The food here is really flavorful and delicious. Between the five of us, we had beef tacos(fried, handmade shells) and beef, chicken and pork burritos — all excellent! The kids meals are very generous sizes. Service was friendly. We would eat here again without hesitation!

We decided do to try this place while in Glenwood Springs and was extremely disappointed with the food. I mean no disrespect to the owners but this was some of the worst Mexican food I’ve EVER eaten. The margaritas were the only thing worth our $ 50

Decent place for a snack. We were in town walking around and just wanted some drinks and nachos. Our server was great and super friendly. The free chips, salsa, and cabbage pico stuff was pretty good. Got a plate of chicken nachos. Not bad but the beans were grayish. Kinda raised my eyebrow at that, but I didn’t get sick, so winning. Two soft drinks and nachos cost us $ 13 before tip. Not my favorite Mexican place out here, but not bad for the price.

I really enjoyed the food and service at this Mexican restaurant. Our server was awesome. You can really tell this is a small family owned restaurant.

Food is ok except the rice… dry & not good. Be sure & ask for vegetarian beans, they’re better than refried. Service is another matter. Our server was quite friendly but the service is reeeaaaaalllly slllloooooowww. If I only had an hour for lunch I wouldn’t go to this restaurant.

We were recently on our way back to Denver from Glenwood Springs, tired and hungry, and looking for a decent restaurant to rest our feet and get a decent meal at. We decided Mexican sounded good and we came upon this restaurant as we were driving down the main drag. It looked like a nice place from the outside. There were other patrons there but it was by no means full. The waitress brought our menus fairly quickly but it was a while before we saw her again for drink orders. After waiting 5 minutes or so to place our drink order, we waited another 15 — 20 minutes before we ever saw said drinks. At the time of taking our drink orders the waitress informed us she was waiting for fresh chips to be made and then they would be right out. That too was another 15 – 20 minutes. We have four kids, two of those being under the age of 4, so waiting extended amounts of time for a drink and a snack is not our strong suit. I did notice that there was only one waitress for the dining room and she was also the bartender and tending to any patrons that sat at the bar and ordered food and drinks. She seemed very frustrated and in a pretty bad mood. Our food came out in a decent amount of time but it might as well have stayed in the kitchen. I agree with another review of this restaurant that whoever claims this as good Mexican food has never had good Mexican food. The rice was dry and bland. The refried beans were also bland and please don’t bother to order the queso Fundido. I tried the fish tacos and that was a regretful decision. The fish was so over-cooked it was hard to chew. The only thing that wasn’t terrible was the cheese quesadilla that my two little ones had from the kids menu. But let’s be honest, it’s pretty difficult to mess those up. All in all, this place was not worth, at all, what they are charging for their food. The waitress needed more help which caused our service to be very subpar. My suggestion, don’t do it. Chili’s would have been a better choice. Unless all you want is a margarita. Those were good. You’ll just have to wait 20 minutes to get one.

My husband and I love this place. We visit about once a month. I haven’t tried everything, but we are working on it. Their chipotle sauce is excellent. They make it from scratch. I also live the carne asada. It is nicely seasoned and great if you don’t want anything too spicy. The staff is friendly especially Fredy the owner who will take time to chat.

Pretty disappointing experience. The salsa was basically water, the nachos lacked cheese on ¾th of the chips, the waitress forgot a side order of tacos and didn’t come back to the table until we were done eating. The fajitas were so obnoxiously hot that they sat in front of me and sprayed me with grease for a few minutes. Go eat at juicy lucies. At there last night and it was so much better

Vegetarian/vegan friendly! We came here for coronas and chips & salsa in the middle of a day– and it hit the spot. It wasn’t too busy– being a block or two off the main block of downtown Glenwood– it is a solid local spot. The beans are free of animal product so we got a yummy little plate of rice and beans that went perfect dipped with chips. Salsa also came with a delightful pickled cabbage bowl.

When we first walked in, nobody even noticed us. It took a few minutes before we got a table, even though there was nobody there. If your looking for a ‘hole in the wall’ type feeling, this place is perfect. When we sat down they gave us chips and salsa and coleslaw-pico de gallo stuff, and all were absolutely delicious. The food was okay. Not bad but not my favorite. Over all, it was a good experience. Service was good. I would come here again if I was craving mexican food.

We went on a cold snowy night and were the only diners there. Fabulous salsas and margaritas! The chicken mole was very good but slightly over — sweet. Great service. Overall a fantastic experience.

What a really good find right here in downtown Glenwood Springs. Service wasn’t great but it was good. It is a small mom and pop type of restaurant that served excellent food. But the orders were so big we weren’t left hungry and asking for more. They also made some kind of side dish for the free chips and it look like it was a type of coleslaw but I have to say it was outstanding and not something I ever received at a mexican restaurant before. We honestly ate more of it than the salsa. Check this place out but only if have a little time to wait for the food. It is made on the spot and comes out piping hot.

I think Coloradans have no idea how good Mexican food should taste. We’re from San Diego, and the food at Las Margaritas is bland and far from what real Mexican mamas make. We ordered as take out the Margarita combo. It looked good, and the veggies were very good. But the chicken and beef were tasteless. Not only that, but the beans and rice were the blandest I’ve ever experienced. I hope Coloradans will come to Southern California and discover the true taste of excellent comida mexicana.

So I’m sitting here 2 days in a row munching on their free chips and amazing homemade pico di gallo and salsa and having a delicious homemade frozen mango margarita. Beware 2 of these will knock your socks off!!! The service is great and the food is amazing. They are a fairly new business to Glenwood Springs. I highly recommend trying this authentic Mexican restaurant.

I ate at Las Margaritas on a recent trip to Glenwood and was less than impressed. The service was slow, but friendly and the food mediocre. We got there about 12:45 and only two other tables were full at the time. The waiter took our drink orders right away, but it too about 20 minutes to receive our drinks and then he forgot one of them. He took our food order at this time. Overall, we were there for over an hour and a half. My friend ordered the chicken quesadillas. For $ 6.00, it was just a tortilla with some cheese inside, no chicken. It also did not come with any salsa or guacamole. Another friend ordered one cheese enchilada with rice and beans. She received two enchiladas, but he assured her she had only been charged for one. When we got the bill, she had been charged for two. Yet another friend order the fajitas and did not get any tortillas. She had to ask for them twice and the rest of us were almost finished with our meals before she got the tortillas. So 3 out of 7 orders had issues. I ordered a combo with a cheese enchilada and chile relleno. The cheese enchilada was fine, but I did not eat much of the chile relleno. It tasted and looked like a chile wrapped in egg. I know soft rellenos tend to have an egg batter, but this did not seem like a batter. Despite all the negatives, Las Margaritas did have some good points. Our waiter was friendly and apologetic when things weren’t quite right. Their chips, salsa, and slaw were all good(and bottomless). The dining area and bathrooms were clean despite it being very slushy outside. At this point, I would not recommend this restaurant to others, but I also wouldn’t be opposed to trying it again to see if was just an off day.

I’m really sorry to leave this review. I think this is my first one-star. We were walking around the cool Glenwood Springs downtown with many great restaurants. We had a group of 4, and couldn’t agree on any of them. The Unilocal reviews were best for Las Margaritas in the mexican category, so we ended up there. We had one of the most surreal restaurant experiences of our lives. Drink Order — Our waitress didn’t know which beers they had on tap, so she brought water and said she would have the manager come discuss beer options with us. The manager stopped by a couple of minutes later to educate us on the zero beers on tap. So we ordered margaritas. Food Order — three of us ordered identical combos. One of us ordered a side of sour cream. She repeated the sour cream request because of the draft beer incident. Meals came, no sour cream, everyone out of water, so we asked the waitress for refills and sour cream. Appetizer arrives — we asked the food-runner for sour cream and water refills, we got water this time, but again, no sour cream. Back to food order — 3 of us had the relleno /enchilada combo, but two of us were missing the enchiladas. All three plates looked similar, but only one plate had both items, two plates had only one item. So we informed the food-runner of that, and in a few minutes we had small plates with the enchiladas. Food — the beans were okay. The cheese dip and salsa were very good. The chips seemed pretty stale. The cheese enchiladas and rellenos were okay. The seafood enchiladas were prepared with canned fish, we think. Pretty nasty. So much so, that we were a little scared and decided to leave more than half of that uneaten because of a funny metallic taste. The margaritas were pretty good. Although the one person who requested salt on the rim did not get it. The employees were nice, just not too sharp? Not sure on that. They were not busy(about 6 tables out of 12 dining?). Overall, I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant until they have a pretty significant overhaul. We’ve never had so many mishaps in one setting. It was a bummer because we were starving.

Cinco de Mayo in Glenwood Springs. Where to go? What to do? Trusty Unilocal App to the resuce! And there we found Las Margaritas and its excellent reviews. It was a no-brainer. The restaurant is fairly new so the space is very clean and it’s conservatively decorated. It has the airy high ceilings of all the old downtown storefronts. We thought it would be really crowded on Cinco de Mayo but it was mostly empty. In fairness, the entire town was pretty quiet, presumably enjoying some down time before the summer tourist season began. Our server brought us chips and two different salsas right as we were seated. The tomato salsa was a bit sweet for my taste but still pretty good. The clear favorite is the slaw made of cabbage, vinegar and jalapenos, which we decided to try and replicate at home. Bueno! We shared the fajitas for two and got a shrimp and chicken combo. I was kind of blown away by the shrimp. They were larger than I expected and perfectly cooked. The shrimp skillet also included mushrooms, which I thought was unique but really they were more a a filler since we got only about 8 shrimp in total. Nonetheless, I enjoyed them so much that I think next time I’m going to try a different shrimp dish. The chicken fajitas were really tasty also. I’m not sure how the chicken was seasoned but it was tender and moist. The accompanying rice and beans were great, too. I like the option for low fat whole beans instead of refried(not that I took advantage of it, but it was nice to know it was there). We did order a couple of margaritas on the rocks also. They were fairly decent but nothing exciting. Our service was very friendly but the waitress was probably still in high school, so we had to ask a couple of different times before we got some water. I guess it’s a good thing they weren’t very busy! All in all, we had a great experience and Las Margaritas is officially on our list of dinner options in Glenwood Springs.
