Found this place while in town on business. Walked in about 12, found a table right away, was greeted right away, got our drinks and the server(who told us she was from Long Island) was very helpful. I had fish tacos, which was a special today, my co-worker had a crab cake and the Tom Brady!!! Our bill was $ 22, very reasonable. Food was awesome, great service, hope to come back someday.

Had the cheeseburger with smoked applewood bacon and cheddar, with a lager beer. This was probably the best restaurant burger I’ve ever had. The only negative on the joint itself: it’s a bar(a very small one), and the only seating is a dozen or so stools and the bar, and a single 4-person round table(in warmer weather, there is patio seating, but that didn’t help us on December 28th :)) Oh yeah, deep-friend Oreo for dessert — outstanding!

This is a cute little burger place that has a very wide range of beers to choose from. My husband and I went there and I got their Greg Brady burger that has martins potato chips on it and my husband got their jalapeño popper burger. We were not disappointed whatsoever. Don’t pass this place up.

This is is a small dive joint with a bar and few(maybe 1) table for seating. My husband and I were lucky to get a seat at the bar during lunch time since we noticed how busy is was getting. The selection of beer is awesome! The burgers are made to order and not your traditional burgers but delicious! All cooked to about medium well. I got the Popeye burger with regular fries and my husband got the one with bacon and fried eggs and sweet potatoe fries. The fries were also the bomb! The sauce that the burger comes with complements the fries very well. Now, after we scarfed our meal down, the bartender asked if we wanted fried Oreos. I’m not usually a dessert after a meal person, but how could I resists a fries Oreo? Besides, it was only a buck so I knew it wouldn’t break the bank. We both ordered one and omg!!! It was the best freakin’ puff of fried dough I’ve had in a long time. It was dusted with powdered sugar and I didn’t care that I got it all over myself! The only regret that I have is that I didn’t order 100 more of these! Anyways, all in all, we had a great experience at Jack Browns and I would’ve given this review a 5 star if the place had more seating for patrons.

I stopped in to Jack Brown’s on a recent visit to town, and it was a fun experience that also happened to provide me with a nice craft beer list and a great burger. The employees were incredibly friendly, and all had passionate and excellent recommendations from the menu. I chose the burger with the creamed cheese and jalapeño pepper jelly. I was a bit skeptical, but I chose it upon the recommendation of the bartender. She was right — it was awesome. The restaurant doesn’t cook the burgers on a charcoal grill, as I much prefer, but it still was a memorable burger if you like your burgers with innovative fixings. I had to taste the fried oreo, which is basically an Oreo in funnel cake. One was enough, but it was heavenly. Only one caveat: This restaurant is more bar than restaurant, and the crowd is a bit rowdy and social. This is NOT the place to go and read a book, and I even felt like I was being a bit snobby by reading my phone. Everyone seemed to want to talk, and some folk were a little loud. But that’s minor: overall, a delicious place and good people.

Reasonable prices, great food and fun atmosphere! Stopped in while traveling to Virginia Beach, had a seat at the bar and we were immediately served. Several creative burger choices on the menu– our party of three had the Greg Brady, the Cowboy and the Jalapeño Popper — and all were flavorful, juicy and delicious. As the non-driver in the group, I was also able to sample a few of the huge list of microbrews they offered. Tried the fried Oreo for dessert and it was hot and decadent yumminess. We will definitely stop again when traveling through Harrisonburg!

Awesome beer and burger joint! I had the chiflet which was done just right! Great value for a fresh burger and we finished it off with a sweet fried Oreo treat for dessert!

Nice beer selection and the bar staff speaks beer. What this kind of joint should be… simple and good.

While perusing around VA, we stopped at this place after looking on Unilocal for recommendations. Burgers were great, desert was equally as good. We sat outside, inside looked a little cramped. Located in downtown area with lots of parking. Service was good, waitress was very accommodating and checked on us frequently. If I was ever back in the area again, I would probably stop again.

Thank you Unilocalers for steering us here on the way home from Asheville! Greg Brady burger was cheesy but still needed other seasoning. Flavor from BBQ chips not enough. Definitely worth trying. Sweet potato fries excellent. Second meal was today’s special, the Caprese burger. Patty topped with, balsamic, tomato, and basil. Needed nothing else! Regular fries as well done as sweet potato. Really crisp. Yum! Had this not been middle of long road trip would have enjoyed diving into the beer list a bit more.

Burger on a Donut(bun)! This was my First Burger on a Donut and I like it a lot! Would I give it a Full 5 stars? NO! Not compared to the Best Burgers I have eaten, though it was one of the more unique Burgers I have eaten since being up here! I switched the Cheddar for Pepperjack, 86ed the Egg and Added Onion Brassieres(the kind worn for upper torso support or bragging instead of the Kind of Parisian Eatery) hanging from the Ceiling! What do you expect in a Hole-in-the-wall College town BAR and Food! The Fries were OK! Oreo Battered and DeepFried, and rolled in Powdered Sugar I was not even going to taste this, not because it is against my Religion or anything, I just knew I would not be impressed! I was Impressed! Not enough to get another one, though my Family members thought they would like it more and liked it much less! Busy on a Sunday Morning

I admit it. I went back again for the fried oreo and brought a friend It’s yummy deliciousness wrapped in what tastes like funnel cake and sprinkled with what looks like powered sugar(but is almost certainly crack that gets you addicted and makes you return once every few weeks for a fix). Looking forward to my next trip…

Unilocal directed me here, and so far I like it. A pretty small place… But has an impressive beer list(bottles, cans, 5 beers on draft). Sat down at the bar. Some outside seating, one table. So if you’re here with a group, no Bueno. I ordered a VA beer which was pretty tasty! Bartender/waitress recommended the«Greg brady» burger, which is a burger topped with homemade mac n cheese and bbq chips. Sounds EXACTLY up my ally. And it’s 7 bucks? Yup. Got my burger in less then 10 minutes. It was tasty! They gave me their«secret sauce»(mayo based, little kick) with the fries. Complimented well. Burger wasn’t huge, just right. Nice and cheesy! For a «cheap» burger, it was great. Better than I expected. Service was great. Good was great and quick. No complaints here! Also, good playlist. If I find myself in the area, I’ll be back!

This was a fun place to get a meal! I got the burger with mac and cheese on it. What a cool concept! Also got a fried oreo. Also a cool concept and I felt good getting it since it was just one oreo for $ 1. Didn’t have to order a dozen of them or spend $ 20 to try this ‘delicacy.’ At first we were really impressed by the price but then we saw that the burgers were on the smaller side. I’d definitely go back here and recommend it to others, I’d just say get two patties(or split a third burger with a friend so you can try a third of their funky combinations). The regular fries are definitely better than the sweet potato fries, so don’t spend extra to get the latter. Nice beer selection. Nice seating outside when it’s good weather.

This would be a five star review if it were based solely on the interaction with the staff. Important to note that this place serves only burgers. Nothing more. Decent burgers. Nothing special. Just burgers. Vast beer menu a plus. Did I mention the super helpful, kind and wonderful servers? Ok, what would make me give this place a one star… The nasty super dusty bras hanging from the ceiling fixtures! Yes, really. In our contemporary society, this place finds it amusing or necessary to have mass grouping of women’s bras displayed(and never dusted or cleaned) above the kitchen and eating area. What the eff? If that guy from bar rescue walked in here, he would SHUTTHEMDOWN!!! Jack Brown’s, please update your image and clean up your act! But also please tell your staff that they are wonderful!

Had the most excellent Jalapeño and Habanero«Shocker» burger. Fries were awesome too. And the wheat beer on tap… well :D you can’t wipe the smile off my face! Did I mention the fried Oreo? Yeah

TERRIFIC burgers! It’s a limited menu — just burgers and fries, and for dessert, fried Oreos — but what they do have, they do well. Creative burgers too — I had the special of the day, the JJ Caprese with mozzarella, basil, tomatoes and balsamic vinegar. The hubby had the Greg Brady with mac and cheese, and bbq chips. Both were awesome but his was just that much better. Everything fried was perfection, from the sweet potato fries to the fried Oreos. The only caution I would give to families is that there is no indoor seating other than one table and bar seating, but on a nice day the patio is a great option. Also, as befits a college town, the décor is quirky/risqué as it includes a bunch of bras hanging from above the bar and table. Didn’t bother my family but we’re not that sensitive to that sort of thing. Oh and be sure to check for any Unilocal offers first, we missed the free fried Oreo offer, darn it.

Love, love love. First off, the viking hat wearing, bicycle riding, bra covered skeleton hanging from the ceiling is one of the oddest surprises ever upon walking into a bar, but I dig it! Three of us came in here after rock climbing in order to fuel up before driving home in the blizzard a few weeks ago. Can you say, «hit the spot»? I can. This place hit the spot. Ciders and beer, fantastic burgers and a free fried oreo to boot. I’m not a huge burger lover but this was one of the best and most unconventional I’ve had. Burger patty, mac & cheese, BBQ potato chips. Yeah, it was awesome. The food came out quick and the server was friendly. The space is really small, I bet it gets packed at night. They have a long bar, a bunch of high top tables along the wall, and one round barrel table which we snagged upon walking in. I don’t really know what reason I will have in the future to come back to Harrisonburg, but I might have to make one to come back here.

This is a small establishment with an outdoor space. They seem like they get a lot of regulars and the bar has a lot of character. We came in to grab a burger, waited ten minutes and decided on take out. Since they only have bar seating and one table inside, it’s a little dicey to sit down for food if they’re busy. The bacon cheeseburger and fries was tasty, but nothing amazing enough to warrant a mention in the name. Fries are krinkle cut, reminiscent of Nathan’s, and were perfectly crispy. For $ 11, I feel that I would have gotten better value at an upscale burger fast food place like Five Guys or Shake Shack. The atmosphere is casual. There are tons of bras hanging from the ceiling, dollar bills taped to the ceilings and various plaques on the walls. Service was friendly and quick, especially for take out. I probably would check out another burger joint before returning, but would come back to grab a beer!
