Excellent food and atmosphere. Their signature item is Coney Island style hot dogs and they are top shelf.

In my opinion, Tegeo’s has the best hot dogs in Gloversville. Now this opinion may seem innocuous, but the title of G’ville’s best hotdogs is a hotly contested title. The original Tegeo’s was owned by a mustachioed Vietnam Vet who has since passed away, but the original recipe is still being made here as I assume the recipe came with the store when ownership was transferred. I remember being a little boy in the 70’s being brought here by my mom, reading the WENT daily news updates which were left on each table. The fries are awesome, crispy and piping hot, and the dogs«all the way» are just like they always have been. The diner is cramped, there are only a few booths and a few seats at the counter. The décor is now like a «country ktichen» but the food is as good as always. I was fiending for some good old Tegeo’s dogs and after several weeks of trying to get into Gloversville during lunchtime(they close at 3 p.m.) I was turned away at the door by the sign«Cash Only»…sadly I haven’t carried cash on a consistent basis as I live by the debit card now. Dean’s Dogs, NY Lunch and Mike’s are perfectly serviceable, but if I have to pick, I’m picking Tegeo’s.
