Wow! We have been here for almost an hour and still have not gotten our food. The food isn’t that great either. The hostess is rude and not very welcoming. If you want good sushi suehrio is better but service is lacking. Only if there were more sushi restaurants to choose from but there isn’t.

This place seems to be confused on what it wants to be. On one hand walking into this place looks great and looks fancy at first. The plating also was very appealing. But then you start noticing things. Like the first time I went to grab for some soy sauce and noticed that the sauce had previously splashed onto the wall and wrappers from chopsticks are laying behind the window blinds. Imitation crab being used in quite a few rolls. The teriyaki chicken was tough and over cooked. The steamed vegetables were raw and the onions that were supposed to be sautéed were also raw. This place is also not kid friendly at all. It is almost awkwardly quite inside despite all the table around being full and there are no kids option on the menu. I only give the extra star because the rolls were actually not horrible.

They closed an hour before they say they do. Me and my friends walked in and she said the whole restaurant was«closed». Will never come back to this place.

I really like this place. I’ve had the lunch box which is a lot of good food for the price. The sushi lunch specials are also a great deal, but a limited selection. I usually get a specialty roll and they’ve all been good. The Rok part is also cool. The meat was good, not great, but the salts and cooking it to your liking is a novelty; kind of like the places where you cook your own steaks. The staff is friendly and the sushi chefs are great and will make you whatever you want.

Got 6 different special rolls and they were not appetizing at all. The rice was hard, the tuna on 2 rolls didnt taste good at all, the rolls were big, just a lot of the hard unseasoned rice and nothing was special. I just felt waste of money. Would never go back. On the crunchy roll, i could smell & taste the stale oil. All i enjoyed was the Gyoza.

The sushi — top notch, very good probably some of the best around GJ. Wish I could give it a higher rating but the«Rok» portion was a low sub par. I got the scallops and the rok came covered in tin foil which I found odd, and it was not even close to hot enough so there is no way at all to get any color on the scallops and they just kind of sat there a steamed. Cutting the scallops cut into the foil and made a mess as I tried to avoid pieces of foil. The rok gimmick needs work

We came here for lunch on a Friday. It was pretty slow. Food came out on time but lukewarm. The sushi was comparable to that in a gas station. We mentioned it to the waiter and he apologized but nothing more than that. Didn’t try to make things right. We asked for a manager but was told they didn’t have one on duty. Very dissatisfied! We won’t be coming back.

We were greeted as soon as we walked through the door by a smile & were seated instantly. Ordered drinks that came quickly. We are from florida and I have to say we had some of the best sushi here. They have complimentary meso soup that was fantastic. I will definitely visit again during our stay!

This is not a great place for sushi. All their sushi has imitation crab meat in them and sauces that do not taste great. Service was awkward and slow. I won’t be returning.

Fantastic, highly-recommended. I was just passing through and thought«sushi in Grand Junction, really?» I followed the reviews of others on Unilocal and I’m very glad I did. Incredible sushi and wonderful service. Even their traditional rolls are mouth-watering, but I strongly recommend the baked lobster roll, it’s to die for.

This location has changed hands many times, as any Grand Valley resident can tell you, and the different management & staff have had varying degrees of success. Currently, as Sushi & Rok, they are doing very well! They have an astronomical variety of sushi, pages and pages of options. And if you happen to be with non-seafood eaters, then there are many other delicious items for them as well(Pork, Chicken, Steak, Asian Noodle Dishes, etc) They have unique seating choices too, I had a birthday party of 12 here but they can also accommodate a romantic date, a private business lunch, or a single person sitting at the sushi bar for a quick bite. And that is something Suehiros simply cannot provide. Its always clean, service is quick and friendly. Don’t be put off by its proximity to Applebee’s and Denny’s!

Staying at a hotel down the street and didn’t feel like going downtown to eat after working all day. I see the reviews for a sushi place that sounds phenomenal and I’m sold! Until I arrive in the parking lot and see it’s neighbored by a Denny’s and a Pizza Hut… As others have said, however, the sushi is fantastic. Seriously some of the best I’ve ever had! Don’t judge sushi and rok by its cover!

Dion, our server was fantastic! We had seaweed salad which was fresh and tasty to start. Then New York strip on the Rok, excellent! Don’t miss the Boom Boom roll! Wonderful! We ended with Yellowtail and Salmon sashimi, fresh and ill of flavor. Next time we are in Grand Junction we will stop in again.

My husband and I do a lot of traveling and we’ve tried sushi from California to Vegas to colorado. I consider myself to be kind if a sushi snob and I can’t believe I’ve just had the best sushi I’ve ever had in Grand Junction, Colorado. Sushi Rok is surprisingly amazing!!! The fish is so fresh and delicious. The appetizers are amazing and every roll we ordered was scrumptious beyond our expectations! The service is great, the restaurant is clean, ambiance is good. Incredible.
