El Jalapeno

My wife and I stopped to eat here on the recommendation of a friend. There were only 4 occupied tables so it wasn’t busy. The food was decent but the service was very poor. The waitresses played with their cell phones and Facebook while we waited for service. After the meal we had to walk to the register to have our check brought. Also, employees children running around wasn’t good for our dining experience either. We are not unreasonable or stuffy people just expect a decent level of service. Cannot recommend!

Took forever just to take our order. Then longer to recieve our food. I ordered the carne asada plate. It was ok. Also waitress seemed very confused. I wouldnt return.

Came here for a quick lunch and enjoyed it very much. I ordered the camarones vallarta which is a bacon wrapped shrimp over a bed of rice and a side of salad. The shrimps were cooked perfectly leaving the outside of the bacon soft but crisp and leaving the shrimp nice and juicy.

Nice hole in the wall restaurant, cozy atmosphere and great authentic food.
Prices are reasonable and servers are nice.

Went to El Jalapeño for lunch. Had the «El Jalapeño special sandwich» and was not impressed. It was good but not special at all. The water was not very good either I would give the water 5 out of 10 and the ice a 2 out of 10. The service was good and the atmosphere was clean and pleasant.

One of my favorite places to eat. Best Mexican food for sure in hemet love the authentic taste. The waitresses are always so nice and smiling.

Their Albondigas soup is the best around! Enchiladas and tacos are also on point. It’s a great local spot to enjoy with your family.

Worst customer service by far! Walked in at 358pm on a Monday for their taco special. There were 3 gentlemen in the entire establishment. The waitress walked over took my order. I ordered one taco. She brought out my taco a glass of ice water salsa and a bean dip. I didn’t hear from her for the next 15 minutes. but she of course walked over to the gentlemen that were 2 booths from me. Then when I got my bill she charged me for reg price tacos. WORSE CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER. I wldnt go back there if they were giving away tacos

I was excited to try this place from the photo of the burrito. Asked for a burrito but not a combo, but they gave me the rice and beans on the side even though i didn’t want it, it was pricey for around 10 dollars, didn’t want potatoes in my burrito but there was in it. also asked for it wet and it was dry, and asked for green sauce and they gave me half a cup of REDDDDD. asked for extra guac but barely any guac. Sucks I’m not going back.

Excellent Pork and Beans! Located behind the Hemet Train Station and car wash, the atmosphere is quiet and very pleasant. If you are Hemet and want a local restrauant this is the place for you for Great Mexican food! Service is also without compare.

Their salsa is toooo hot and the chicken they use for the chicken taco salad was terrible. The chips were no bueno too. I’ve eaten there in the past and from what I remember it was ok food.

Just had dinner with the folks, I enjoy the food here the shredded beef burrito is the best.

First off, the food has always been delicious. My family, friends, and I enjoy their food!
The service, however, always leaves something to be GREATLY desired — unless we have a Spanish speaking friend with us. That fact is nothing short of disappointing.
This last time, I came in with one other person. Granted, there was one large dinner party that the waitresses were taking care of, but except for when we first sat down and when our food came, the waitresses didnt so much as look our way.
Finally, we flagged down the manager (?). I explained that I had a food allergy, and I had asked for this food item to be left off my tacos. Somehow, a piece made its way in – not intentionally, I’m sure — and I was left with a severe allergic reaction.
I expressed this to the manager who just looked at me, repeated my request for more tacos with the food item left off, and walked away.
No «sorry that happened!», or even a smile. We had to ask for our check TWICE.
The restaurant, with the exception of the large party, was fairly deserted.
Really? Besides having a bloody mouth from my allergic reaction, I also have a bad taste because of their lack of service.
I love their food, but I wouldn’t recommend this place unless you A) speak Spanish fluently or B) have time to kill.

Great place to eay, awesome customer service. I love this place, been coming here for years. I highly recommend it.

I was in town visiting some friends and got the tip to try this place out. I heard the had the best horchata ever thinking that was to bold of a statement. But it really was the BEST HORCHATA EVER. All the employees were nice and the food was awesome.

I had to write a review for this place, anytime I visit Hemet I stop here for the wonderful service and bacon wrapped shrimp, w a secret spicy sauce and perfect mexican rice and beans.

Amazing!

I work right across the street at the salon and come on my lunch. I love the food here it is the most authentic Mexican food I have had! I always order the carnitas. It’s my favorite I can never find a place that serves them the same! The ambiance is very relaxing and easy to get comfortable. I always suggest it to my clients when they ask where to get authentic Mexican food!

This place is fantastic, the Mexican food is good and I like how they change it up a bit from traditional. The breakfast burrito is by far my favorite!

Monday night special is $ 1 tacos, these are small little hard shell tacos that come in shredded beef, chicken or ground beef. I opted for the chicken and they were pretty tasty, I was impressed. The pozole was OK, a little more broth would have helped. The garlic shrimp was alright, not the best I’ve had. We had deep fried ice cream for dessert, that was delicious. So why only 3 stars?
Could have been 4 stars but the service was a little weird, probably a language barrier issue in this case. Our waitress brought us 2 orders of deep fried ice cream when we only ordered 1, she gave us refills when we said no thank you, didn’t want to waste the soda since we were already finished with the meal. She couldn’t answer some questions about the menu. She was very nice, but we had a communication problem.
I wouldn’t drive out of my way to eat here, only if we’re already in the area and we’re craving for Mexican food.
