Chabot College Performing Arts Center

I recently went here for the Boohwal Concert with my mother and grandmother. The concert itself was very good, even though I didn’t understand most of it since it was in Korean. However the company that was selling the tickets was very disorganized. This however was not the Chabot Theater’s fault. In regards to the theater, it is a very nice area with comfortable seating and a large stage. I was very disappointed in the staff of the actual theater. While waiting in line to get in, I noticed one of the security guards was on his phone very frequently, it didn’t make me feel safe, and I don’t think texting is part of his job. After the concert we were waiting in line to meet the band, only certain people were allowed to wait in this line and we were told we were allowed because we had purchased special tickets which came with a t-​shirt. After waiting quite a while we were next in line however this woman told us we were not allowed to go inside because suddenly the rules were changed and she pushed us out of line! I was very surprised she did this especially since my 84 year old grandmother was with us! I think this was very unprofessional and could have been handled in a much better manner! After this happened we just waited patiently at the side of the front of the line and my mother saw the band gesturing for us to go in, so we did. It seemed like the woman who pushed us out of line was NOT informed of what the proper rules were, and should not have acted the way she did. She did not even apologize. If that’s how they treat people regularly, I would not attend a concert here again.

Great space and huge stage!

I can’t believe they cancelled half of the show just because they one if the toilets was clogged sucks!

This city college theater is very small but the plus side to that is a very intimate setting, that made our viewing magical.

Had some nosebleed seats tonight for a performance and it didn’t matter — could see and hear everything perfectly well. Nice space.
