Everything was really good. Ordered the monthly special(Artichoke) minus provolone and mayo, add Swiss, mushrooms, banana peppers, chicken and teriyaki sauce. Yummy. My son like his salami and cheese 4″. Fries were awesome and fresh and lemonade was good. Will definitely return.

I had the opportunity to visit this restaurant on Saturday afternoon. Friendly gentlemen took our order and we were requested to move towards the register. That’s when it all started. .. There was an old lady in uniform and a younger women in casual clothing. It was obvious that the young woman was being trained by the older lady. Training is not the proper word to describe what we observed. The young lady was talked down to and treated like a second class citizen. After watching this training technique for 10 minutes, the young woman got fed up and just walked out of the store(Good for her). The older lady stated to the gentlemen, I don’t know why she left. .. Really. .. The older woman also had a cough which at times didn’t cover her mouth while preparing the sandwiches for the customers. I will definitely not come back to this restaurant after this experience.

First off, the food is AWESOME! I happened to be staying at the hotel across the street for a training course and walked over to get dinner. I went with the Philly cheese steak. Super fresh perfectly toasted bread, served looking picture-perfect and taste out of this world! Pat’s and Geno’s in PHILLY both put to shame. Penn Station subs uses much better ingredients and puts together a hell of a sandwich. I paired the sub with the fresh cut french fries which were made fresh for my order, hot crisp, flavorful — perfect. I walked right past the Panda Express a few doors down and for some reason that place was crowded and this place wasn’t. What are people thinking!!! Do yourself a favor and go here. Fresh made to order food using high quality ingredients, great value, friendly service and a nice place to sit down and have a satisfying meal.

Oh my goodness has this place fallen behind. I have been here for 15 minutes and in that time have seen two orders go out. The line continues to build and the people working here don’t seem to care. I have been here at least 50 times and will never be back here again. The service is awful. And I’m not just saying that. It’s absolutely pathetic how bad it is here. CYOC in Waukegan is absolutely incredible and has been my go-to for the past year or so. Not only is the service awful but they raised their prices AGAIN. Not just a couple cents but by $ 0.35-$ 0.60 per sub. It’s absolutely pathetic. It goes to show you that their sales are suffering and they have to raise their prices just to stay afloat. This is a clear indication at how pathetic this place is. They will certainly miss my business considering i am out and about for a sub at least twice a week. I am usually very thorough with my reviews but it’s gotten so bad here, it isn’t even worth my time. Steer clear or you’ll regret it. As Charles Barkley used to put it. «Just tuurrrible!»

I was just here few weeks ago. But anyway had a very good sandwich. I usually go to subway, jimmy johns. But Penn Station East Coast Subs did the trick for me. The staff was very friendly and made an awesome sandwich. Wish there will be more locations as I’m getting sick of eating subway…

Excellent had the cordonblue, bread was some of the best out of all the other sub joints around. Looking forward to trying more of their subs.

Service was pretty bad, there were 5 people working and 4 people waiting on food some how… and they still messed up the order. Food is decent, but I’d much rather go to sammies right next door. One perk to this place, the large fries is absolutely massive. It fed 3 of us.

Came in today for the first time, I tried the chicken Parmesan with fries which were both amazing. I will be coming back again soon :) Also, the staff was very nice and helped me with any questions I had

Repeat customer. I’m have been to Penn Station many times and even work there when they first opened, today I finally got around to writing a review. I have had just about every sandwich on the menu all of them are delicious my complaints never come because of bad food. They come from the service. Today I ordered a 10inch chicken parmesan with mushrooms and onions, along with a 6inch cheese bread with pizza sauce, a medium fry and a regular sized pepsi. All of which were delicious. Only complaint is the meat on my sandwich was all in inches 2 through 8, their were about 2 inches on each end of just onion and mushrooms. Food 4⁄5 My buddy and I walked in ordered after a couple minutes and walked down the line and paid right away(sounds obvious but I have had times where I ordered and then paid 5 minutes later). We sat down and waited 20MINUTES for our food. It was busy when we were there, being it was lunch time, their should be more than 3 people working. Goal time for a sandwich is 7 minutes. Service 2⁄5

I went to this place twice when it first opened, and the food was ok, at best. There were about 10 employees working, and none of them knew what they were doing. Now, a few years later, I thought I’d give it another try. It was even worse. The place was almost empty. There were 2 people in line in front of me and it took 20 minutes to get a sandwich. There were two people working there: a young man who was incredibly slow and messy, and the manager who was a complete jerk. He wasn’t friendly and he was constantly demeaning and degrading the young man. Instead of the constant criticism, train your employees properly. The preparation area looked dirty and gross. The worst part of my experience was the food. I got the philly cheesesteak with all the recommended toppings(except pizza sauce). It was greasy, heavy, and really did NOTTASTEGOOD. 9 hours later, I’m still burping up a disgusting taste. small lousy sandwich, small fries, and a small drink $ 10 = no thanks, I wont be back. How is this place still in business?

Terrific staff. I had never been to this chain before, so yesterday was my first time. A six inch warm sandwich costs around $ 5. Ordered the grilled veggie with teriyaki sauce, the cheese bread, and fries. Teriyaki sauce is basically soy sauce with corn syrup. It’s worth a try. Spicy mustard is pretty spicy, as are the banana peppers. The sandwich was great, the bread was fresh, and the fries were AMAZING!(They serve the fries with ketchup and VINEGAR, if you can believe it). The vinegar was awful, as expected. Oh, and the fries are cooked in peanut oil, FYI. The cheese bread was okay, I wasn’t a huge fan(mostly because I think the marinara sauce it is served with could use more flavor). Really nice employees, felt very welcomed here, would definitely go back again.

So glad I stopped in here for lunch today! I went with the chicken teriyaki sub and it was amazing! Sandwich had lots of flavor and the bread was soo soo good! They prepare the sandwich right in front of you then put it through this toaster so it’s fresh and warm! Absolutely delicious

I had a great sub and fries this evening, it took a little while because i ordered it grilled, but it came out drilled and assembled to perfection. I was greeted when I entered, the manager came and checked on me when I was eating to see if everything was ok. And I was acknowledged when i left. There are fancy restaurants that do not treat you with the amount of care and respect i received tonight! Give this place a chance! They have very good bread and great ingredients. I am going to come back and try them all.

I’ve been to this location a few times and have ordered the Philly and Reuben thus far. Both sandwiches I thought were quite good and certainly a large step above most chains. I also like that you can get subs at 6″, 8″, 10″ and 12″. Fries were as good as any. I would agree that service is slow. Every time I’ve been here it has never been particularly busy but have had to wait an unwarranted amount if time. Some of this is due to the fact that they cook some of their meats before putting them through the oven, but the main reason is they’re understaffed and unorganized. I own three restaurants and I understand that the manager is trying to save on labor but in fact the slow service is going to end up killing business in the long run — particularly a lunch crowd as people are going to stop coming to a sandwich place that takes 10 – 15 min to get your order.

Good subs, a little pricey. Meh. Would give them four stars if the employees making and handling my food wore gloves. I find that kind of gross. Not everyone washes their hands. It took 20 minutes for four subs because there was only two people working… Bottom line, not too impressed but food is decent. Wish they were more sanitary. Jersey mikes is better in my opinion but stations Philly cheese steak is fantastic.

I think this place is a 3.5 star for me… You walk up and order at the counter. They specialize in philly cheesesteaks but have other hot subs to choose from. Normal seating area for a sub shop. I tried the cheese steak plus their«hand cut fries» that they make a really big deal about. Both were pretty good. My fav things were the awesome sweet tea(truly southern sweet tea — strong and sweet!) and the homemade chocolate chunk cookies. Those were 4.5 stars :)

This is my first visit here and always happy to see a new business such as this open in the Grayslake area. There is plenty of parking here and being new the in side is very clean. They did a good job in the overall set up and it should handle a crowed easy enough. However, the rate of service was very slow… so slow in fact I was getting a bit agitated, especially since there were only two people ahead of us who’s orders were being filled. Once the sandwiches were delivered, and I took my first bite of a traditional Philly, I was pleasantly pleased, despite my agitation of the slow service. The roll itself was very nice and the contents of the sandwich were very good. Although if your expecting an overflowing sandwich piled high with meat & cheese, your not going to get it here. Nonetheless, I did find the 10 inch portion to be satisfying. If your really hungry, you may want to go with the larger size. Typically I don’t give out 3 stars as I don’t think it gives my fellow Unilocalers a true stand on where my opinion is for a particular establishment. I’m going to visit here again and will update my overall rating then, but for now: Quality of food = 4 stars Quantity of food = 3 stars Wait staff friendliness = 4 stars Wait staff efficiency = 2 stars

I have been craving an authentic Philly cheesesteak sandwich after watching hours and hours of Man vs Food and other cooking shows. My weakness for a serious cheese wit sandwich is well known. I was surprised to see this place after working out nearby as I never saw any advertising for it! I definitely had to see if my staple sandwich was on the menu. At first glance, the place is super clean and the folks that work there obviously like their jobs. I without hesitation ordered the Philly Cheesesteak. The standard comes with provolone but I opted for the genuine American cheese. The options for sizing and ingredients caters to everyone. It was good but I don’t think it went well with the mushrooms or banana peppers. Maybe a cheesesteak snob, but give me a crusty bun with shredded ribeye smothered in Cheeze Whiz and I will never leave you. I will be back because the menu is vast and the service is great.
