So it took me 25 minutes to get a bacon eggs and cheese bagel. There’s 5 people working, one of them spent 20 of the minutes talking to a friend as the line got longer and longer. I watched my bagel sit on the counter and the eggs be finished in the microwave and the girl continued to talk to her friend. I watched them mess up a couple orders before mine too. The prices were good but I’d pay twice as much to eat at the food trucks across the way for better and quicker service. The line can be filled with 3 people and you’ll still wait forever. Just don’t waste your time.

Bagels are decent but they put very little cream cheese. The first time I ordered a bagel sandwich, I thought it was delicious… Until I noticed a strand of hair mixed right in with my sandwich.

I ordered a honey whole wheat bagel with maple shmear. What did I get? An everything bagel with what tastes like butter. Seriously?

When I first tried the avocado turkey bagel I was amazed by the taste. However, I was to tired that day and didn’t realize how expensive the bagel was. Now, the only thing that keeps me from going is that they are way overpriced. Also, the wait time was about 10 min for a simple bagel.

Do they even have a manager or supervisor? Where is the employee accountability? The employees have to constantly turn to look at the menu to see what you ordered and are incompetent at making drinks. An iced latte should not be so difficult that only one of you can make them. This is especially sad coming from a school that prides itself on business degrees.

I agree with everyone that the service sucks but I’m pretty sure it comes down to their manager/supervisor. The employees work very slow and the amount of cream cheese they put on their over priced bagels is such a joke. If I’m gonna pay almost $ 3 for a bagel at least pack on the cheese its the least they can do.

Located by the Administration building — this gives the students an option away from Starbucks in campus. They have bagels, soup and salads. I think its a bit pricey. The service was fast, coffee was strong. Over all, it was ok. I ordered the veggie bagel — a bit disappointed, I felt for the price I was cheated :(I don’t think it has enough veggie or smear. Am I coming back again — maybe if its the only option I have.

It’s such a struggle finding something that does not come out of a vending machine when your starving hungry and your on the other side of campus where the science buildings are. Coming into this establishment makes you want to apologize for being a customer. By that I mean, it seems as if the workers really don’t want to be there and they completely resent you for coming in. Every time I come in here I feel like a character from walking dead who just stumbled into a itty bitty café that is run with employees who have turned. A young student/employee that looks like a zombie(who can’t seem to motivate any facials muscles to even attempt a smile or show a hint of enthusiasm) dreadfully tries taking your order. Mistakes are often made here on orders and the young workers don’t resemble a hint of professionalism. But are they really to blame? Where is the manager? Assistant manager? Supervisor? The one demonstrating real customer service and restaurant skills? That’s right everybody, they are nowhere to be found! EVER. Great job East Bay, thumbs up for creating a zombie infested café.(No offense to zombies, considering I think they could probably run a bagel café better).

The employees have no idea what they’re doing, and it takes forever to get the simplest thing. Two stars because it’s close to my office.

Slow service and the food is hardly good. But for most its one of the few options they have since they cant go off campus. Go to Starbucks for coffee and just about anywhere else for food…

Clueless idiots that take half an hour to make a bagel. We’re students. What happens if I don’t have a half an hour for you to spread some cheese on bread? Don’t come here. Go go Starbucks.

I worked here once upon a time. Service is still terrible because the management is still terrible if not worse. I can completely understand why they have issues getting people covering shifts who wants to work with the conditions in this place? Since the beginning just completely unorganized. Food looks really bad these days, extra sloppy you can tell there is no training. Cross contamination is everywhere thank god I’m not allergic to sesame seeds or peanut butter. Coffee and espresso? Laughs! Watched a girl grab the steaming cup, pour milk and caramel directly into it, steam it and hand it off as a caramel macchiato. Who does that? Disaster. I hope they get a real health evaluation that isn’t Aramark so they can get shut down. Tons of unsanitary goings ons. We need better! I want to see my tuition giving me better options! Really 0 stars because my coffee tastes like water.

I absolutely dread coming here as the WAIT can get very long whether there is a line at the door or not. But on the other hand, it’s such a convenient being that it’s located right on campus. So I decided to give it a try as I did not feel like taking a drive. Tip #1: Avoid coming between the times classes are ending and starting, or you will be late. The worker(name started with an E) didn’t know what any of the items were. I asked what the turkey sausage bagel consisted of and she had to go look it up in the back only to tell me she still doesn’t know. And so I requested for a cup of chili and she tells me it’s actually a sandwich. As she rings me up it seems like she wanted to charge me $ 11.98 for the«chili sandwich» when the advertised price was only $ 3 something. THEN… They call my order and I get a cup of chili… Tip #2: Google the item you want if you’re curious what’s in it. Tip #3: Check your receipt. You should be charged for what YOU ordered.

I used to go here when I was still in college(CSUEB Alumni). I always went for their chocolate chip bagel with plain spread and their lemon raspberry lemonade(which was to die for!). I remember during summer quarter, it would be scorching hot(something in comparison to a bikram yoga room) and I would more than likely break a sweat by the time I’ve reached my turn in line. All I had in my mind was bagel and lemonade though so I guess it was more of a «mind over matter» type of mentality I had every time I had cravings for the food here. I do miss their bagels here and I tend to make a pleasant visit every time I’m around the Hayward area. Oh, the things I’d do for food.

Food: not that great… I mean come on it’s not hard to make bagels. Customer Service: Poor This is the only place(besides starbucks) to get a bagel and coffee and due to the location of my classes I pick this place. I go every week to get a cinnamon sugar bagel which used to taste fresh but lately has tasted stale and like sugary cardboard. The staff has gotten my order wrong a handful of times, even though I order something very simple(a bagel with cream cheese). They also take FOREVER to get the order out. Whether there is a long line or not, expect to wait while they dilly dally.(The students work here… keep that in mind) Unfortunately there isn’t much competition so I go back here when I have class. The prices are also pretty steep for a university bagel shop… If you have a choice, go elsewhere.

The only reason to go to Einstein’s is convenience. If not for the convenience, I’d have already burnt it to the ground for all the frustration it has caused me. Not only do they consistently get my simple orders wrong, but it seems to be the same cashier who does it every single time — the one who looks like he’s always high at work, a dull expression constantly plastered across his face. I’ve often walked in and wondered why they decided to let the most incompetent specimen run one of the most important jobs. It’s honey butter NOT peanut butter. I wanted a banana nut muffin not a blueberry one. Why is there a piece of smoked salmon in my sweet bagel? Why is my bagel not toasted even though I asked? I understand service jobs are not easy, but they are not THAT hard, especially not toasting a bagel.

The tasty turkey bagel sandwhich is goood. The coffee isnt bad. Those two things are why i give it stars. I understand it can get bust but even when its not the customer service isnt good. Ive been here a few times and it seems every time ive come somone messes up on my order. One time they somehow skipped making my drink and didnt realize it until I asked how much longer id wait sense people who came after me were getting served first.

Costco, you’ve been demoted! Gutted when I realized that at least a few months back, they switched their vendor to what must be better priced wholesale bagels. No more Noah’s, enter inferior Einstein. I have eaten at their bagel store before, but cannot remember where. Doesn’t hold up in the least to the water/flour ratio or boil technique of Noah’s. what results is a less dense, less weighty shoddy second. Booo
