Absolutely wonderful. The meat is fresh, the best i have ever had, and reasonably priced. Would highly recommend.

My husband called here this morning to ask about getting a bone-​in standing rib roast for Christmas. He spoke with Chuck, the owner. Chuck told him that they have them, but that he thinks they’re a rip-​off because you pay for a pound or a pound and a half of bones. He assured my husband, though, that they had them and that we should come in anytime today to get one.
We went in about two hours later. Not only did they not have any, they acted like we were crazy for even asking. They offered us boneless and when we declined didn’t offer to get a bone-​in roast or help us find where we could get one.
I’m sad — we were looking forward to supporting a local business and getting something better for our Christmas dinner.

We won’t be going back to Tony’s. Our first and last experience was purchasing a fresh turkey for Thanksgiving. I stated we had never been here before and inquired about the farms they purchased their meat from, I was given short curt answers and pretty much blown off. Then it comes time for checkout, we gave a debit card to be met with another curt outburst of «we accept ONLY cash or check». We paid an extra 3.00 to get cash from the ATM in the store and left. It looked like such a gem, but obviously they don’t need any new business. Just plain rude, is how we summed it up.

I purchase a lot of fresh meat for a large dog, whom has server food allergies. It is difficult on the budget! Tony’s Butcher Shop’s owner Chuck is the nicest guy I have meet in a long time. He runs his business like business used to be run… all about the customer. He works with me and my needs and has meet every order that I have placed on time, on budget and always meets or exceeds expectations.
I also have purchased meat for myself (when I can afford it) from Tony’s and the quality is superb! The customer service is awesome. I really can’t say enough good things about this place.
As long as Chuck runs the place I will be a life long customer!

The place is clean, easy parking and easy access. Most importantly, they had it all when it comes to meats. If you don’t see it in the display counter, then look up on the back board and you’ll see a ton of items listed. The, if you still don’t see what you’re looking for (lamb perhaps) they can help you out.
I’ve gotten a variety of meats and different cuts from these folks and 100% of the time it has been outstanding!
As with any butcher shop, they are a tad expensive, but the quality of the meats is far superior than what you’ll be from the chain. If I’m serving up a meal for a special occasion, this is my go to place!

In my never ending search for a full service butcher I have come back to Tony’s as my «go to» meat house.
The meat is very consistent and the service is pretty good. They did, however, lose my beef tenderloin order at Christmas but cut me a nice loin while i waited.
Our Christmas day Chateaubriand was moist, tender, and really flavorful. We skipped the traditional Bearnaise because the flavor of the meat was enough to carry the dish.
The staff is knowledgeable and the location is pretty easy to find. Parking can be a bit of a challenge on a busy Saturday
FYI NO PLASTIC! They do take checks however (go figure) .Cash of course is king.
My wife was in several weeks ago and forgot about the no CC rule. She also did not have her ATM card with. They allowed her to take the purchase and send the check by mail… Who does that anymore?
It’s not EVERYTHING I would like in my neighborhood butcher shop but it as close as I’ve found in the suburbs. Their case has a pretty decent selection but I recommend placing an order in advance for cuts like prime rib.
Enjoy the beef and pork. Be sure to grab some of the bacon too. Have not tried the chicken but an earlier review sings it’s praises. I will try soon
I am fan of Tony’s for those special dishes that demand great quality meats.

The meat is to die for. The team at the shop is always willing to give you suggestions on best ways to cook. The frozen meals (peppers, meat loaf, etc) are the best we have had and very economical. If you want quality meat — we definelty recommend Tony’s. We won’t buy meat any where else. All butchers are so very friendly!

Tony’s is a great little mom and pop meat shop with a great selection and top notch product.
I ordered a fresh turkey here for Thanksgiving and my guests said it was the most flavorful and juicy turkey they have ever had. I also get beef filets and pork tenderloin here, which are both amazing. I’m so spoiled now, I won’t ever buy pork tenderloin filled with preservatives from a chain grocery store again.
Although I haven’t tried them, Tony’s also offers the difficult-​to-​find andouille sausage, kabobs, stuffed meats, stuffed mushrooms, and frozen pre-​made dishes like lasagne and ravioli.
The one drawback is that they do not take credit cards, but they do have an ATM in their shop.
They are open seven days a week so getting fresh meat for Sunday dinner is really easy.

I wish I went here when I first saw the sign. The quality here is so much better than any grocery store meat department. The pre– made meals are so clutch after a hard day at the office. I have sampled the sausages, London broil, chicken kabobs and ground beef. This place is so damn tasty, if you want a good meal get over to this local butcher shop and get your grub on!

This place is top shelf. They are a true neighborhood shop. They focus on quality and customer service. We’ve shopped here many times, always happy with the quality and service.
Recently, we bought some meat that didn’t seem right when we got it home. We took it back and they explained why that cut was that way. They offered a full refund and wanted to make sure we were happy. The meat was fine.
We were happy and we’ll be back.
This is the way it used to be. Old mom and pa shop service. Highly recommend.

This was a wonderful place to find solid and tasty cuts of meat. I’d far prefer to pay the slight premium for these steaks than get questionable cuts at the local Jewel. The store is clean and the folks behind the counter are incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. Highly recommended for those in the area.

Combine the best quality meat in Lake County, with affordable prices and extraordinary customer service and you have Tony’s Butcher Shop. I have used them numerous times over the past year and will never think twice about where to go for beef, pork, seafood, or chicken!

I am a regular at tonys. They will get you what you want if you don’t see it out. I would say the quality is very good, prices are a bit high, but everything tastes great! Their chicken actually tastes like chicken, not like that stuff at a grocery store (unless it is that amish chicken, that is good too). They also have quickie frozen meals if you are feeling lazy. The shop is clean. The guys are kind and knowledgeable. Wayyyy better than some of the sloppy, lazy jewel butchers (not all Jewel butchers, just some seem to care less about their job).

OMG what a great steak. Best steak I can remember having in or out. Had to cook it in a grill pan since my grill is OOC and it was still the best. Can not wait to buy more!

Tony’s is far & away the best place to buy high quality meat in the area (even better than Sunset in Liberyville). They have 5 star restaurant quality steaks (their NY strips are gorgeous & thick). While more expensive than grocery store meat, you get what you pay for.
They also carry a nice variety, including flash-​frozen seafood.
The team there is always nice & helpful. Buy from Tony’s with confidence, you won’t be disappointed. Bring cash or a checkbook, they don’t take credit or debit cards.

Steaks are UNREAL! Yes, they’re more expensive than Jewel, and Dominicks but folks… YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR! I find they cut their steaks a little thick, so one will actually feed both my wife and I. We just ask them to fillet them in half. NY Strips are so tender I can cut them with a fork, no expensive steak knife needed!
Once I asked why they’re so tender vs. Jewel or Dominicks… he explained a lot of reasons why, and I was delighted that they sell only grass fed beef! Love It!
Their frozen meals are also delicious! They give you cooking instructions also! Every time I go in there, it’s a most excellent experience!
Bring cash or your checkbook, they don’t take credit cards! They must be Dave Ramsey fans!

Can’t find a better butcher shop. I asked Tony why his steaks are better than Jewel and he spent 15 minutes explaining the differences!
He’s a great man from England and takes pride in the food that he sells. A GREAT experience and GREAT food!

Tony’s Butcher Shop and Wine Market is my favorite place to buy our meat. Aside from having great service, their steaks, ground beef, prepackaged dinners and specialty items are to die for. They have meals that are easy (30 minutes) and already made, and then they can help you with dinner parties. Fresh turkey’s at the holidays… corned beef for St Pats day. Stuffed Mushrooms, cabbage rolls, stuffed pork chops … and their steaks… they are the best.
