The food? Solid 4. Fresh raw oysters, amazing burgers and the peanut oil fried French fries are so satisfying. Get extra sauces, don’t shy away from the blueberry chipotle. Service? Also a solid 4. Nice but possibly slightly understaffed during busy periods(the sections seemed reasonably sized but having a busser and bar runner would have made things flow more smoothly IMHO). Why am I giving this place a 3? The chairs here are literally the most godawful chairs I have ever sat in, in my entire life. Who cares how good the food is if you’re so uncomfortable you can’t focus on the flavors and enjoy it? Whether you’re thin and the ill-shaped hard metal seat bruises your tailbone or you’re thick and the awkwardly shaped and positioned armrests pinch your thighs, nobody can sit on these chairs comfortably. They were clearly purchased for aesthetics without anyone actually sitting in them to see if they’d be welcoming for customer’s butts.

The burger I had was terrible. It fell apart and was not worth the price. The waitress forgot about us and when we were ready to pay, it took her 15 minutes to take our cards and then another 10 to process the payment. It was hard for me to even give it 2 stars.

Love, love, LOVE Burger Bach! I went with my family around 3pm in the afternoon and had a great experience. We sat outside on the patio which was great(hot day-spectacular breeze)! Burger was amazing! I got a burger with caramelized onions, lettuce, tomato, American cheese. We also ordered a basket of fries as an appetizer but requested that they come out with the burgers(shared among 4 people) and tried a few beers. The burger is served with mixed green salad; however, I wish I requested this to come out before my burger. All in all, we had great service, great food, relaxing atmosphere! We’ll be back!

Best burger in the Greater Richmond area! Fries and sauces are also top notch! Service is always prompt and friendly. My favorite sauce is the Blueberry Chipotle BBQ.

There is a great story behind the painstaking methods they have to importing and preparing their meats. Never frozen. Farm fresh all the way from New Zealand. Fries are some of the best in richmond if not the best. Available with 12 different sauces including homemade ketchup. They have vinegar to if you like them boardwalk fry style. Crafted drinks are terrific. Nice craft draft beer menu as well(again I always say how about 1 domestic light draft in the mix as my wife doesn’t like craft beer — no one does though anymore at these type places). Excellent staff and service! Oh the seafood. The oysters, mussels and shrimp are all good. Great for appetizers.

They have elevated the humble burger to star status. Great choice of beers rotates frequently, leaving tried and true selections for the less adventurous. Always a good meal at a fair price without resorting to chains.

I have heard so much about this place which is why I had to try it for myself. To start, the sauce for the fries is amazing especially the Garlic Aioli, my favorite! The burgers were absolutely delicious, cooked to my preference and so much flavor. The atmosphere was wondering and everyone who worked there was very helpful in getting whatever we needed. Great spot and family friendly! We took our toddler and preschool aged sons and they did wonderfully between the fries and tvs!

Ok. A little pricy for a burger. I got the lamb option. This may have been the best burger Ive had in a long time. Cooked perfectly and seasoned to perfection. The fries are cut fresh on site and the dipping sauces are off the chain. You have to go here if you are in the area.

Had a decent meal here Thursday night. It seemed crowded but not packed when we arrived however after waiting a little while I started to notice several empty tables. Still a number of parties waited a while to be seated. It is nice that they utilize a system that texts you when your table is ready. People can walk around SP if they wish while waiting. Once seated out server did quickly get our drink order. I wasn’t feeling too adventurous so I went with a basic burger and added Egmont cheese. I did partake in my friends fries smothered in blue cheese and bacon. How can you not right? They were by far more tasty than my burger. Next time I’ll be more adventurous and try the Asian Thai Chick burger. I learned my lesson. Not a place to go when you want a basic burger. At Burger Bach you gotta go all out!

I haven’t been to Burger Bach in about a year, if not longer. I was meeting up with a friend I haven’t seen in forever and this seemed like a good spot. This is their second location in RVA and their newest one; I think it’s a good addition to the area. This place was fairly busy when we arrived a little before 6PM but we were able to snag a table for two with no wait. This location is a lot bigger, about twice the size of their CT location. The first thing I noticed is how extensive their menu is now; or maybe their Short Pump location is offering a lot more which includes a variety of loaded fries, nachos, more sides, salad options and even seafood!!! They had raw oysters, shrimp, and mussels. When a place is called Burger Bach, I think they should stick to what they know best which are burgers and don’t’ try to expand the menu to appeal to a larger crowd; just my two cents. We started off with the large fries to share and chose the chipotle BBQ and buffalo ranch sauce. I remember the fries being delicious here, but I actually prefer the basic fries from Mcdonalds over the batch that we got. It was flavorless and didn’t have any crunch to it and the sauces were just okay. I could probably make a better batch at home to be honest. I got the queenstown burger with a little pink and it was cooked perfectly but sadly that was the only good thing about my burger. There didn’t seem to be much seasoning on my patty and the gruyère cheese and sautéed mushrooms tasted bland as well. The service was average but I do like the ambiance of being in the«heart» Short Pump and the crowd was bustling but not overly rowdy. Maybe I had their food on a bad night, but I hope they fix a few of their issues before I give them another shot again.

I’ll be dry honest I do not eat burgers, so probably not the best choice for me. Ambience is good to hang with a friend and watch a game. However not a lot of other options and NO dessert :/.

I don’t often eat burgers out because I can make a killer burger at home. I didn’t feel like cooking and the family was itching to try something different, but with fast service, so Burger Bach it is. First… major kudos for the beer selection. There is something for everyone. For my entrée I had the lamb burger, which was juicy and very tasty. We also got fries with a few of the sauces. If I remember correctly one was a cilantro sauce and one was made with jalapeños. Nice crispy fries. I also appreciate the burger came with a side salad. The food is so rich that the slightly acidic salad helps cut through the fat and lightens up the meal. Like I said, I rarely eat burgers out, but these are up there. When I have a craving and don’t want to cook, Burger Bach will be on my short list.

This place has amazing burgers and fries. We’ve been here twice so far and have yet to be disappointed. They very well may make the best burgers I’ve ever tasted. We ordered the large fry with the Tzatziki Sauce and Roasted Jalapeño Remoulade. The fries were excellent although we didn’t like the sauces much. That’s not saying the sauces were bad, just wasn’t our taste. The burgers were excellent. My wife ordered the Haka Chili Cheese Burger and I ordered the Hangover Cure. Both were VERY good. If you see a Burger Bach and really love hamburgers, do NOT pass this place up.

Solid burger joint with a great beer selection. This is definitely a higher-end burger option, so don’t expect a McDonalds price tag, but the options are a heck of a lot wider and tastier than McD’s too. We ate at the bar, which isn’t always representative of the service at a place, but the bartender was friendly enough and managed the 6 – 8 of us eating at the bar well enough. They have a very impressive draft selection, and I like that they offer tastes if you’re not sure whether you want a full glass of something. They also offer flights, but they were a bit steep for us at $ 10 for ¾ of a pint(four 3oz pours), so we just ordered pints. I would have liked the bartender to have a bit more info on some of the beers, but the ones on the beer menu were well described there so it’s not like I was going in blind. As far as the food; my North Lamb Burger was super juicy, and the bun was pretty much up to the task of containing it, which is always appreciated. The tzitziki sauce was just flavorful enough to be there without overwhelming the lamb, and the same could be said of the chopped onions. I also appreciated that each burger comes with a side of greens, which helps cut the richness of the burger, it does mean that you have to order fries separately though, which is a bit unusual for a burger place. Overall a decent meal, and I’d come back to try more when I’m back in the area.

3.75 stars actually. Very unique menu of burgers. Not your normal Five Guys variety. Hence it will cost a tad more, but it’s a different dining experience. Good appetizers, too. A place that you’d return to. Lots to sample.

This place was sooo delicious! I went there with my boyfriend. The veggie burger was good. But those fries… holy moly! Yumm, yummy! And there are a variety of sauces to go along with those awesome fries. The drink menu was also very good. I highly recommend checking it out.

The atmosphere is awesome! Very clean and the hostess/host was very quick to seat my father and I. I decided to go for the West Coast Burger which was just absolutely dank. Chipotle BBQ sauce, incurred bacon, NZ cheddar, caramelized onions, and roasted jalapeño remoulade. Paired it nicely with VA’s own Devils Backbone Vienna Lager Our waitress was spectacular. A must place to go when you are out and about in Shortpump

AMAZING! Sustainable, organic food? YES! Delicious food? YES! Amazing service? YES! YES! YES! The location is nice(but we all know parking in Short Pump is atrocious) and the staff were super friendly and very knowledgeable about the menu. The service was great. And the food was out of this world! We ordered a fry appetizer with buffalo ranch sauce. We loved all the sauce choices. We had the West Coast burger and the Aucklander. The burgers were quite large and came with a house salad which was perfectly dressed and nicely portioned. We really should have skipped the fries. I can’t wait to go back and try EVERYTHING. I’m in love! IMHO, go ASAP. Now. Go. Right. Now! :D
