I really like this restaurant. They have the best Iceberg Wedge and it is only $ 4.29. Their steaks are tasty and you can get a smaller one of 6.5 ounces if you have a smaller appetite. The free popcorn is delicious and I wish it was available for purchase. Their rice pilaf is also one of my favorites. Unfortunately, their corn and carrots always taste stale and I would steer clear.

Went in for a late dinner last night. At first the waitress missed us, so she gave us a free dessert each to compensate. The kids eat free the whole Red Sox season. This is definitely a great place to stop in for American classics and other flair food. The décor is mostly wood tones and it’s rather quiet. There are big tvs with sports and a bar as well.

Great casual sit down restaurant for the family. All meals are filling and service has always been top notch every time we’ve gone. The meals under $ 10 are always a great deal. Plenty of TVs to catch a game in the background, but not a sports bar. There is a bar area but I can’t say that I’ve ever been in there. Go and enjoy yourself!

My first time to this restaurant. Was on a trip and this place was very close to the hotel and seemed like a good place to go. The food was good, had the chicken fried stake with mashed potatoes Everything was good. The staff was very nice and friendly. If in the area would go again.

My husband, daughter and I went there today for our first time, my daughter got chicken tenders, mozzarella sticks and fries which of course those were good. My husband got new England platter or something along those lines which he said was pretty good. Then I got the cod bruschetta we all got our food and I could not believe my food, the fish wasn’t done really at all, and the asparagus wasn’t the best. I told the waitress when she came over to ask how we were doing that my plate is disgusting,. Now don’t get me wrong I’m sure people love the plate but it was not looking to good for me. So she asked if I’d like something different. I told her give me a minute to look over the menu again do to this being my first time. She gave me some suggestions, and went off for me to look. A few minutes later the manager Chris came and asked me if i had made a selection i said yes I’ll have just the fish and chips. He asked the dinner size or lunch i chose lunch and he told me it’ll be just a few minutes. Apologized and went to put my order in. He came back with my food in no time at all, apologized again and walked away, a few minutes after that he came back with a card and told me he was so sorry for my first time being there not turning out very well. He told me here is a card for a free meal of my choice.. And please do try them again. The manager was amazingly respectful and was very understanding. Thank you so much Chris, you really made me feel welcome and appreciated.

The beer on tap here is freezing cold which makes it taste amazing. For $ 2.49 bud select and $.49 wings, yeah sure I will be ok with that. I had the bruschetta chicken the other night which was decent.

Standard chain restaurant fare. The food was decent and the service was fast, but nothing special. Plus they are a Red Sox restaurant so… I’ll only go back under duress.

Decent chain restaurant much like TGIF or Applebees but with a dark wood décor. I had the Lobster Roll, just chunks of lobster not lobster salad. Great value at $ 16.95.

99 is great! Very tasty and large menu if you are in a «I don’t know what I want» mood. Had the lobster roll and it was delicious! Very good wait staff and fast!

The hot buttered lobster roll is pretty good, coleslaw not bad, French fries were cold & soggy, basically inedible. Mistakenly I ate at the bar in hopes of a quick dine and dash. Bartender was loud & gabbying with the men instead of attending to her customers. Actually approached the bar register to pay because she never returned to cash me out. Even then she ignored me until she saw that I was heading for the front register. Roll, thumbs up, everything else, thumbs down, although I would add that this 99 does offer a 10% military discount with I.D.(so ask for it!) If you’re looking for a good lobster roll with great ambiance, there’s obviously a number of other places to go in the area. Zero customer awareness… send her back to the casino!

So check this out, you come to Connecticut, especially the Mystic vicinity in hopes of getting the best and freshest lobster. My friends and I check out this joint to see what’s the big deal. Moreover, the menu items sound pretty well-rounded and looks to be consistent or trustworthy. This sort of looks like a Fridays or those chain restaurants, so it is suggested to stick with what you know… We ordered a bunch of different things… the nachos were pretty good. the Salsa tasted fresh or at least it was flavorful. It’s a great dish to share as an appetizer. A few people also ordered the lobster roll… it was affordable. but not altogether fresh. Actually if you’re a lobster eater, you can tell it was frozen. BUt that’s OK! there were plenty of other things that are good and reliable. Check out the menu and it’s a great place for late-night diners. since Connecticut has no set night life! hahah.

I used to love this place, back when I lived in the area. We used to go all the time. Apparently, things have changed! A lot of my favorites were not on the menu anymore. Sad times for Sarah! I met up with a group of friends here the other night. I ordered the top sirloin steak, which comes with broccoli and mashed potatoes. The steak itself was very nice, cooked medium rare, as I asked. The broccoli was also cooked to perfection. The mashed potatoes, on the other hand, were SOSALTY!!! They used to offer a baked potato with the steaks… but not anymore? I also ordered the Chocolate Milkshake Cake Petite Treats, which on first taste was delicious, but soon became sickeningly sweet. Good thing it was a small portion! Everyone else seemed to enjoy their meal well enough, but none of us were blown away. Fast service, and the waitress offered to do separate checks for the 8 of us, which was greatly appreciated.

This place is a lot like a cheaper Ruby Tues or a more mature Applebees(with darker lighting). I’ve been here before and they make a good steak at a decent price(a lot of meals are around $ 9.99). Today’s experience was pretty mixed. We were seated fast and had a very friendly and accommodating waitress who also forgot(and needed reminding) for a lot of what we asked for(interrupted me while I was giving her my order to ask something I was in the process of saying too.). The nachos were pretty freaking perfect but my friend and I both found our pasta dishes just okay.

I’ve been here a bunch but never felt compelled to write a review(it’s 99, don’t you get the same service/food pretty much every time?) until this last visit. I ordered my meal and asked for double cole slaw instead of a dinner roll. My waitress suggested that might not be okay(because the roll technically doesn’t count as one of the sides) and I said something like, «Oh, that’s okay. Just skip the roll then, I’m sensitive to gluten.» She came back a moment later with a gluten-free menu for me. I turns out, a TON of their food unsuspectingly has or MAY have gluten in it(including their coleslaw, which I assume uses wheat flour as a thickening agent?) . Anyway, I was very impressed by this waitress’ follow through. She didn’t have to check to make sure what I was getting was gluten-free(I mean, it was chicken. I assumed it was gluten-free!) but she went that extra mile, and even worked with me to help build a gluten-free meal from their pretty slim gluten-free menu. She felt really bad that I couldn’t eat what I wanted. I wish I could remember her name, but anyway, she was awesome and I really appreciated that she took that extra step to make sure I wasn’t eating things I was allergic to!

Friendly service, okay food, same old 99 restaurant atmosphere. We came here for a quick lunch after moving into a hotel near by. We were hungry, so this place seemed like our best option. It’s your typical 99 chain restaurant.

Decent food for a chain restaurant. We stopped for a late dinner while driving up to Cape Cod. The husband ordered a lobster roll that was surprisingly good, and I had a steak, which was probably medium rare even though I ordered rare. I think this place is a step above most of the chains like Applebees, judging by what we ordered. The kid’s meal was pretty comprehensive and they offered a lot of extras with the meal. Our waitress was surprisingly good, and brought me a great unsweetened iced tea with a splash of mango. Loved it. All in all not bad for a chain restaurant. We don’t have them in our home area, so it was a slight change of pace.

I tend to avoid chains. All too often they disappoint and everything ends up tasting like hypertension on a plate. That being said, I’m okay with the 99. Granted they are a hit or miss — you can taste the freezer burn on the fries, and their veggie burger — in a word: nasty. BUT… There are some items that are consistently okay — the salads are surprisingly fresh. And unlike the neighboring chains, who load up their salad options with bacon and cheese(why god, why?!) they offer yummy options with nuts and fruit. The tropical chicken salad is by far the best. The pasta dishes are usually prepared well, and the soups, including the chowder and french onion are good. The 99 might not be my first choice, but if all else fails, I know I’ll get a decent, affordable meal.
