Four stars only because of value for the price, otherwise a 3. Motel definitely shows its age, but room was clean and bed was comfortable. Bathroom well-supplied. Courteous staff. Good coffee.

Stayed here for a week with my wife and adult son while we visited relatives near by. We booked the room as a package with airfare and rental car. The room was good sized but smelled a little off(maybe mildew). The pillows were so dirty and stained that you could clearly see how bad they were through the pillow cases. We exchanged a couple of the pillows for ones that were marginally better. The room had two queen beds for three people, unfortunately getting towels for three people was a challenge. We were always able to get another set of towels but it took a walk to the office to do it. Every evening required at least one trip to the office to take care of something that was missing or not quite right. One day they even forgot to make up the room at all! The room was equipped with a small refrigerator and microwave but no coffee maker. We weren’t told and didn’t find out that they have coffee available in the morning at the office, it would have been really nice to know that when we checked in or when we talked to the manager about the problems with the room. The staff was generally friendly and always tried to get us what was missing(towels, soap etc.) but we had to work at it to get what we needed. We even had several Police cars at the Office one morning. I don’t know what was going on but I don’t think they were there for the coffee. I don’t think I’ll ever stay at this hotel again. It was my first experience with a Rodeway Inn. I don’t know if it is typical or not but I’d be very hesitant about trying another one.

Booked this hotel because it was less expensive than the rest of the hotels in the area. If you’re on the fence about spending the extra $ 15 for a nicer hotel, just spend the money. When we arrived, we were given a room that smelled terrible, had wall paper ripped off the walls, stains on the furniture and carpet, and had hand prints on the mirror and the headboard of the bed. There were also stains on the bathroom wall and hair in the towels in the bathroom. Granted, the hand prints and hair may have been left there from the cleaning crew, but as a guest it doesn’t look good at all. When I asked the man at the office for a refund, he said it wasn’t possible because I booked through Priceline. He relunctantly gave me another room, but also asked that I show him the things that were wrong with the first room. I took him around and pointed out all the things that disgusted me, and he was very defensive, even going as far as to say«Well you can’t get your money back so there’s nothing you can do now if you don’t like the new room». For $ 85 a night, regardless of the price of the surrounding hotels, I expect some level of cleanliness. The new room we were given was cleaner and didn’t have those hand prints and much fewer stains(although the pillows were yellowed). The next morning, the man at the office did call us to check to make sure we didn’t need anything more, and was very nice to us for the rest of the trip. You live and you learn. Next time, I am definitely going to stay in a more reputable hotel for the extra $ 15 – 20 a night.

Decent hotel. Pretty boring, but the room was a pretty good size and it was clean. No coffee maker. Free wifi. It’s pretty close to Mystic Seaport, which is why we stayed here. The hotel is on a bit of a back road, but not too far away from other businesses.
