Problems overall. When we arrived, the hostess did not greet us. She looked at the seating chart for literally 2 minutes before writing something down and seating us right by her. There weren’t many people there for a Saturday lunch. The chips tasted stale and the salsa was almost all onion and cilantro. Even though the place wasn’t busy, it took almost 40 minutes to get our food. Our 3 lunches: tacos were horrible, no seasoning and the ground meat smelled like cleaning chemicals, refried beans were clumped together with a dried crust on top; chili relleno was burned, when we asked the waitress, she said«that’s how it’s supposed to be»; cheeseburger was over cooked and hard. The ladies bathroom had gallons of paint stored under the sink which is kind of weird. The service was very slow. The waitress never refilled our drinks. We will not visit again.

This was a good change of pace for my fiancé and I. I was in the mood for chips and queso and was not disappointed. They offered both yellow and white queso. A large bowl is perfect for a group of 3 or more. We also split the steak quesadillas and we were both very pleased. The meat was seasoned and cooked to perfection. Although the place was packed we had great service and were in and out in a reasonable amount of time. We will definitely be returning for future visits.

I had the Tacos al Carbon with fajita chicken. The chicken was flavorful and the three tacos were more than enough. The queso, rice and beans were average. Not a fan of the rice. I’d definitely go back and try some different items. Service was just fine and we were easily seated on a Saturday for lunch.

I have been to this place twice and both times I have had get service. The fajitas are to die for the chips are always been fresh and the salsa is pretty good as well not the best, but good. When we went in on a Friday night we had to wait a little while to be seated as to every where u go on a Friday night, as soon as we got seated are chips and salsa was served right away. Our waiter was there right after our food came out quick which was a surprise to me because there was so many people in there. Over all I was very pleased with this restaurant.

This was my first visit to this restaurant and will be my last. My experience was such that I downloaded the Unilocal app so that I could leave a comment. My family of 5 decided to give this restaurant a try. There was a fair number of people in the restaurant which we attributed as a good sign. We were told the wait would be about 10 – 15 minutes. We sat and waited, and waited as we noticed people who came after us were being seated and we were still sitting. We asked the hostess why were people who came after us being seated before us. There were random groups of 3 – 7 per party, A total of 5 tables that came after us and were seated before us. The hostess stated per the manager if a large party comes in their goal is to seat them as soon as possible. I asked to speak with the manager. He made a piss poor attempt to explain the logic behind the reason which still does not make sense. I’ve eaten out with large parties many times before and the nature of eating with a large group is the possibility of a longer wait than the average. Now unless this restaurant is trying to change the industry it’s just plain poor customer service. The manager Neil waived his hand in a gesture to shoo us away and said, «Just give them a free desert.» Now I wanted to slap the crap out of him but considering I was in the company of my young children I refrained. The only reason we stayed at that point was because my children were hungry, it was a Friday night and a wait would be common and since we had already waited 30 – 40 minutes I figured they can at least start eating the chips and salsa. Our waitress Natalie was a sweetie pie, she was very apologetic and worked as quickly as she could to get our food out to us. The owner happened to be in the restaurant that day as well so I figured it would be in his best interest to know first hand about this experience since it is his business. Well, well, well, he punked out and sent Neil. I told Neil I wanted to see the owner, he said he’s busy, I said I’ll wait and yet again we waited and waited, 20 minutes later he finally came. As noted in a previous post the food is only mediocre and I WILLNEVERAGAIN spend my money in an establishment that does not take customer service with a little more respect than this.

We visited Casa Maria on a Saturday for lunch. They have a lower than average amount of people that I would assume on a weekend for lunch. When we walked in we came straight to the hostess stand where two hostess stood, they both stared at us until I finally said we need a table for two. The hostess that came to seat us was clearly in a bad mood and did not speak to us. When we were seated and the«Chip guy» was 2 seconds behind, followed by our waiter. Our waiter was nice and had a very thick accent. I order the chicken burrito and it was pretty good and my friend order the chicken quesadilla I believed she enjoyed. We did not see much of our waiter but it did not hinder the enjoyment of our visit. I definitely think our waiter could have made our experience better, but he was just not around.

ok, i have been hesitating reviewing this restaurant because of my mixed feelings. we have been here a number of times and the food is always good, not great but good. the service however, is another story. the bar is horrible. i cant tell you how many times i have gone there and waited over 20 mins jst to get recognized at the bar. money in hand, no drink in front of me, 4 – 5 people at the bar. drinks are decent once they get to you but even after you order it takes awhile to get to you. my latest experience will probably be my last. i order to go food from here more than anything else and my order has been wrong on a number of occasions. but as i said before, the food is adequate. on cinco de mayo, granted a busy day, my wife, myself, and my stepson went in for a late lunch. two tables occupied in the restaurant. the hostess seemed to be doing us a favor by seating us. no personality what so ever. when the waitress appeared it was more of the same. no personality and i actually felt as though we were an annoyance to her. her answers were short and snippy with a dead fish expression on her face. we asked for a specialty margarita which was advertised in the menue. we were told that the only margaritas they would be serving were the pre mixed house ritas, and the top shelf which today was also pre mixed. we were told twice how busy lunch was and how busy dinner would be. it was approx 4 pm, lunch was well past and a dinner rush would not begin for probably another hour or so. im sorry but i have worked in the service industry for 25 years and would never tell someone i couldnt make them something that was sitting right behind the bar while there was only a couple tables in the place. my main complaint, however was the simple lack of personality of the hostess and the server. i guess it just rubbed me wrong so we paid for the iced tea and went to the other mexican place about a mile away. there are actually 3 within 3 – 4 miles. you would think that giving good service would be a priority. i really think i have had enough with this place. there is better mexican in the area inthe additional comments below i put that there is a full bar. there is if you are fortunate enough to get served. i also put waiter service but in my experience i would have prefered getting my own food to being served by the zombie that we had

They had fish tacos as a special tonight. The tilapia seemed fine… and it was well seasoned. It smelled a tad bit«fishy» but probably because it was overcooked as fish often is which brings out the oils so you get that«fishy» smell… not necessarily an indicator that it was old fish which many people think. While good, there was nothing spectacular about the fish taco… grilled seasoned fish, lettuce, tomato, cheese… pretty basic and plain. A special sauce would have added so much more to the plain lonely taco. But my biggest problem recently has been the sides. The rice is always dry and flavorless and the black beans are soupy and mushy and taste straight from a can. I know you don’t choose a restaurant for their side dishes, but having decent ones that are consistent(consistently good mind you) sure does add to the experience. But for basic US Mexican food… Casa Maria will do.

Went here the other night with the damn fam cause we were feeling a bit burned out on Las Palmas(the other local Mexican place in the area) and I wanted to try this joint… Love the interior and ambience of this place… dark and in my opinion gives off an intimate vibe and the food was OUTSTANDING!!! The sisters weren’t digging the ‘ritas…not that they were bad but the Las Palmas ‘ritas are the BOMB… gotta defer because they are the ‘rita specialists in this family! They offered a shredded beef taco plate and I went for it… closest thing I’ve found to a brisket taco since I been down here… I do miss Cantina Laredo and my brisket tacos back in Shreveport Everyone enjoyed their respective meals, me especially, and this is definitely on my return again on a regular basis kinda place. P. S. They have Sol cerveza so even though I started this review with 4 stars given the fact that they offered the closest thing I have found to a brisket taco down here and the Sol I’m upgrading to 5!!!
