pier-to-pier run. There is meter parking and a parking lot nearby. A wide variety of choices from juices, smoothies, elixirs, panini a, toasts, bowls, wraps, salads, coffees and teas. Didn’t want to hold up the lines and I couldn’t decide on what juice to order. I went with the cashier’s recommendation: the«healthy glow.» The juice was great. Ordered a apple donut which was a very tasty healthy treat. I think is is vegan and gluten free.

Source is great. Healthy, Clean and fresh. Fast internet, plenty of seating although it does get crowded. Only thing is that it’s pricey! I got a packaged chicken salad(shredded chicken mixed with herbs, pesto, nuts) and a vanilla latte. These two items were $ 18!

Was staying in Hermosa Beach on business and was looking for good coffee and a healthy breakfast. The Source Café did not disappoint! I had the Avocado Toast, which was swoon-worthy. And, they had almond milk at the counter for coffee(always a plus). The staff was very friendly and more than willing to provide their favorite recommendations.

Ultra yummy and fresh! My friend and I decided to try this place for breakfast on a Saturday around 9:30AM. It was busy but we were able to snag a great table outside and in the sun. The menu is extensive and full of amazing juices, smoothies and elixirs. The breakfast foods are also stellar with a range of paninis, fruit, granola and toasts. They also have a refrigerated case of some take away packaged items. We decided upon the granola bowl with Heart Beet juice and avocado toast with the Turmeric Tonic. The food was absolutely delicious and the juice/tonic were filling and so fresh. Outdoor seating permits dogs. The have a little water container inside so help yourself! We both agreed that we would return to The Source for breakfast/brunch. It was a perfect start to the weekend. I also will be back to pick up some juice on my way to work during the week. Xo

By far and away the best eatery in Hermosa Beach. The friendliest atmosphere, the best healthful and honest foods, and a great location. I’ve made The Source a must-go spot 4−5x a week. It is close to home, my gym, and not just the location, I’ve made their healthy approach to eating a lifestyle. I strive to eat wheat-free and The Source has lots of awesome muffins, cookies, and wraps that are wheat-free, gluten-free, and use nut flours or other types of ingredients. I also try my best to go sugar free and The Source has food and drink options with natural sweeteners too. The chefs and staff are super kind… the food is beyond good… and the extensive menu will keep you coming back. If that’s not enough they have the best GF/Vegan Pumpkin Bread on God’s Green Earth… pair that with a cup of fresh organic coffee and spend 20 minutes in heaven. Do yourself a favor and try it out!

I see ‘The Source Café’ hustling and bustling from Bikram Yoga directly across the street basically every morning. I thought due to the amount of traffic I see going in and out of this place that it had to be worth a shot. On the day of my visit I arrived early and had some business to attend to after lunch so I took my car otherwise I would have walked. I arrived shortly before 2pm on a weekday and had to park almost 2 blocks away but totally understandable that ‘Pier Ave’ is all about timing. If traveling here by vehicle and not familiar with the area bring quarters for the meters. If you are familiar with the area you know where in Hermosa that is close by to find ‘free’ parking 24÷7÷365. I was excited to see ‘The Source’ was GMO-free as well as offering vegan, vegetarian, paleo & gluten free options. Equally importantly to me when reviewing this menu was they had wraps. As someone who has been cooking /preparing food for 35+ years I am a firm believer when eating at a new establishment no matter the review, no matter the word of mouth and/or rating«KEEPYOURORDERSIMPLE» until you know the taste, quality and attention to detail coming out of the kitchen. I walked into ‘The Source’ for the first time and immediately noticed how tight/cramped the seating was for those dining in was. I was kind of caught off guard that this spot which also serves as a coffee/tea establishment didn’t really smell like anything to me. I didn’t smell coffee, tea, bread or any form of food cooking, maybe it was just good ventilation or just the time of my visit but the warning signals went up. I approached the cashier and ordered as described above something simple. I went with a gluten free wrap, turkey, avocado, tomato, red onion and romaine lettuce with mustard. I was a little surprised when I was told ‘we do not do build-a-wraps here,’ followed by ‘we do not have mustard.’ The cashier quickly suggested several other wrap options all of which came with a sauce or dressing mixed into it and not something I could see my sensitive stomach could handle. I described my sensitive stomach issue to the cashier as I was literally about to cancel my eating plans when the friendly cashier told me they could build me what I was asking for. I repeated several times the words ‘dry,’ ‘no dressing’ & even had the cashier repeat the order to ensure I would get what I ordered. I was given a numbered block of wood to place on my table so the person bringing the order from kitchen who didn’t take my order and who can’t ensure my order was correct knows where to bring the said food. At the time of my visit I placed my order with the cashier not a waiter/waitress. I sat down at the only available table which happened to be outside. The table also happened to be covered in other folks half eaten and consumed food/sugary drinks. The food on my table and other customer’s tables were attracting a great deal of flies. How this spot does not have some system in place to minimalize this with the price paid per meal is astonishing. My friend was running late and when they arrived 15 minutes later our table had still yet to be cleared of dirty dishes and shockingly my food had yet to arrive. My friend went inside and ordered a coffee and actually had the barista make their drink to order and said friend was back at my table again before my food arrived. My simple order finally arrived on a small block of wood with barely enough space for the small wrap itself. There was no knife delivered just a fork wrapped in napkin. As I looked at the wrap I asked my friend does this look like mayonnaise or some sort of dressing covering all of the veggies in this wrap? My friends answer was ‘it sure is.’ I advised the ‘busy boy’ who had delivered my food who was now in the process of clearing our table that this is not what I ordered. This set into motion the reviewing process, the verification process and another employee came out to the patio area and verified my order again which I thought had been done the first time when I repeated it 3 times to the cashier. Now was the second version of the old military saying of ‘hurry up and wait.’ I waited for my food to be delivered to the table a second time. This time when I was finally able to eat the food was void of any flavor. I mean the turkey tasted like nothing to me. The first thing I thought when biting into the turkey was it was a boiled turkey breast because I have boiled my share of turkey & chicken before and it tasted exactly the same. As a Hermosa Beach resident and someone who supports local businesses it was hard for me to write this honest review. I was disappointed with the attention to detail, timing, cleanliness, as well as the quality of food that came out of the kitchen. This could just me being picky or just catching them at the wrong time but there is ZERO chance I come back. In my opinion price per head here is not matched by the same level of service…

I strolled in here with my lady for a late lunch the other day, and neither of us left disappointed. First, the food. I enjoyed a turkey wrap with a bonanza smoothie. My lady enjoyed the Palio chicken panini with a latte. My smoothie was very rich tasting, thanks in part to the high quality ingredients. That definitely makes it worth the price. My wrap was very good also. However the Palio chicken sandwich was the real standout. The bread was super soft and fell apart in your mouth, and the chicken was just as soft. It was really good and really different. My lady is a huge coffee drinker. And she LOVED her latte. Considering that she’s not easily impressed when it comes to a cup a’ joe, I’d say you should most certainly give one of their specialty coffees a try. I do wish the menu was a little larger, and that the juices were a little less expensive. But that’s just nitpicking. This is a great place with a great atmosphere and friendly staff. So take a detour from the pier, and treat yourself to a great sandwich and coffee.

I love everything about this place but it’s on the pricey end. If you’re looking for fresh and healthy but delicious at the same time this is the spot. Dog friendly and with outdoor seating as well. My friend got the avocado toast — it’s so simple but so good. I got a quinoa salad which also very filling and tasty with hummus and avocados. Anything with avocados is automatic win. Their coffee also good. It’s a nice brunch spot to come to.

The food here is super healthy, well prepared and presented, and affordable for the quality. The service is awesome… everyone is so chill and friendly. Total neighborhood go-to place for a quick nutritious delicious meal with friends or solo. My fav table decoration is the sunflowers. Sometimes the dogs(or their owners) on the outside little patio can be obnoxious and oblivious to others who are dining there but that is pervasive in the South Bay. If your looking for an unusual but super tasty meal this is your place. Highly recommend.

This is the epitome of a beachy-«green juice obsessed”-fit and beautiful people-typical LA brunch spot. Cleanly tucked next to a bright blue establishment next door, The Source Café is in one of the many oceanside glass door brunch spots along Hermosa Beach. Came here on a Sunday morning with a good friend and we both were looking for HEALTHYFOOD with our starving appetites. We paid for parking(hard to get street parking in these narrow streets) and waltzed in and immediately felt zen in their minimalist and organic space. I think the owner or manager of that day was Ellen. She was SUCH a sweetie. Ellen, you didn’t know it, but you totally impressed me with your customer service skills. Their store welcomes FiveStar card holders, but I didn’t have my card on me. After trying a couple of telephone numbers to no avail, she told me to come back again and tell whoever was working that Ellen told me I could put 2 points in my card account. What a beaut, thanks girl… but little did you know that I’m actually from out of town! Your good karma will take you far! I enjoyed a ginger and pineapple«zen moment» for $ 9. I know it’s way overpriced for my tastes, but I made a «treat yoself» move and am so glad I tried it! I could totally make this at home for a cheaper price, but the grand service and beautiful atmosphere begged me to try everything I wanted! I brunched on their white fish toast, which was nicely prepared and aesthetically pleasing to the eyes. Overall, everything was cleanly made and overwhelmingly small business-meets-big heart and service. This Unilocaler is a happy one. The only change I’d say is to lower the prices of the drinks. However, The Source has great and loyal clientele, that I hardly think the pricing is an issue. Another change that could be great is to open up the space and allow for larger parties. I wouldn’t come here for a group of five or larger for convenience and peace-keeping’s sake. It’s annoying when other parties are being very obnoxious whether on purpose or not, so I’d hate to do that to anyone else in this small space. I would totally come here again. Having lived in San Diego for a while, I know my heart loves the ocean and the beachy vibes of Hermosa Beach. Can’t wait to recommend this place to those who will be in the area! Protip: This place is PERFECT for beachside strolling or browsing lazily through the other boutiques/stores/restaurants. From the Source, it takes about 10 minutes to briskly walk through the Strand and down to Hermosa Beach(with all the volleyball players and nets). LOVELOVELOVE

Absolutely love this place… Located on Pier Ave in Hermosa beach serving healthy and organic eats such as Salads, Wraps, Sandwiches with many gluten free options as well as extensive smoothies and fresh made juices plus paleo baked goods and best Coffee in town. The food presentation is amazing. Seating can be tough sometimes because this small place gets crowded! They also free wi-fi which allows you to get things done while sipping or eating amazing options. Here are some of my favorites drinkable and edible… As far as Juices goes, I always order the turmeric tonic(turmeric, lemon, ginger, cayenne, cinnamon, apple cider vinegar, stevia). Taste good and it is good for you. Heart beet(carrot, beet, kale, ginger, cucumber, lemon, turmeric) Green party(kale, spinach, parsley, cucumber, celery, ginger, green apple, lemon) One of my all time favorite here is the Vegan Avocado toast(cashew cheese, radish, parsley, flax oil, celtic sea salt, sumac) The service is impeccable, with friendly faces always there to greet you.
