Even though it was slow, two tables being served when we walked in, it took quite a while to have a disinterested waiter take our order, that young man never came back. My wife ordered the chili and biscuit. She only received the chili. When I asked someone working there that we had not received the biscuit, I was told nonchalantly that they had run out of biscuits. I was still charged full price. When we visit Yosemite again, we will just drive further or bring our food.

A great breakfast and the portions are huge. No one should be walking out of Ellie’s hungry. Place is clean, staff are friendly. So glad we have Ellie’s in our small town.

Great change in management. Really Good cheese burger and fries. I had guests this weekend who needed glutten free food prep and talked to Ellie. She was happy to accommodate glutten free on glutten free prep surfaces (for Celiac’s disease sufferers). Very refreshing to hear. I’ll be back for breakfast next.

Ellie has totally turned this place around and it is a great little café/​diner now. I ate at this restaurant once when it was PJs and never wanted to come back. Ellie cooks great food though and the service is awesome. I’ve come here for breakfast and like the omelette and hashbrowns (nice crunchy brown). For lunch I get the Cobb salad or a patty melt.
I came in for a very late lunch one day and ordered the fish and chips. They had run out of malt vinegar so the waiter ran over to the grocery store to get some. Talk about service!
Another great thing is they are totally cool about creating separate checks for individuals in large parties.

We love to go to Ellie’s Café. They have wonderful burgers, chili and soups. Their spaghetti on the weekends is yummy. The restaurant has great service and Ellie is so very nice. Nice and clean also. Really a wonderful addition to our little town of Groveland.

One of the better pizzas we ever had considering we live in the bay area and had many options. The topping varieties were perfect blends. The staff were friendly and awesome. Next time we come through to yosemite we will be definitely stopping in again. We will also let our friends know to stop here for great pizza.

Ellie’s is the best eatery in town. That includes the PML country club. Open 7 days a week, 7am-​8pm. Breakfast, lunch and dinner. Prices are reasonable, portions are generous and service is good. Homestyle cooking. You won’t be disappointed. Sports fans will love the 2 HD flatscreen tv’s. Local residents get a discount. Three cheers for Ellie !

Excellent addition to the Groveland food scene and on the way to Yosemite. I highly recommend the weekend spaghetti and meatballs special. Burgers are quite fine too.
