AWESOME. Karen was the best server I have experienced in many meals to include the «higher» end places. Our breakfast Food was prepared EXACTLY AS REQUESTED. Coffee smooth, full bodied and hot. Clean and well appointed dining room. Loved meal and the great local vibe. Putting this one on my list of must return on subsequent trips up the coast.

I just tried this diner and I liked it. The service was great except for 1 thing I will mention later. I ordered the texas style french toast and it was very tasty. The prices are reasonable and the coffee is very smooth.
I really like the ambience, the feel, the décor etc. I am a fan and will definitely be returning.
To the manager:
I was a little disappointed by your lack of respect for your amazing waitress break/​lunch time. I should not have had to interrupt her meal time to split a check into 3. I completely understand it was a little busy but this was really disrespectful to make my friends and I interrupt this nice waitress meal to recalculate our bill which you could have easily done.
Your workers are so important and wish we could have given her more respect, together you as her boss and me as the customer. I will definitely ask to split the bill from the beginning in the future. Thank you for you attention, your restaurant is lovely.

My favorite place to get scrambled eggs & home fries for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Pancakes and waffles are incredible, too. Side note: order hot tea for your beverage and they’ll give you your own personal tea pot!

Service and food delivery is fast! Always fresh. Good diner fare. Irish Benedict special was exceptional. Great coffee. Great value as well!!!

Just a first class from the lovely waitresses to the good food. It’s just an overall delightful dining experience.

I’m happy there are small diner like this still around. Customer service was the best. The server was very nice and checked up on frequently and refilled our coffee on a timely manner. The food was delicious. I recommend it to anyone who wants real breakfast and way better than IHOP.

We were on our way from Boston to NYC and needed a quick lunch. We were seated promptly and the waitress was friendly. I had the mac and cheese lunch special which was delicious! My husband didn’t like his meatloaf. But we would both stop by again in our travels!

Basic (but well done) diner food, lots of menu options and good service. The waiters and waitresses are very nice and patient. The atmosphere is pleasant.

Yes fast food delivery, however food that Gordon Ramsey always talks about these diners… I ordered a burger. well sure NOT a fresh burger made with fresh ground meat… frozen crap. something I wouldn’t even serve at my house… my daughter’s turkey wrap with cranberry also disgusting.. my husband’s Philly steak. another frozen meet crap. do away with you nasty menu and nasty processed. frozen food.start from scratch. …

I used to eat here 2 – 3 times a week for breakfast/​lunch. I got to the point where I knew the staff and they knew exactly what I wanted when I walked in. The only reason I can’t give a 5-​Star is because I have been served some under cooked food a few times and on occasion they’ve forgotten sides that I ordered. The food however (when done right) is great and the price is cheap. The staff is also very friendly and make you feel comfortable.

I got a basic egg sandwich on toast. It was a one egg sandwich with Canadian bacon. The sandwich came with two thick slices of bacon. The coffee was good and the service was very quick. Besides the bacon it was not a spectacular breakfast, but then that is not what I was looking for this morning. I was able to get in and out of here and be on my way. Just what I was looking for this morning!

My waitress was great. I went for breakfast. The food was exactly what I expected and wanted from a diner. Embrace the diner style of eating, people! Décor could use an update, but I found the older diner style to be an element of the charm. The coffee was better than I would have expected. Job well done all around!

Breakfast shout out to Karen and Toni. I go for breakfast and they are very quick and very nice. Portions are very well and prices are comparable to what you would expect from a diner. It’s been a Hamden staple and the updates they did inside refreshed it.

My family of 5 stopped by for breakfast this morning and found the atmosphere bland, the service and food incredibly average. I’m on a low carb diet so I asked for my breakfast without toast or potatoes. My food arrived w two pieces of toast and loaded with potatoes. When I asked the waitress she said ‘don’t worry about it, the cooks never read the slips’! Scary for those with allergies!

My favorite diner in Hamden, but this does not beat diners outside of the area. There is usually a wait to be seated, but it isn’t too bad. The servers are very polite but many of them look like they just came out of prison. My waitress had several neck tattoos and a scowl, but she filled up my glass when it was empty so I can’t complain.
Pricing is great for the service. They literally have every type of food known to man, but I stick to the breakfast menu. No complaints about the food.

It’s a diner. Don’t come here looking for out of this world culinary cuisine. Your standard hungover breakfast awaits. They’ve got regulars, college kids and then the rest of us who are too lazy to cook and end up bitching we spent money on something we could have made better at home.
Go here if you want diner food, or go to the other diner a few blocks down. They’re all the same to me.

Typical diner food. Nothing special about it, but it’s comfort food at its best. I had the chicken rueben sandwich. Grilled Chicken on Rye with kraut and thousand island dressing. It was very good with a side of fries.
They just need to fix the lock in the men’s room.

Stayed a night at the Clarion on our way back to Boston after an eight-​day tied trip. Pancakes were wonderful. Affordable, extensive menu. Best part of the visit was the great service from our waitress Karen.
