I’ve been to Forever Young’s a bunch of times. It’s always delicious, with huge servings, and pleasant service. I have never had a bad experience with anything here. Make sure you try the Bulgogi and the house-made salsa. They’re absolutely divine!

Great food. Majority of the dished made are fresh that day. Potatoes are delisions. Bol gu gi was fanominal. Friendliest owners I’ve ever met. Very down to earth casual dining. Got 3 meals 2 I ate there and 1 to take home, total of $ 27. Definantly coming back again.

OHWOW, I live in El Paso and everytime I come home to NY we go out of our way to eat at Forever Youngs and each time is better then the last. Healthy portions, reasonable prices, great service and a real homecooked feeling when there. You haven’t eaten until you have eaten here!

My wife and I are here from Michigan to visit family. We stopped in for breakfast this morning. Good choice on our part. I had an bul go gi omelette and my wife had the French toast. The portions were generous and the flavor was excellent. And to top it all off, the staff was very friendly. If you come to town, make sure you eat here.

Wow, had a great meal here. Probably one of the best meals I’ve had in the last year. We had the cinnamon raisin french toast(with real maple syrup) and an omelet. The bread for the french toast is made in-house and was thick-cut. The batter was golden, with a little crunch, and the toast was moist, fragrant and delicious. We ordered their homemade salsa with the omelet. It was unexpectedly great, and being from So Cal, I’m picky when it comes to these things. The omelet was very good and the home fries we ordered on the side were equally excellent. Everything was very fresh, seasoned well and prepared with care. The server was kind, attentive and helpful. My only criticism is that I don’t recall there being any vegetarian items for lunch. Guess I’ll just have to stick with breakfast-for-lunch when I go back!

The homemade cinnamon raisin bread toast, bolgogi omelet, and«salsa»(actually a sort of Korean-influenced tomato and cucumber salad) all lived up the billing of previous reviewers: not to be missed. The preparation on the otherwise fairly standard«American Diner» cuisine was excellent, even if the other items on the menu lack the flare of these few unusual and unique dishes.(We suggested adding a kimchee Reuben.) The service was friendly and outstanding, and while the totals for the bill slip this into the $$ category, that’s pretty much on par for diners in general these days. Coffee was mediocre standard Colombian but was hot and filled up frequently, so I won’t complain too much on that end.(Just a little.) The family running the place were extremely kind and patient with our small kids and happily told us all about the origins of their specialties and how they got their regulars on board. Charming. All in all, pretty nearly a destination joint, but especially so if you’re in the area already. It’s not high cuisine or world-class, but you will not find better diner food at your standard diners and you can have a few pretty unusual things if you’ve a mind.(Make sure you check the specials board.) If you go, look for a sort of non-descript old house with the parking via a driveway to the back. Don’t confuse it with the nearby diner(a small, inferior diner, we were told by locals) which is two doors down. Entrance is in the back. The interior is interesting but a little strange, being in an old house barely modified for a restaurant, and decorated with odd reproductions of minor American19th century oil paintings; it’s the sort of interior that would normally be typical of a bistro dinner-place, not a breakfast-and-lunch diner. All part of its charm, in an odd way.

Best place to eat in town. Gina, Young, and the rest of the staff make you feel right at home as they serve you amazing dishes. I go here frequently, and I always make sure to bring all my visiting friends. Try the chicken wings! The Bul go gi omelet is excellent. The homemade cinnamon raisin toast is also incredible.

My son and I stopped there on June 21 close to their closing time. Rather than rushing us through, they gave us their undivided attention, substituted the things they had made special for that day for the standard fare on the menu, and invited us to have portions that wouldn’t be the same if set aside for the next day. The quality of food and attentiveness of service was outstanding. Hope our future travels through the area are at mealtime.

My husband has business in Johnstown, NY from time to time and he took me to Forever Young ‘s for breakfast. He told me that the food is very good and there’s a lot of it. I was skeptical of this when I ordered. Boy, was I surprised when my meal arrived. He was right there is a lot of it and cooked perfectly. Service is great and the waitress is the owner and is so pleasant. The restaurant offers several specials when you walk in and their homemade cinnamon bread is delicious. The owners sister makes the bread every day. It’s not too sweet and not too much cinnamon either, it’s just right. I highly recommend this restaurant for breakfast. It is open for lunch too, but only have had their breakfast. The atmosphere is sweet and homey. Told my hubby that we will be eating breakfast here every chance we can, when we visit. It is cheaper than the hotel food and better quality.

I was in Johnstown on a Sunday and needed a place to eat lunch. We looked on Unilocal and found Forever Young’s. The place is simple and totally charming. We arrived 10 minutes before closing(they close at 1 on Sundays) but were welcomed enthusiastically. We were aware from Unilocal of their famous Bulgogi omelet. My companion ordered that and it comes with cinnamon bread toast. He doesn’t really like omelets much, but this was really delicious. We’re familiar with Korean food, and wasn’t sure how bulgogi would taste in an omelet. Rest assured, it is very good. They also serve a delicious, untraditional«salsa» that is went nicely with the omelet. I did not feel like breakfast so I ordered their spinach salad w/grilled chicken. There was an enormous amount of very fresh spinach. The grilled chicken was marinated Korean style, absolutely delicious and cooked perfectly(tender, moist, nicely seared). I believe it was about $ 8 and it could easily feed two people. My only criticism is that the dressing(I ordered ranch) was some no-name restaurant supply brand.(Did not taste good.) However, I masked that flavor by stealing the salsa that came with the omelet and dressing the salad with that. The Young sister who handles the front of the house is very polite, pleasant, friendly and accommodating. I can’t imaging getting a better lunch in Johnstown. I would definitely go there if I was anywhere in the vicinity. Since these sisters have such nice cooking and restaurant skills, I will also hope that they add maybe one or two Korean versions of dishes to their menu as lunch specials. I’m sure they’d be fabulous.

We got here just before closing on Sunday afternoon yet were welcomed and soon had the place to ourselves, which meant lots of conversation with the front-of-the-house Young sister who is a real crackup. I was drawn by the bulgoki omelet though I was hoping to have the bulgoki in some other form, like with rice. But, though they are Korean by ancestry, there is no rice and no kimchee… the strategy being to satisfy the tastes of the local community while slipping in a few unique tastes. So, it was the bulgoki omelet and I’m glad I ordered it. A mélange of meat, cheese and egg surrounded by freshly cut home fries and two fat slices of gooey house baked cinnamon raisin toast.(See my photo.) Also got a side of the homemade salsa which was a very smart choice… it’s a generous cup of coarsely cut tomato, onion, pepper and other mysterious things, like a salsa fresca but somehow different and exotic. We also tried the grilled chicken salad and cole slaw, both excellent. The chicken tasted like it had been marinated in the same sauce as the bulgoki and the cole slaw had something indefinable(buttermilk? pineapple juice?) that elevated these standards while still satisfying the meat-and-potatoes crowd. The restaurant is on the bottom floor of a pretty old Viictorian house and you might miss it if you’re looking for a diner-type establishment. Apparently it’s very hot in the kitchen in summer and they like to steer the clientele toward cold fruit soups(eager to come back and try these) and non-fried items. I’ll definitely make this part of my Glove Cities rotation.

Based upon the other reviews, we went here, it was so good getting off the turn pike to get that breakfast! I had the bul-go-ji omellette. AWESOME! Loaded with steak and so much. The toast was killer. The salsa was more like a kim chee I would sit in the back by the kitchen as it is a little homier than up front in the parlor. My wife had veggie skillet omelette. Really good and really huge. Cinnamon raisin toast, homemade MUSTNOTBEMISSED! Very charming and the ride there is about 8 minutes through a slice of Americana. One of the highlights of our road trip, we are after all, foodies!

I grew up in Johnstown and lived there for 20some years. Forever Young’s is a «MUST go» restaurant, for me, when I visit home. Not only for the fresh, home cooked meals and the large portions, but also for the love from all of their staff. Mrs. Knapp(the best cook) has been cooking for the community of Johnstown since I can remember. Do yourself a favor and fill up on anything in the menu, it is worth every penny. My favorite is the sausage, egg and cheese on a hard roll, with hash-browns(I ask for seasoning on the hash-browns). Truly, As good as it gets!

Great service, solid food, nice owners. The cinnamon raisin bread is homemade and simple, light, delicious. Bul go gi omelet was delicious marinated meat. Homemade salsa was so worth it! Has a chile and vinegar base I think. There were a fee extra charges we weren’t sure what they were there for but didn’t ask, so check in advance(salsa was extra too). Coffee was colored water – skip It or bring your own.

My partner, his parents, and I stopped by Forever Young’s for breakfast while we were passing through town, all on the strength of Heather S.‘s review here. We were all pleased. Here you’ve got all the breakfast basics, made largely from scratch, and apparently by a person who cares about how food tastes. Homemade bread, homemade home fries, homemade spicy salsa, homemade Bul-gogi marinade for the sirloin in the omelet, large portions, and never-empty cups of coffee, served on Formica tables in the no-frills rooms of a converted Victorian house, by the super-friendly sister of the owner. This is the kind of straightforward but prepared – with-care meal that I’m so often looking for while traveling, and too often end up with something fried in that horrible yellow liquid that Sysco sells by the barrel in small towns across the state. I wish more diners took a page from Forever Young’s playbook.
