Came to groveland to visit my grandparents. Went with my grandma and daughter to the store. We couldn’t find canned cranberries so we asked an employee. The girl seemed like we were bugging her and said very rudely«well what kind fresh it’s outside frozen what do u want». I could not believe an employee talked to my grandma like that. My grandma never saw her before and I didn’t get her name. It just really pissed me off when this new girl with glasses disrespected my grandma like that. My grandma has lived up their for over 20years was going to that store when it was kens market. Smh I will never step foot into that store again. It’s a small town and to be so rude like that when everyone knows my grandma she’s such a sweet lady and this young girl was that rude.

A decent selection of groceries, and a good little deli. The house made salads are really good. Overall prices are higher then when there is local competition, but there is no other market in town. Still, a good resource for the small town of Groveland.

They sell fresh coffee, but without any milk which I found irritating. The store had a decent selection, and friend staff. The bathrooms were repulsive to say the least. Nonetheless, this is still an adequate grocery store.

We needed a few items for the long drive to San Francisco — what a pleasant surprise to find how well stocked this market was! Great breads, lovely cheeses, different types of hummus and some fruit. If I was staying in town longer, I would’ve purchased more, including wine! :)

The only game in town for groceries and produce — but if you want FARSUPERIOR meat, head down the hill about ½ mile to Kevin & Randi’s Old Fashioned Meat Market. Grass-fed, organic meats, poultry and seafood and good prices! Noticed that Main St. Market lowered their prices and put a big sign out front. But their meat is not good. Smells bad. Dirty facility. Owner of Kevin & Randi’s used to work at Main St. Market for 11 years, when it was Ken’s, but he became disillusioned with the big store attitude of lower quality and raise prices. You will LOVE the meat from Kevin & Randi’s! So fresh, clean, organic, and well-attended to! They are doing what they love and it shows! We no longer have to bring our own meat from the Bay Area when we visit Pine Mt. Lake. Main St. Meat is disgusting! ALSO, for all of you YOSEMITE travelers — stop at Kevin & Randi’s and pick up some sandwiches or deli meats, desserts, chips, drinks… everything you need for a picnic!

Best grocery store in town, good thing since it is the only one. Great sandwiches, good selections of produce and meat with wide aisles. This is small store compared to super sized Safeways but they have everything for me.

The fresh fruit was an oasis after a day of road food during my Yosemite trip. We stocked up and reloaded our goods of the rest of the way home. A nice note during my time here, I met a woman that was from my town and seemed to have live in my neighborhood and we got to chat during my check-out…its really a small world!

I wish with all my heart I could boycott this market, but since I live here it is almost impossiblr. I just found out today the manager, Mike was fried Friday. He did a great job and knows everyone in town. I wish I could make the time to form a formal protest. I wanted salted peanuts, there were none and I noticed a lot of other items missing. This wouldn’ happen if Mike were there. I will never shop at another MarVal. Their prices are too high, for example cookie mix $ 4.00, $ 1.00 at Walmart.

On the way to Yosemite from Groveland, the girlfriend & I wanted to pick up some basic necessities like food & drink. To that end, we went to the basic grocery in town. Main Street Market is a full grocery, but barely so in some aspects. Selection of some items, such as wine, is much more limited than what can be found in a typical supermarket. For what is in store, prices are a bit high. Of course, the nearest supermarket or discount grocer is not even remotely close to Yosemite, so Main Street Market is a welcome option up in the high wilderness. There’s also a deli in the back of the store that we ordered sandwiches from for a couple impromptu picnics. Main Street Market is a small grocery store, but it basically had what we needed.

Dave Review: Yes, yes, this place is great and its on the way to Yosemite. However, how is it for the locals? Great as well. They always have a good selection of products despite not having the largest of stores. I have watched this store continue to grow over the last 20 years and we actually still refer to it as «Ken’s Market». If you want to stay in Groveland, this place is perfect. If you don’t mind traveling to find your wares, then there are better places, albeit, a lot further.

For being in what feels like the middle of «no man’s land» I was shocked to find a great grocery store with fresh organic produce, seafood and other necessities at a reasonable price. I’m giving it my stamp of approval :)

Last full service market before Yosemite, stocked with yummy organic fruits & vegies, fresh baked breads and rotissiere chickens… good variety of products given its size and great old fashioned butcher counter. While their prices are higher than the national chains, they have friendly staff and are helpful to boot. Worth the effort to stop in.

Main Street Market is the first store where I ever tried to buy alcohol with a fake id(yes, many many years ago). It worked, and we celebrated our good fortune with Boon’s Strawberry Hill and hard lemonade. Five stars!!!

If you drive to Yosemite National Park via Hwy 120 and plan on staying in kitchen-and-cupboard equipped lodging, be sure to stop here to stock up. Fresh produce and fruits, good meats, plenty of stock on essentials, and very friendly service/patrons to boot.
