This review is specifically for Lynn, who is such a sweetheart. I’ve been coming here for my nails since I moved to the Hayward Hills, and it’s a 2 minute drive from my house, which is very convenient, so I didn’t expect much from this place. But Lynn is great at what she does. I get the gel nails«Gelish» or what others refer to as «Shellac». She does a wonderful job gently removing my previous gel, and precisely applies the new nails as if she’s a Virgo. My nails can last up to a whole month(if I decide to let it go that long). Their color selection isn’t the biggest, but it works for me. The only reason I’m not giving a 5 star is for the price, which is a bit higher than what I used to pay on the Peninsula. But other than that, I highly recommend Lynn, she will give you candies to eat while you’re there too ;)

I wrote a review about a year ago giving this place four stars but in the last year my friends and I have noticed the quality and the service going down hill. I feel rushed every time I go in lately and the quality of the service is below par. I’m currently looking for another nail salon.

Back in my high school days, I came here regularly for eyebrow waxing and an occasional trim. The women who work here have always been friendly, and I’ve never had to wait more than 10 minutes for anything. I still occasionally come here, but my trips have become few and far in between. HOWEVER, a couple months ago I had an unrelenting urge to chop off my hair. I called my regular hair place, but my stylist was booked for a week. It was the day before Thanksgiving and every other place I tried was also booked. Any trepidation I would normally have flew out the window. I drove on over, without an appointment, and was directed to the first available stylist, Kelly. Ah, hair gods, thank you for working in my favor. Kelly worked meticulously, cutting, drying, and flat ironing my hair with precision. Lesson learned: A good haircut does not have to cost $ 60, nor take place in an upscale salon.

I was referred to «Mary» to get my hair cut and highlighted. She did an amazing job with both and I would definitely see her again, just make sure you get clarity on the price since I was quoted one thing over the phone and paid another. I’m sure when they ask you to straighten, deep condition etc it’s all added on, but don’t tell you that at the time. Regardless, the prices are still great and she was able to lift a very dark brown out of my hair and make my hair blond as can be :) I would definitely come back here…

Holiday Hair & Nails is now called«Sarah’s Hair and Nails» Earlier, I wrote a three star review for their salon services. Lately, I’ve found a wonderful 5-star secret for this salon. Everyone finds out about it, and I will have to wait for an appointment. Nobody who only thinks horizontally has to know this secret. Before I discovered this secret, which I won’t tell you, I was driving an hour to Los Gatos and paying over $ 100 for great cut and color. Then, one time I had to reschedule my appointment at this upscale salon, and was told my stylist was booked for four more weeks out. This wasn’t the first time I had difficulty rescheduling. So I gave Holiday(Sarah’s) another shot at my head, using the stylist my husband uses. For much less than what I paid at the upscale salon for a cut and color, I got a terrific cut, color and pedicure, AND my two daughters got their nails done at the same time. My stylist cuts with a straight razor, and the cut really works for me. It grows out nicely, and I sometimes go a long time between cuts because it still looks great. Getting in and getting my preferred stylist is never a hassle. And it will stay that way, as long as nobody spills the beans.

This place was terrible. I went in to get a full set done. I have had my nails done for over 15 years. This place was one of the worst I have ever gone too. +1 Star because the staff was nice. –1; my nails were crooked –1; my french tips were terribly painted –2; it took the nail tech over 2 hours to do a full set(TWOHOURS?!)

This was actually a place I went to with my soon to be sister-in-law and she’s pretty particular about mani/pedis and my brother gets his haircuts here and so does my hubby now(he is very picky picky). Mani/Pedis: I think they only have ONE massage chair(not sure) but the other chairs are all very comfy. They do a pretty good job with the pedis and if you forget to bring your flip-flops they provide you with these cute foamy thin flops. Price is about the same as other places(avg: ~ $ 20+) Haircuts: I see alot of guys coming in here for haircuts. They’re cheap and they get the job done(depends on who you get sometimes — some are better than others, of course). Sometimes it is best to make appointments bcuz this place does get busy. All in all, it’s not the fanciest of shops but it’s your typical Vietnamese Salon. The staff are really nice, personalble, and sweet. Like I previously mentioned, this place gets packed on the weekends and sometimes it is best to make appointments.
