Bad news fellow Unilocalers, this pizza joint is closed. My Wife and myself are shocked, the pizza was so good, so sad.

Unreal pizza! Crust is just fabulous! No alcohol but you can bring your own and enjoy one of the better thin crust pizza’s I have had in a long time. May be the best value in the Princeville resort area.

Yummy! James and I had our wedding rehearsal dinner here and we ordered six of their pizzas and all six were good. My personal favorite was their margarita pizza, but we ordered their Hawaiian, Meat Lovers, Pepperoni, Veggie, and Pesto. The Margarita and Hawaiian were the first to go, but the rest soon followed. We ate dinner here three more times while on Kauai and I would recommend it to any other pizza joint on the north shore. We tried out several other places for lunch and they weren’t nearly as good.

THEIRCRUSTRECIPE = ASGOODASITGETS!!! I neeeeeed this recipe! The dough is made with coconut water, flax, chia and a few other ingredients that I am forgetting to mention… Healthy and delish, two words that don’t always go together! The dudes working here are cool, and the pizza the cook up is top notch. Also, they encourage patrons to BYOB(bring your own booze) to enjoy with your pie. Like a previous Unilocaler mentioned… service isn’t speedy! Chill out people you’re in Hawaii, stop rushing your life away and relax. The pizza is worth the wait.

Yummy pizza, since moving to Kauai about 3 months ago I haven’t had pizza. I found this spot and I’m stoked I did!! All I have to say is the crust is amazing!!! They make it with coconut water and hemp seed oil… We arrived right when they pulled out the pizza from the oven… My bestfriend and I each had a slice of pizza and Hawaiian Sun guava juice and it cost about $ 10.00.As far as Kauai goes it’s a great deal… I will be back to consume more for sure!

We had the Hawaiian Pizza, and it was edible — but not very good at all. The crust had potential, and despite looking raw was actually crisp — but somewhat bland. The sauce looked homemade, and was the best part of the pie — but was still lacking in something. The cheese and toppings were just bland. If you can’t get a good Hawaiian pizza at a place that purports to use the freshest ingredients — then I’m stuck! One positive — the staff was really nice, and the shops nearby were a good distraction while waiting for our pie. If I were to go back, I’d probably order by the slice — those looked much better for some reason.

I don’t know how this place stays open. Their fresh pizzas are good, but not great. They are way overpriced. Avoid their slices unless you are sure they just came out of the oven. Unfortunately they keep their slices on a hot light, so all three times I’ve had lunch there, the pizza was dry cardboard, yet they still had the cojones to charge me full price. Service is horrendous. It’s basically employed by a couple of burnt-out surfer dudes who could care less about customer service.

Hands down, our favorite place to eat on the north shore. We ate here 4 times in 16 days. The crust is crispy, lots of topping options with fresh ingredients. Our favorite was the Wild Pig pizza. My husband would place the order while I went over to Big Save to get our drinks. They don’t sell alcohol, but it’s BYOB and no corking fee. Then we’d sit outside enjoying pizza and a bottle of wine. They sell by the slice, $ 5 which is a great deal for lunch. It’s a big slice. As for the help, our experience was always pleasant. The staff was friendly and often struck up a conversation. I highly recommend Hanalei Pizza when you’re in the area.

I am seriously baffled by the other reviews of this place. We stopped last week and had a very poor experience. We got the hawaiian pizza and it was very meh. We were starving, too, so anything should have tasted good; we were very disappointed. It was very dry in general, and the sauce was substandard, in my opinion. What brought it down from a 3-star to a 1-star in my book, however, was the mostly rude staff. Three guys were behind the counter – a heavy-set guy who took our order, an older guy with a beard and a young guy. Order-taker guy was extremely grumpy and kept saying to his coworkers that«he was going home» because of this or that. We must have stood there in front of him for 4 – 5 minutes before he decided to take our order. Odd. Then the bearded guy comes over and says to me, «Did you go to Maui?» and pointed to my Honolua Surf Co. shirt that I’d purchased the day before(it says«Honolua» and«Hawaii» generically). «No,» I said politely. «Well, that’s a Maui shirt,» he scoffed and walked away. Well, congratulations, you really showed me. I will say that the young guy came out and asked us in a very friendly way how our pizza was right as we were about to leave. But that guy seriously needs to invest in some new coworkers, asap.

Good pepperoni pizza. The specialty slice I ordered was just reheated cheese pizza with toppings added. But, we waited almost an hour. The only time our whole family has complained about prep time(not just the kids).

Best pizza I’ve ever had and I really love pizza. The crust was phenomenal, the cheese and toppings were so good, and it’s located in beautiful Hanalei. If I ever make it back to Kauai, I might stay on the north shore to be closer to Pizza Hanalei. Plus, given island prices, the meal is a «steal.»

Pretty good pizza! They make it fresh to order(don’t go for one of those slices that has just been sitting there; they can whip you up a medium pizza in only 20 minutes – it’s worth the wait), and to make things a bit more hawaiian, I got pepperoni with pineapple for my half(canadian bacon freaks me out), and we got mushroom for the other half. Both were tasty; I might try pepperoni mushroom there next time because the mushrooms were so good. There are some quaint outdoor tables, and while you wait you can go stock up on tasty nuts from the nut company in the plaza…

We were staying quite a ways from town so I was relieved to see this pizza place had such great Unilocal reviews after our drive down from our B&B. Fresh ingredients and a healthy crust. Love that the crust is made with coconut water + millions of other healthy ingredients. Major plus. And they served it on a nice decorative tile. We shared a medium with mushrooms and pineapple and sipped on cans of diet coke. Very friendly people and it didn’t take that long to get our pizza, even though it says on the menu that it might take a while!

Man! I am italian and I have tried pizza all around the world. This place rocks and its pizza is delicious. My wife and I spent ten days in Princeville, and we ate their pizza three times. Original the fact that the pizza dough is made with water coconut. People are really nice and friendly, and prices are really reasonable. I wish I could find them here.

Seriously. Get the pork pizza. It is delicious! The smell when you walk into the restaurant is wonderful… garlicky and fresh smelling. I love that they use coconut water to make the crust! The crust is crunchy and flavorful. We ordered a medium pizza for lunch, had half at lunch and the other half for dinner. It was not the cheapest pizza on the planet, but it is in Kauai… what do you expect? I would go back.

WooHoo! What a great pizza place! I didn’t realize that I would have the pleasure of two run-ins with Pizza Hanalei on my vacation! The first was when I was stuck way on the other end of the island, craving pizza and chose them because of their stellar reviews on Unilocal. After calling and finding out that due to my location I would never make it there before they closed, the woman on the phone was very helpful, giving me directions and even suggesting other places closer to where I was at the time. The following day, I ended up finding Pizza Hanalei, and since I walked in right as they were taking the first pie out of the oven, got first dibs! The slices were large and dangerously cheezie and the crust was thin and crispy, but soft and delightfully chewy under the tomato sauce and mounds of mozzarella cheese lava. I ordered three slices, but because the guy at the counter thought one of the slices was too small so he threw in a fourth slice for free! Awesome! I wish I had time to try some of the toppings, as I am sure the pineapple topping would’ve been superb. I also wish I ate meat in this instance, since just about everyone has been singing praises about the«pig» pizza! Five stars for the quality(and quantity) of the pizza, and five stars for service!

The Wild Pig was special, local, and delish. Yes, it’s pricey but coming from SF it’s not that much different than Pizza Orgasmica prices. Loved the crust(made with crazy stuff like hemp seed — although it tastes like a «regular» crust), sauce(tangy and sweet). Thought it might be too cheesy but tasted delightful. FYI: Pizza Hanalei and Hanalei Pizza are the SAMEPLACE. It is located in Ching Young VIllage(google maps has is marked incorrectly under the Hanalei Pizza Unilocal — although the address listed IS correct. Google maps doesn’t get an address like 5 – 5190.) Unsure of the correct phone number as I called in the am prior to opening hours for research purposes, and there was no answering machine or answer to either number. Just stopped ringing…

I popped in here once by myself and once with my husband on our recent vacation. Both times I was just looking for a quick bite in between other events. We were both happily surprised by the quality of the pizza! My husband even had to go back in for a second slice! I definitely recommend stopping here if you are in the area on vacation — it’s even worth the drive if you aren’t staying nearby!

I come to the North Shore of Kauai often — it’s my Paradise. My recent experience with Hanalei Pizza captures exactly why I can’t get enough of this place… On my last visit(in May), I grabbed a slice of pizza at HP for lunch on the go. My review was lukewarm — admitting I was a bonafide pizza snob, I gave it 3 stars. Unfortunately, because it was a quick visit, there wasn’t much«experience» to the experience to take into consideration. A few weeks later, a message appears in my inbox… it was from Karlos, the owner, and he wanted a chance to make it better. It was clear he takes every single review to heart. Of course, I told him! I would happily return(in August) and would give him the opportunity to knock my socks off. I don’t think he actually believed I would be brave enough to show up… but, I did. Just four days ago. I write hundreds of reviews(I do a lot of wandering) and I can count on one hand the number of people who have contacted me with an offer to make it right. I take into consideration the entire experience of a place when I click on the little red stars… the food, the atmosphere, the service, the feeling I have when I’m there. Karlos had already earned him a bump in the service department. When I walked into HP the other day, I found Karlos — and his teenage helper — hard at work creating works of pizza art for a small crowd waiting patiently in his tiny place.(Most of the customers were locals… a very good sign.) He was pleasantly surprised I showed up and bravely refused to buckle under the pressure ;-). While he worked away, he outed me to the locals(who clearly love this guy) and had me — deservedly — squirming in one very hot seat… all in the Aloha spirit, of course. Over the next 45 minutes, my friend and I bonded with Karlos and fell in love with Hanalei Pizza while devouring one very large — and incredibly delicious — half ahi and half Magherita pizza. By the end of our meal, we felt like locals ourselves. Karlos did knock my socks off… it’s never been easier for me to click on the last red star on the right. I’ll be back… again and again!
