So, I saw this place on Unilocal and checked out all the pictures. I was in the parking lot and called them to ask about their baked sushi rolls. A man answered the phone. I was planning to order to go. I asked about the fat boy roll I see photos of on Unilocal. He said they no longer make those. I think he mumbled that was what another chef made. Okay so what about the bbq roll, I see pictures of; same reply. As I am in the middle of talking to him, he starts talking to someone at the place about not needing to turn on lights. I waited a few seconds as he continued to have his conversation, and he didn’t stop. I hung up!!! No order, no visit, no chance of ever going inside. Way to go getting a review of one star without even having the person walk in your doors.

My wife and I came here yesterday afternoon for dinner, based off of the Unilocal reviews. I had the curry Katsura and my wife had the shrimp tempura. The food here is great and their staff is very friendly. If you’re ever in the Hemet area and looking for some good Japanese food, I’d definitely recommend this place!

John and his staff are wonderful! Great sushi! If you like spicy, get the«Double the pleasure» roll. You won’t be disappointed.

I’ve been here only a few times, but each time, the food is amazing and fresh, the staff is nice and provide awesome service, and the sushi chefs and the owner are super attentive and go above and beyond to make sure each and every person present is well taken care of. It’s honestly an impressive experience. It’s nice to see other people provided with the same awesome service as we do each and every time. I highly recommend this place!

It’s too bad this place has gone so downhill. The sushi is ok. The yellowtail collar is totally unseasoned. But really, what gives this place a 1 star is the service. The waitress was mostly rude and if you ask to see the manager don’t hold your breath. They aren’t coming.

While the servers were nice enough, service itself was very slow. It just took so long for them to get our menus, then come and take our order, then give us our drinks to start. We got their pork katsu meal, the only reason we stopped by. The portions were kind of small, but the food was good. Not coming back, though.

Terrible service. My husband and I went with our two kids. We asked to see the manager about a problem with our order waited 15 minutes and he never came. I have never seen such disregard for a costumer concern. We won’t be going back and will be encouraging others to go elsewhere.

I feel bad for rating this place such a low score. I didn’t think this place was necessarily a terrible place to eat but there were too many negatives that I couldn’t let slide. First of all the edamame appetizer they gave out was obviously nuked in the microwave. The skin were withered and they came out piping hot like you know they came straight out of the microwave. Secondly, I had an issue with the execution of their sushi rolls. I ordered two sushi rolls 1. Spicy Hawaiian and 2. Superman Burrito. The Spicy Hawaiian roll came out and it was decent tasting. I did not have any issues with it. The roll that I had an issue with was the Superman Burrito. It was a roll with no rice wrapped in soy paper and cut in half to mimic a burrito. However, the roll came out on top of a bed of greens that was overly dressed leaving the bottom of my «burrito» soggy. Each piece of green was literally dipped in dressing and placed on the plate making it extremely difficult to eat. On top of that, they drenched the top of the«burrito» with two different sauces that made me confused on how to eat the roll. I was unable to use my hands due the wetness of the sauce and I couldn’t use my chopsticks and bite into it without the«burrito» falling apart. Overall great concept on the roll but just execution was failure.

Very disappointed the last few times I’ve been here. I will not be returning. The service is super slow and the food quality and portions are not worth the price.

If I could give a half star I would. I went here for a date night and waited ten minutes for a menu after she directed us to our seats we came 20 min prior to there happy hours end. Mind you this was not intentional and being that this place was referred by a friend I thought I’d give it a try. But the waiter was deliberately taking her time so we would order after happy hour had ended. Sadly I left hungry. I hope wen I go next time I won’t have to deal with such inconsiderate staff. Cause I was fucking hunger dammit I just wanted food. Left after the bad service to Samurai great service and great sushi plus I received my menu as I was seated !!

Our server, Emily was amazing. She was cute, friendly and super helpful. Everytime she spoke to us she said, «Excuse me». I thought that was very thoughtful. It was happy hour!!! $ 4-$ 5 specials, on the regular menu not one roll was priced over $ 15. Everything came out delicious and fresh. The salmon sashimi was cut from the belly and melted in our mouth. I was just moved to area and I am beyond happy I found a place with ramen and fresh fish in dusty olé Hemet! I was very skeptical however, Spicy won me over.

I happened to be in Hemet for work and needed sushi to go for my 10 year olds birthday. I ordered a few different rolls and the small sashimi assortment. They layed it out beautifully on a platter and had it made in 15 minutes. If I’m in Hemet again I will definitely stop by! Loved the albacore roll!

Best sushi in town! I would eat here again and again. The dragon roll is perfect if your not sure what to get. The spicy tuna is great for a quick splash of spice. And the green lip muscles are amazing. The staff are polite and always there if you need anything.

Looked up the reviews before trying this place out. My BF wanted to have a nice dinner out with just us two, with the 4 star review on Unilocal we thought it would be a decent enough place for dinner. The waiter was nice but then seemed frustrated towards our stay because we were undecided at first on what to order. We then ordered the Tiger roll, Spicy Salmon roll with a side of cucumber salad and fried wontons. To start: the cucumber salad was slightly bitter and the cucumbers was too soft to taste. Fried Dumplings was awesome. Tiger roll was slightly dry, the avocado was already brown with a kind of mushy feeling to it. Salmon roll was ok according to my BF. We ordered a Coke for the both of us and the soda was completely dry. After dinner we then proceeded to Walmart(down the street), 5 minutes after walking at Walmart myself and my BF had rushed home to use the restrooms. We had slight diarrhea(sorry for the gross statement). My stomach was so upset that I started to tear because my stomach ache was that bad. I have never eaten anywhere then getting sick right after. We will not be visiting this place ever again.

I’ve been here a few times and nothing really ever strikes me as being so good that it justifies the price. Not bad, not especially good… And most of the rolls are fried, so they offer very little for people who like healthy sushi rolls. I keep wanting to like this spot but they don’t offer AYCE and they don’t have a good happy hour either to balance out their prices. I probably won’t come back unless they start offering better deals. Service has always been nice though!

This place is hands down the best place to get sushi in hemet! I’ve been to Sushi Rays, Samauris, and Hot Wok and Spicy Sushi & Grill makes thise places look like garbage!!! The rolls are HUGE! My husband and I ordered 2 rolls each not knowing how big they are, and needless to say there was no way we could finish them all! And the prices are about the same as I would say Sushi Rays, but the portion sizes are MUCH bigger! And the oysters were soooooo good! I wont eat any other sushi place in hemet besides here now! Custer service was excellent! I loved loved loved this place!!!

The gyoza is a great place to start if you are extra hungry. Yum. Vegetable Udon was fabulous with bouncy noodles and steaming hot. The Spider Roll with soft shell crab, and the Spicy Sushi Roll with shrimp was good but too large to eat with chop sticks. Just grab with your fingers and enjoy. We asked the server for the driest sake possible. It seemed she did not know anything at all about Sake. We accidentally ordered Nigori, which is very sweet! Our second bottle was a better choice, Nama Organic saki. I’d return. The food was delicious and service friendly. This place is in the Target area, around the corner beyond the See’s Candy store. We almost missed it.

This place had decent to really good sushi, I came here at least once a week for the last few months but recently I notice a change, different waitresses, slow service, on sushi, drink etc including wrong orders, the fewer the people the slower the service«we order double the pleasure and it was nasty» flavors were off, fish was dry. Won’t be seeing me here to often from now on.

Not bad, hadn’t been to this place in years. Decided to give it a go and glad we did. Hubby had the shrimp tempura, crunch roll and the baked lobster roll. I went for veggie tempura, super philly roll and some tuna. Our rolls were great and the serving of fish per roll was more than a good amount. Tempura was nice light and crunchy and my veggies were nice and tender. My only ehhh is that I ordered a Lady Roll but didn’t get a Lady Roll. Not sure which roll it was but, I didn’t notice until after I ate a piece that there was no spicy tuna on it. I wasn’t upset though because it was pretty good and since I’d already eaten a piece I figured might as well eat it. All in all this place was great, staff was friendly and attentive and food was great. Prices were on point for the amount of fish they put in the rolls. We’ll be back, especially now that it’s summer time, we always seem to crave more sushi when it’s hot out.
