Excellent authentic food. Prices are decent. Yes it’s in a less than desirable part of Hemet but it’s worth the trip for the food

In the heart of hemet(which isn’t nice lol) the place is very older looking. The staff is nice. The food was okay. They add rice and lettuce in their carne asada burrito which I don’t like so I got it without those. The rolled tacos were decent. This is an average place, I wouldn’t recommend it to people as the best place to go.

Service and food were great. Will definitely be coming back to explore the menu further. I came here for a California burrito but ended up getting the pulled pork sandwich when the cashier gave me a sample first and I enjoyed every bit of it. Atmosphere is laid back, my family and I enjoyed our meal outside with a nice breeze. The only discrepancy i had was having to go around back for my daughter to use the bathroom. Overall the place was great. I will definitely be coming back here.

There are many toco places and burger joints in town; however this one is VERY different. The new menu includes BBQ! My wife and I tried it, and fell in love with the new menu. One of items is the tri tip tortas, they are amazing, very good and inexpensive. I will be coming back here more often for the Mexican American meals.

5 stars easily for taste alone! I just love the food here. It is really good! I have had ups and downs with this place though. I did have one experience that was bad. I ordered a burrito to go. Got home to discover that it’s not the burrito I ordered. Had the place been packed, I could see how that could have happened. But, the place was empty and I was the only one there. Kinda sucked. I do have the same reoccurring issue with my drink though. The guy in front always has to be reminded to either give me my drink or I have to remind him what drink I ordered. Not too big of a deal, but, if I am in a rush and forget it myself, we could have a problem. All in all, I recommend the food.

Driving through town, we stopped here because I was craving a fish taco. Sometimes some of the best places are dives, right? Not this time. The place was incredibly dirty, the salsa bar looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in weeks and the bathrooms were downright scary.(No hand soap, ew.) the food was all incredibly bland. The fish tacos were nasty and fishy and gross. You’re far better off at a Del Taco.

Nicest owners but you’ve got to be kidding me! This the most disgusting Mexican taco shop I’ve ever been to! I have no clue how the health department hasn’t shut this down. The fish tacos were incredibly fishy and no wonder they were on sale! Wanted to like this place desperately but the food was disgusting. Not even a good beer could wash this gross food down. Ended up sick all night. Won’t even go into the location of this place, multiple shootings and deaths. Couldn’t believe anyone could run a place like this. Best part was watching a huge dust ball float into my so called fish taco… No joke at least two inches long. I’d rather shove fish sticks in a slice of wonder bread… At least that would taste better and wouldn’t make me sick. P. S. The pizzadilla was a total scam.(Whoever did this lets be friends!) They do not make it and are really doing themselves a major disservice by not doing so. They said people ask about it all the time… Hello pay attention that could’ve saved your business!

This restaurant has always been good since I first discovered it about two years ago. They had pupusas, which are rare around the area. I went often and the staff was always friendly. The food was great. It felt like I was having lunch/dinner at a friend’s house. That changed about two months ago or so. I’m vegetarian and the cook would always make sure my food was never contaminated and they were even nice enough to discount my meals since they didn’t use any meat. I went early January and ordered bean and cheese pupusas, and two sopes. For some reason they added pork to one of my pupusas and I immediately got food poisoning. I haven’t eaten meat in 5 years, so it immediately made me vomit and caused bad stomach discomfort for the next two days. It may be that they have new staff and they aren’t as friendly as the original ones. The prices have gone up as well which might be part of a change of ownership. I really enjoyed this place before. I’d go at least once a week, but I don’t care about the new changes.

I wish I could give more than 5 Stars. This place is really that good! We picked this place completely off of other Unilocal reviews. They accommodated our party of 15 by moving several tables together. Staff was great. Owner was there, and he was very nice and appreciative of our business. Food was just outstanding! Between all of us, we had many things on the menu. It was all good! We will drive out there again for this great of a restaurant!

Bad! I ordered super nachos and the«chef» microwaved them to melt the cheese… IN the styrofoam container! A major No-No for me. I rarely use my microwave at home and I NEVER microwave plastic or, especially styrofoam as it is toxic and tends to melt under the radiation waves. Gross! I also ordered a taco and it was bad too. I was really hoping to like this place as it’s close to my house but it seemed grungy and just plain nasty! I won’t be returning. Service was ok, but slow.

Better than average breakfast burrito served up here folks. The place is a true dive but that’s all part of the charm. If I find myself back in Hemet, I would return.

Ummmm no, just no. If you can’t even make enchiladas right… there’s a problem. The sauce tasted bland, the cheese was not melted, and it overall just did not taste good. The rice and beans were ok. Nexxxxxxtttt!!!

This is a hole-in-the wall recommended by a coworker who lives locally. Since it happens to be on the way back to my office from a few of my most challenging clients, it easily became a source of comfort food for me. I have tried the beef rolled tacos, chile relleno burrito, pupusas, carne asada burrito, and my favorite-chile verde burritos. Huge tender chunks of pork slow cooked in this yummy green sauce with melted cheese and beans-comfort all the way! The burritos used to be huge where it would take me 2 – 3 meals to finish it, but more recently, they have gotten a bit smaller and it only lasts me one meal if I am super hungry. The prices are decent and they have a decent salsa bar. Chips are free if you eat there-a concept I really don’t understand, but I guess it mirrors Asian restaurants that will serve a cup of soup with the lunch special if you dine in. The cashiers are friendly and they do not charge for debit or credit. Prices are average, burritos are $ 4.50 and up, which is a bit cheaper than some franchises that are charging $ 5.50-$ 7.95. They also serve items such as hamburgers and fries, although I never go to a Mexican food place to order these items-just does not fit the mood for me. This place is right next to a park where many homeless people frequent, so the restaurant does ask you to lock the door behind you when you ask to use the restroom as the restroom access is from a door on a differenr side of the building.

I ordered the rodeo burrito, a horchata, and some chips and salsa. The chips were fresh and the salsa was amazing too. The Horchata is made fresh on location according to the owner’s son and it was delicious. The burrito was amazing too… This is a Mexican restaurant that I would love to see turn into a chain. As long as they keep their food quality up. I would consider investing money into this place and helping them turn it into a franchise.

I ordered a shredded beef Torta. While it was absolutely huge and filling, it was a little bland and soggy. I have a feeling Torta’s are not this places specialty. Other orders looked a LOT better. I also had to wait 20 minutes which is a little slow. Inside is typical of Mexican restaurants. Nothing to write home about, but cozy and homey. Cashier was pretty friendly. While waiting for my food, he came out and greeted other customers. A woman sat down at a table and he came out right away to clean it up(wasn’t dirty). Pretty good service for a Mexican place. If not for the taste ill try this place again for their friendliness and portions.

I honestly don’t know how they screwed up a bean and cheese burrito, but they did. Same with the bean, cheese, rice, chicken burrito. I don’t know what everyone’s raving about with this place, but I just don’t see it. I made a special, out-of-the-way trip to this place because we were looking for good Mexican, taco shop food in Hemet. I almost always get the same thing first time that I go to a taco shop, because really, who can screw up a bean and cheese burrito or a bean, cheese, rice, chicken burrito? That’s really hard to do. But, somehow they did it. And, it took them forever to make the food. WAY longer than most other good taco shops. And at a higher price. I’d think twice before going here. I can tell you I won’t be back.

This place rules. Got a carne asada burrito, was the bomb. Good beans, great meat. Comes with guacamole and cheese. I got it with no tomato and added onions and cilantro. Chips and all of their salsas are great too except the pico, that’s just ordinary but the red salsas: damn they good!

Pupusa en Hemet? Pupusas are not easy to find –at least where i live. Finding El Rodeo with their pupusas was a great surprise since i will be spending a lot of time in Hemet. This is my new spot. they serve beer and the pupusas were not greasy in any way. chicharron was OUTTATHISWORLD. bean and cheese was really good as well. i highly recommend El Rodeo Taco shop for the pupusas and i will be back to try tacos. service was great and the cook even came out front so i could tell him how great the pupusas were. He was a Mexican guy — not central american so kudos to him for learning to make food from another country haha
