Toppers Pizza

I think it’s safe to say that this is my favorite chain pizza place in town. The food is consistently good and it’s always super fast. It’s not dripping in grease like some other chains (ahem, Jets) and it’s always cooked through and never soggy. I guess I’m the lucky one; I have never had any of the issues that other Unilocalers have mentioned.
They have some good deals, including a $ 7.99, 3 topping pizza for takeout (M-​W only). Their mushrooms are fresh, the green peppers and other veggies are crisp (not limp and soggy like some other chains), and the sausage is delicious (huge chunks, not those dried out little pieces you sometimes get). Their specialty pizzas are all great, and they have several to choose from. The Topperstix are super cheesy and a great treat if you want something with your pizza. Ordering online is pretty easy and I have never had any issues with their system. Last night I ordered a pizza online and it was ready in 10 minutes.
I will say that this pizza isn’t for those who love sauce — their pizzas are the least saucy I’ve found, but the cheese is what makes a pizza for me. And Toppers’ cheese is great! I still order from local places, but I think this is honestly better (and more consistent) than my favorite local take-​out pizza place!

This is an example of how even with a great product, you can loose a customer because of poor service.
My husband ordered two medium pizza online AN HOUR AN HALF AGO with a given delivery time of 1:30pm. It is now past 2pm and when we called to check on it, there was first off, no apology for the wait, and then they tried to put the blame on their online system saying that it gave us the wrong delivery time. To make matters worse, the guy says the pizza SHOULD be out for delivery now. SHOULD?!? You don’t know where your drivers are? You don’t know where your orders are? This isn’t the first time our wait time extended past the quoted time, but the «don’t care» attitude of the staff was especially prevalent this time around.
I have near 500 reviews at the point and I have never once dropped my rating to a 1 star, but good job Toppers, you are the first! yes, Toppers, you have a good product, but not good enough to warrant treating customers with disregard, and managing your operations this poorly.
Ps– pizza arrived at 2:20.

Tried to order pizza from here tonight (Sunday night).

Maybe they forgot so called back again and was put back on hold again for a few more minutes. I patiently waited but when they finally came to the phone they acted as though they didn’t want to take an order and said they were at least 1 hour 30 minutes «backed up» (as though she was annoyed I even called). Click! Really unfortunate that they bothered to drop off flyers at our condo but have this horrible customer service. With the market being so flooded with pizza delivery they really should do better.

My husband and I just arrived back in GR as past residents. We thought we’d try out a new spot. Unfortunately the delivery took over an hour and the pizza was not very good. We got the barbecue chicken pizza and it was so salty that we threw most of it out.

Quick and painless ordering and pick up during Wednesday’s snow storm.

It’s def a bit pricy but totally worth it when you can afford to splurge. Well made, very flavorful & quick delivery

This Toppers is conveniently located between my favorite bar and my home and they’re open really late. It does take a long time for the pizza to be ready if you order in, though. Like 30 – 40 minutes at 1:30 in the morning when there are only two other customers. Jets (my old standby pizza chain, which is unfortunately not so conveniently located) takes half that long during their peak busy time. My favorite thing about Toppers is the Mac & Cheese Pizza. I have a regular «Pizza Night» with my family, and I brought this once. Everyone thought it was tasty and clever, and it was fun to surprise them with something no one had tried before.

My first time ordering from toppers. Online experience was great. Prices were fair. Delivery was early and friendly. The most important part was the food… it was fantastic! It was so good I called the manager to tell them they did a great job. I am very very happy with toppers and will absolutely be coming back for business!

Disappointing in the long run. I stopped going to Toppers about 6 months ago because they consistently got my order wrong, or gave me cold pizza — and the last time they delivered me a pizza it was quite raw in the middle. It had been some time, so I ordered online today and went to go pick it up. After waiting a few minutes, they told me they made the pizza wrong — made it with hand tossed dough, rather than the thin crust I ordered. Too make it up to me, she said she would give me both pizzas. While waiting there for the new pizza I watched the four very young female employees in the kitchen, talking and laughing and playing around, and one girl stayed on her phone the whole time. Watching them in the kitchen I had a moment of clarity, and realized why the pizzas I ordered were always wrong. I finally got my pizza, and they gave me the incorrect one as well. When I got home, I found out the incorrect pizza was raw in the middle. I wish I could say I was surprised.
I feel like I gave them every opportunity, because I really wanted them to be my go-​to place for pizza because they’re so close, but I guess that’s what you get with a big chain like this. The pizza is just ok, the service is bad, and they’re not cheap.

Just something missing in this pizza, it’s missing that extra kick. They have just enough variety of toppings to be delicious but I feel they’re missing some to give me the most satisfying pizza possible. To be honest, these pizzas just sort of taste like cheese, and nothing else, and thier cheese isnt all that flavorable either. I’ve tried to like it on multiple occasions, but I always end up getting sick and I have no idea why.
I’m adding this to my list of «I guess I’ll get a pizza because why not» places alongside domino’s and pizza hut in the area, but base my decision on which special is better. The only decent special is two for tuesday and that’s only if I feel like artichoke that day because generally thier specials are still pretty pricey and higher than the other options.

Very good pizza at a decent price. We tried their chicken BLT house pizza and bread sticks with marinera dipping sauce. Both were excellent. Best part was the friendly delivery person and the prompt delivery.

Best Taco Pizza I’ve ever had! And the pepperoni stix were so good! I’ve been looking for places that sell taco pizza and this place makes it perfectly! New favorite pizza place!

The service is poor, the pizaa is meh. I would not order again. The pizza is a bit on the pricey side as well. The coupons they offer are not a good deal.

After reading the reviews, we decided to try it out and ordered one of their specials… it.was.amazing. The pizza had excellent flavor, bread sticks superb, service was wonderful as wekk. id definitely recommend!

I was pleasantly surprised with how delightful our pizza and bread sticks were! They also have very creative, delicious pizzas the can not be found ANYWHERE else! Nice job Toppers;)

We chose Toppers for a lazy Saturday dinner on account of a recently received direct mail flyer. They had a selection of interesting pizzas and we decided to give the Buffalo Chicken Tall Boy pie a try. Called in an order for delivery and we were the happy recipients of a pizza about 40 minutes later. The large tall boy pie was HUGE and each slice was very hefty. The buffalo chicken topping was pretty good, just a tad too spicy for the average palate (though I personally thought it was fine.)
I cannot believe they deliver so late every day of the week! They’re definitely filling a niche in that regard. I did not realize they were a chain until I looked on their website– but Toppers is worth a try regardless.

I feel like we are very lucky in Grand Rapids to have a variety of really fantastic pizza. My husband and I ordered Toppers last night for the first time, and I will definitely be ordering from them again. The two pizzas we bought (buffalo chicken and a thin crust veggie) were cooked perfectly and both quite flavorful. The estimated delivery time was 45 minutes, and our pizzas came ten minutes early… a miracle in the world of ordering food in. The driver was extremely nice and personable, and the online ordering system was easy to use without any bugs.

Toppers is a new pizza joint in my neighborhood and we decided to give it a try. However it was a disappointing experience. Ordered online via their online order system. Estimated delivery time was 40 min. Waited a little over an hour with no pizza, and called to make sure the order was received. The individual informed me it had been but there was a problem with the phone line. She sounded unsure and when I asked for a new ETA she informed me she couldn’t give me one. Offered no apology and told me the driver would be there as soon as possible. Waited another 40 min, no pizza. Called again and spoke to a manager who asked what the address was where the pizza was to be delivered which indicated that the order still had not been filled. I canceled the order at this point. Seems unorganized. Overall, a poor customer service experience.
