Pastas way overcooked, pizza like Domino’s, not that cheap anyway. Service good, but food worse than olive garden’s, nothing to do with Italian cuisine. Will never go back.

Most amazing little gem in town. One of the only places that does brunch on a Saturday. The owners are a wife and husband. She does the cooking with a beautiful GLUTENFREE gnocchi. So personable and accommodating but the best was the intimate family feel! A must try place here in Glenwood!

My husband and I just finished dining at Trattoria and I felt compelled to leave a review. Usually, I am not a big fan of Pizza and tend to go for other dishes but tonight we ordered the mozzarella(the chef makes her own), pancetta and basil one… The dough was outstanding-soft with some crunchiness on the outside and definitely tasted fresh-and the ratio of toppings to dough was just perfect! We ended up the meal with the chocolate ganache cake. Moist and decadent but just enough for 2. The ambience was very cozy and inviting and our server-who also happened to be the owner-was just delightful. The funny thing is, we met a gentleman in our hotel’s elevator, who saw us with a doggie bag and asked us where we had been. As soon as we mentioned Trattoria, he just went on to praise Adrien and the restaurant which showed us that our great experience was not just luck and this place is worth giving it a try. My husband and I do plan on going back to Trattoria Dionisia before the end of our trip and do recommend it to others who find themselves unsure of what to eat when in Glenwood Springs!

It’s not with the main eating places in downtown Glenwood, it’s about a block up the hill. Great for us, no wait! They have a good variety of Italian dishes on their menu and their staff was very helpful. The food was pretty darn good, not the best I’ve had, but in my opinion it’s the best Italian in Glenwood.

We were SO happy to see that Trattoria Dionisia was open on our annual drive to the Palisade Wine festival from Longmont. We have a lot of great restaurants in Boulder County and I am regularly in the Bay Area, and I still rate Trattoria Dionisia in my top 3 favorite restaurants. If you go to a restaurant for the food and service, this place is a gem. The chef apparently makes everything from scratch. Really. Everything. My mushroom ravioli was really extraordinary. The Caesar salad was complemented by a perfect amount of perfect Caesar dressing — noticeable garlic, a hint of anchovy. .. yum. The wine list is modest but the 3 or 4 selections I’ve had to date were very, very nice and inexpensive. And the desserts! My wife had one(that I ate half of) and she limited me to two more. And, of course, obviously all hand-made: cherry tarts, chocolate cannolis, mousse towers, and mouse tarts with fresh pear, and more I can’t remember(so I took a photo so I could show my friends in Palisade). I don’t usually eat pizza, but the waiter walked by with one and it looked wonderful. If you’re looking for the best food on the Western Slope, don’t forget to get off at Glenwood Springs and drive a couple of short blocks to this modest little restaurant with the big Italian chef standing outside.

This place is AMAZING! Family owned business that is well priced. Don’t expect quick in/out service. Expect traditional food and service where the servers actually have a conversations. We had a salad, bruschetta, pumpkin gnocchi and cheese tortellini with cheese sauce. We also got a bottle of wine and Tiramisu for dessert! I haven’t had Italian food like that since I moved to Colorado 2 years ago. We sat outside on their small patio but was so nice. Other patrons were nice as well. We all conversed and tasted each others dishes, just as if it was family style. Don’t let the reviews fool you, this place is amazing! I can’t wait to go back and enjoy more food there

Definitely wanted to like this place. However, the $ 20 Pollo Marsala was watered down and had zero flavor. The sauce was either poorly reduced or they forgot to drain water off the overcooked pasta. Wet flavorless chicken & noodles makes me a sad sad panda. Linguine Vongole — same thing. High Points… Staff was friendly. Romantic atmosphere.

I want to love this place. They make all their food from scratch, have great ambiance(when the tv isn’t on), and enjoyable wines. However, every time I go, the food falls short. It tastes homemade, rather than resturaunt quality. Their pastas are overcooked and bland. I ordered ravioli my first visit, which was the best dish I’ve had so far; it was unremarkable. The fresh bread was the best part. The tiramisu was so so. The next time, I tried the special. It was pasta with creamsauce, mushrooms, and chicken. The chicken was chewy and overdone. There was more sauce than anything else, and too few mushrooms. The basket of bread I got this time had a slice with a bite taken out of it, and the other pieces were too stale to eat. The canoli was so so. Last time I went, I ordered a pizza. The crust was thick, just the way I like it, but it tasted bland. Half of the toppings were obviously canned, and they were poorly spread on top. I hope they clean up their act: bring in more fresh vegetables, cook the pasta for a shorter time, change their pizza crust, and make better deserts. I’ll keep going, just incase they improve.

I agree with Cindi W’s review from 3÷22÷15 — except I consider this place to be far below average. The pasta is packaged — not fresh. The sauces are bland — and we had them all at our table: vodka, bolognese, alfredo and marinara. A piece of chicken on top of the linguine had a bone in it. It is rare that everyone in my family agrees on the quality of food in a restaurant… one of us will not like something, another will like theirs, etc. All four of us were extremely disappointed. We ordered regular gnocchi, spinach gnocchi, and chicken linguine with Alfredo. I would not recommend this restaurant to anybody. If it deserves a visit from somebody, that person would be Chef Gordon Ramsay as a «kitchen nightmare» exercise.

Just another average place taking advantage of the location to turn a dollar. The place itself is easy to find. Seating is dark and normal. Staff is incredibly nice, even if they do make comments regarding non-locals. I had the Chicken Piccata with a Caesar salad. Neither were anything to write home about. The salad was missing the Parmesan saltiness as well as that signature anchovy taste bite. The Lemon sauce was watered down as if the linguini hadn’t been strained. Large portion, too large for one person. But lacked the simple seasoning of salt and pepper. The redeeming quality: my kids had the Sausage and Cheese pizza. Very yummy. This is what I should have gotten. One son had the spaghetti and pomodoro. Just average. Too large of a portion for one 8yr old boy, even. My hubby had the Clams and Linguini. «It was fine. Not the tastiest. I’ve had better.» Moral of the story: making a larger portion does not make a better meal If you go, just get the pizza. Nothing else is really worth it. By the way the herb butter needed seasoning. It was so utterly bland. So evidently they don’t even use high quality butter to spread. — margarine has a more buttery flavor.

If you’re looking for a hole in the wall place with great food and service, this is the place. The menu is small but good. Great place for a meal and drink. Has full bar and good wine list.

Stopped over for a quick cappuccino on a snowy night while traveling from Denver to Salt Lake City. Place was charming and Sara, the bartender, was delightful. I decided to add an appetizer– so I ordered up a cheese dish-Formaggio al… can’t remember, but it was delicious. if you’re looking for a place to drop in and recharge after being on the road for hours, you are well served to check this place out.

This was not at all what I expected. I love Italian food and was really looking forward to the meal. We made reservations, but ended up waiting about 25 minutes to be seated. People who came in after us and did not have reservations were seated before we were. Once we were seated, our server gave us a beer list. My wife attempted to order about half of it, and one by one, was told they actually didn’t have what he had previously listed. It took quite a while for him to take our food orders, and when he did, I ordered a caesar salad to start. He returned to tell me they didn’t have caesar salad. Later in the evening, the table next to us(of people who came in after us) received caesar salads. As for my main course, after waiting over an hour for it, he brought me the entirely wrong dish. He corrected it, but I was disappointed to find that what appeared on the menu as a pasta in a white wine garlic sauce tasted like overdone 99 cent pasta that had been tossed in skim milk. I should say, our waiter was nice enough, and he did remove one of my drinks from our ticket to make up for everything. I should also say that we went to this place because of its previous great reviews, and the owner of the B&B we stayed at told us that she had heard great things about it. They also played great music. It is very possible that we were just there on a really bad night. However, I wish I would have known what we were getting into. We were really looking forward to the meal — it was our big date night of the trip. I should also add, I tried to post this once before and it was deleted. Trying again…

Service = 10 — attentive, but not overly so. They made us feel important. Also, they actually encourage substitutions which I REALLY appreciate as I tend to substitute frequently. They behave very professionally and made me feel like I was in a much more expensive place. Coffee = 10 — I like my coffee strong, dark, and black which is exactly what they gave me, and it was well made — high in flavor and low in bitterness. Bread = 10 — Fresh and comes with a delicious herbed butter. Atmosphere = 10 — I was wanting to relax and that’s exactly how I felt the moment I walked in the door. Food = 9.75 — The noodles were just slightly overdone for my taste, but the rest of the dish was so delicious and well put together that it made me forget all about that tiny tiny flaw. From the fresh tomato sauce and kalamata olives to the chopped garlic, capers, and mushrooms cooked just right. I think I’ve found a new favorite restaurant in Glenwood

The food is not good. The service was friendly and the wine was good. Maybe the lunch sandwiches are OK, but dinner wasn’t. Because the wine was so good we overlooked the stale, undercooked(yup, both stale and undercooked! That takes talent) bread they served us and ordered anyway. The arugula salad was overdressed and had like 4 big thick slices of grana padano. I love cheese but grating 1⁄3 the amount into the salad would have improved the taste and reduced food cost. The arugula was fresh though. The pasta with clams was overcooked, mushy, bland with WAY too much oil/butter sauce(see photo of soggy pasta). The clams were OK. The pizza would be good if it was thinner. Ours came out half cooked(we sent it back for a few more minutes in the oven). We just laughed every time more food came out. It all just missed the mark so badly. This is like a Gordon Ramsey«before» restaurant. Maybe they’ll get their sh*t together eventually, if they don’t go bankrupt first.

Uuuuuugh… how do you mess up pasta? My mother, grandmother, and I came here when we were staying the night in Glenwood Springs. We were hopeful when a local suggested coming here for their authentic Italian food. Upon entering we were greeted with what was perhaps the warmest welcome I have received into a restaurant. Again, I was hopeful. Upon perusing their wine menu we ordered drinks and moved onto the food. My grandma ordered the Bolognese with spaghetti instead of Gnocchi, my mom got the alfredo with tortellini and walnuts, and I opted for the shrimp scampi. The dishes all came out looking beautiful… the taste, however, was not so great. My shrimp were cooked well, but the sauce had so much lemon in it that I found myself puckering when I took a spoonful of it. My mom’s dish was ok, but she said that she could have made it at home. My grandmother’s dish, on the other hand, was just awful. The sauce had barely any meat in it and it tasted like watery Ragu. Maybe it was an off night…
