Big Joe’s Pizza & Pasta

First time here, food was delicious. Pizza was fresh, good flavor and evenly baked. Had the combo dish, fresh pasta. Will definitely be back. Clean. friendly staff. Go visit! !

They are a small restaurant in a strip center tat has a lot of traffic. Three is another store with the same name that gets bad reviews. The staff is really nice and take a lot of time to help you select the perfect item for your dinner. We id not have pizza, although that is what they specialize in and what we should have gotten. Not fancy but good food. The servings were large.

Avoid the pizza. The only reason I’m giving the one star is for the service. The employees were nice and if that’s the only thing you’re looking for in a pizza place you should eat here. I ordered the deep dish just to get a fresh baked pizza and not one that’s been sitting out and is reheated. Unfortunately the deep dish meat lovers pizza was a bad idea because it literally looked like a tostinos frozen pizza that they sell at Walmart for less than a dollar (see pic). There were only three (processed) meats on the «meat lovers» pizza and i couldn’t even taste the any of the ingredients it just tasted like bread and cheese. The inside of this place looks pretty worn out and the fountain drink machine was completely out of order. Most hole in the wall places I’ve been to don’t look that great of the inside but make up for with great food, this wasn’t the case here. I’m sure this bad review won’t get the owner to make pizzas with better ingredients but maybe it’ll stop someone from $ 16 worth of bad pizza.

My boyfriend made the mistake of introducing me to this AWESOME place! I’ve tried several dishes but the lasagna is to die for! They have the best garlic knots! Place is always clean! And the service is so good!

I’ve ate there several times (dine-​in) and have tried something different each time and the food and service was outstanding! The spaghetti and meat sauce is my favorite so far. The service was fast, the employees were friendly, and the food tastes fresh every time!

Always get carry out & have never been given a wait time of more than 10 – 15 min. Food is great! Garlic knots are heaven! Greek salad larger than expected 5/​5, stromboli 3.5÷5. Pizza by the slice! Nice staff, good prices, quality food & large portions. The food is just GOOD.

Amazing food!!! Looks like just a little hole in the wall. Easy to pass right by but totally worth a stop. The food is fresh, from scratch not cans and you can tell.

I wish I could give more than 5 stars. I love this place. Affordable and the food is awesome. I almost want to keep this place as my little secret.

Ironically, I’m actually here eating as I’m writing this review. The food tastes great, but the service is horrible! The guy taking our order is very rude. Forgets to put in two of our orders and just throws our plates on the table. I would come back for the food, but I would definitely for sure would not be dinning in.

The restaurant is welcoming and friendly. Both of us ate with 2 sodas for $ 18. Which is awesome! I got the baked ziti with meat sauce, it was delicious and piping hot when it got to the table, which took less than 10 minutes. It was a big portion but I finished all of it except for a few bites that my husband stole. He got a stuffed pizza, meat lovers. He said it was great tasting with some of the best marinara he had ever had. As we left, I got 2 slices to go-​mushroom for me and pepperoni for him. I ate mine for lunch the next day and it was great!

I had a stuffed pepperoni, sausage, and bacon pizza. My husband had a sandwich and we both loved it! Great flavor!

Not –New York style pizza! Just because you shape it like a New York pizza doesn’t make it a New York style pizza. Food is not homemade and the service is horrible. Stop and walk away. You will thank me for this!

Great lunch and great service. The we had two pizzas. It was hot, good and quick. The only problem was the building was run down.

Great lunchtime place to eat. Very fast and friendly. Two huge slices of pizza and a water for $ 5.41! The pizza is good, NY style.
They always have a TV on ESPN, so some good brain dead tv to watch while eating lunch is right up my alley.
Give these cats a try, you’ll be hooked!

I’ve been to New York and I fell in love with the pizza. Coming back home, I automatically went for titles that said «New York styled pizza» and all of them disappointed me. I was very upset, but it drove me more crazy and I couldn’t get the pizza I so longed for out of my head.
How crazy? I’ve taken day trips back to New York just for the pizza. Yes.
This place saved me (my time and money) They didn’t even title it «New York» it was just cheese pizza and do you want toppings? I was mind blown and my mouth had an orgasm at the taste of this places pizza. Best I’ve had in Texas. Second on my list next to the actual New York City. Don’t believe or waste your time at those other places.

If you’re looking for pretty delicious pizza served with an attitude, this is your place. The folks that own this place actually know what they’re doing when it comes to Pizza and Pasta! It’s not your fancy chain restaurant, it’s much better. The décor is quite outdated, the restaurant has a weird smell, and the chairs are sticky; but it beats the heck out of any other Pizza/​Pasta place that I’ve been to in DFW. Also, it’s not associated with that other Joe’s Pizza and Pasta; that place is nasty, don’t waste your money. If you’re ever in the Haltom area, just take the short detour and give this place a real chance! Yum!

This pizza place is the best «fast food» pizza in the Metroplex. Big Joe’s IS NOT affiliated with Joe’s Pizza and Pasta places. Guys that own this place are really from New York and they know how to make good pies. My favorite is just a regular cheese pizza with extra sauce. The sauce is so tasteful and it reminds me of this other pizza place in Tully, NY (upstate) called Pizza and More.
Grimaldi’s pizzeria in the Dallas area is the only one that compares but that is a more fancy place and is not in the same category (Fast Food). Big Joes is the best as far as «fast food» pizza is concerned. The staff are very nice and they have that NY accent. So check out Big Joe’s and they will make you a pizza you cannot refuse!

We been going to this Joe’s for years. Fancy décor-​no. Sweet staff-​no. Good prices-​YES. Food-​wonderful! The lasagna rocks, lobster ravioli is great, marinara is nice (can be a but peppery), alfredo sauce is too die for, pizza (espesially italian sausage and peppers) and calzones are yummy… overall a place to grab consistently good food any time.
Misses–
Dessert sucks. No coffee. Restroom stinks.

I can explain the food in this place really quick to people who live in this general area.
Been to Joe’s Pizza anywhere else within the Tarrant County area? Well, this will just be more of the same.
For everyone else, Big Joe’s is an attempt at creating a New York style pizzeria /​Italian food (Notice I said attempt).
If you can get past the architecture of the store (an old Whataburger restaurant), the staff and the dining area scream New York Italian restaurant.
Unfortunately… some of the ingredients used seem mediocre (especially the clearly processed cheese).
Is it bad though?
Not really, but don’t expect to be blown away either.
(Lobster Ravioli seems safe — according to my girlfriend and Cat N.)
It’s just good old generic Italian food for a reasonable price.

Came here for lunch one day because it’s close to my work. I heard bad reviews from this place but I still wanted to try it! and I’m glad I did because what I ordered had flavors! my friend ordered a calzone and he said it was bland. I got the lobster ravioli and it was goood!!! we shared garlic bread and that was bland because there was no garlic taste to it!
the food is cheap for a good portion.
