Place is below average. If you’re more of a quantity over quality type person this place is for you! I got the regular and there was so much meat and veggies. Meat quality was not the best… When I saw that they had shirataki noodles I was super excited! Only shabu place I know that has it is Tabu. Well when they brought it out it was just vermicelli… Maybe they heard me wrong? Not sure. Defiantly will be a language barrier if you don’t speak Vietnamese. Even I couldn’t understand their English. Thank god I could speak Viet or this would’ve been difficult. Had to repeat myself a few times. But besides that they’re nice people. The only thing I liked was the green sauce that came with the yakatori! Can I have the recipe please!!!

Decided to stop by for lunch on a weekday. The restaurant was empty which was fine for lunch considering how time consuming it is to eat shabu. The meat was average compared to other shabu joints. I ordered the choice rib eye. Ponzu and peanut sauce were average. Hot drops weren’t hot. It seemed like it was watered down or a really crappy concentrate. Pricing: $ 20 for lunch per a person for regular size. Most places charge around 15 – 16 for lunch for better quality meat and real hot drops.

Was looking for a new Shabu place around my place. I came to check this place out and I was very happy with my experience. I liked the«grill» selections. And the Shabu were great. The price was also cheap. They had this hot sauce that will burn your tongue and since I myself love spicy food that was a plus. All of the employees were so gentle and nice. They also kept checking up on me. This is my new go-to Shabu place from now on.

I’ve had my fair share of shabu and I find this place okay My girlfriend treated me out on a cold night. We came in on a weekday and there were a few parties inside. Once seated, I went with their igrill flavored broth with a regular size of their salmon. Their igrill broth is $ 1 extra and literally tasted like they put in some tom yum flavoring. They do not have miso flavor here like other shabu places, which was fine with me. The food was also served differently than other places. All the veggies and noodles came in a bowl. This made it convenient to eat the noodles later because you didn’t need anyone to bring another bowl out. You get the option or white or brown rice. The salmon tasted okay. Wasn’t the best quality but it did it. My girlfriend went with their ribeye, which she said was good. We both had ours with hot drops but it did not taste that hot. The two sauces were good comparatively to other places. We both did leave satisfied. It’s a little under $ 20 for dinner for a regular size. I like that they had a larger variety of food here compared to other shabu joints. Their menu consisted of other grilled goods, such as skewered scallops, shrimps, and other meats. They even had vietnamese goi(salads) and bar type foods. Boba is also on their menu. The service was excellent. They were very accommodating, nice, and quick with our requests. They also constantly checked up on us. The inside is fairly large and clean. The grills they use are pretty good Japanese grills. I liked that the option to change the settings are directly in front of you so you have more control. Overall, its a great alternative for shabu.

Came here after a long day at Disneyland and super excited for some Shabu! Was a bit disappointed. We were greeted by an extremely confused employee who didn’t seem to understand much English and she had trouble communicating with us even when I pointed straight at what I wanted on the menu in hopes to make her life easier. Ponzu sauce was a bit watery, as another reviewer mentioned. I opted for the two item combo with pork and prime ribeye angus for about $ 18? The portions were perfect, seeing as I was starving. I also selected their special house broth which I didn’t think was all that special and would’ve just preferred the traditional shabu broth. However they do provide hot drops, which kinda saved the broth in my opinion, although I do have really high standards for shabu. The vegetable bowl was a bit of an oddball. Presentation was really off — such a large bowl yet so few vegetables? And the udon comes in a tiny 2×2 block that you can tell they just sliced off from a larger block. Kinda don’t like that. I do however like the stoves that are extremely flat and practically built into the table(I’m not sure). Probably won’t be back again but it was good for something close by to where I was.

3.5 stars. For a new shabu place, this place is really good. I ordered the regular chuck roll with their igrilled soup! Everything came out nicely presented and I liked how they gave me a lot of meat compared to most shabu places! For a regular size, it is a great amount. The soup has a vietnamese twist to it and I did enjoy it. The peanut and ponzu sauce was no problem to me. Wasn’t great, but wasn’t bad either. One thing I hope they improve on is the veggie bowl. Perhaps add a few more stalks of cabbage/bok choy? Same goes for the rice. This could be a good shabu place if you don’t want to drive far and just want your shabu fix. But if you’re expecting to get the same satisfaction from places like Yuzu, Mokkoji, etc, than this isn’t the place for you.

I am so glad to have Igrilled Shabu so close to my house, especially in this cold weather. This is no doubt my favorite Shabu spot! Now, don’t get me wrong, this is not the best shabu shabu restaurant ever but my favorite because: 1) LOCATION!!! I can literally walk to this restaurant from my house(though I most definitely won’t) 2) The place just opened 2 months ago so it’s new and clean and no long line! 3) They offered more than just shabu shabu, love the Asian seafood bar food(snails, clams, etc…) and the skewer grilled 4) Overall, very reasonable pricing, especially the $ 9.99/pitcher of beer(Kirin, Sapporo, Asahi). Though I wish they would listen to my recommendation of having happy hour menu in the future. I’ll be there literally 4 days/week! 5) The shabu Igrilled broth is so good! It’s not exactly 100% Japanese shabu broth, more like mixture of Thai Tom Yum, Vietnamese soup and Japanese shabu. Surprisingly that is a very good combination! 6) The little attention to detail such as awesome friendly service, unlimited supply of fresh garlic, radish and green onion, pre-frozen beer glass, drops of deadly spicy liquid for $ 1(trust me, you want at least 2 drops) Overall, I love this place and will definitely be back here a lot more in the future!

So happy a shabu place opened near me! Came in for lunch and I was not disappointed. Chuck roll beef($ 14) — meat was so tender and fresh! Not to mention that it’s a LOTOFMEAT for a regular size! I got the all natural broth which is pretty flavorful. Great portion of veggies and sauces were really good. You have to ask for hot drops though! Definitely will be coming back and probably making this place my regular go-to shabu spot.

A very generous 4 stars. I’ll give this place a break since they are new. Definitely a lot of pros and cons. Located next to roasting water. Pros — ordered a regular and they give you tons of meat! About 20 – 30 pieces. I can’t imagine a large. I would recommend sharing even, another pro, you can share shabu without an extra charge. The broth is pretty good, the igrilled broth and the original seasoned broth were both flavorful. They have yakitori and appetizers If you opt not to have shabu. Cons — kind of small about 5 tables with shabu stoves and about 8 – 10 seats at the bar, and 4 tables without shabu stoves. Kind of small, they would have a hard time accommodating a large shabu crowd. Servers definitely need work. They had a hard time explaining the menu, and kind of five off the impression that people should already know how to order shabu. Their English is lacking, but not too bad. They are new so I’ll give them a break. Nothing jumps out. The bowl with the veggies just seen so plain and average. Ordered choice beef and prime, couldn’t really taste the difference, I would just go choice to save extra $$. Lastly I knocked off a star because they forgot to put noodles in my veggie bowl. Overall worth a try if you’re in the area. If you’re not that hungry I recommend sharing. Love that they are not stingy on the meat!

iGrilled Shabu is located next to roasting water and kyotori, inside the plaza with the theater. I can only assume the name was derived from their love of apple products. Iphone, ipad, imac, igrilled. Why not. All jokes aside, name could be due to the fact that they have a select few yakitori items. With that said, I have never been to a shabu place that has given me as much meat as iGrilled. I ordered the regular which the girl said would come with about 11 pieces of meat. I lost count after 10. Boyfriend and friend ordered large, and couldn’t even finish it. Considering the amount of meat they give you, the amount of veggies/noodles and size of the hot pot bowl is tiny LOL. Service was okay. They said it got pretty packed during the weekends, but when we went there were only 2 other parties, and 2 parties after us all in a 1.5−2hour duration. Nothing really stood out about the shabu aside from the quantity. Would be willing to give it another try, but doubt I would go out of my way. You can totally grab a drink at roasting water afterwards so that’s nice hee hee.

Been here several times now and there’s a reason I’m a returning customer. First of which is definitely the $ 10 pitcher and well priced sake! Most shabu restaurants in the area serve their drinks at a much higher rate and I gotta drink when having me some shabu. Secondly, the portions are pretty damn attractive. I’m a big eater and usually order a large when I get my shabu on but here, I can grab myself a regular portion and still be full. Igrill has a special broth that tastes similar to tom yom soup at the cost of a dollar more but I think it’s well worth it if you are going to be drinking it up at the end. Last reason that has me coming back is because its one of the very few shabu joints in the Westminster/Garden Grove area which I frequent a lot. I also should warn you that they don’t dilute their hot drops here so its extra spicy! Thank goodness we listened to the owner otherwise we be dying haha. Being that this restaurant is new, they staff can be a bit slow at times but it should only get better. Hope we run into Laura again! She knows wassup but haven’t seen her our past couple visits :(

Can’t speak for the shabu portion, but the yakitori was mediocre. The green dipping sauce complimented it a lot though. The one server that helped us was friendly and nice, but didn’t know much about the menu.

3.5 Stars — Have you ever been in the predicament where you’ve craved Yakitori or Shabu Shabu between the hours of 2pm — 5pm and every Japanese establishment is annoyingly closed? Well, you won’t have that problem at iGrilled because they’re owned by Vietnamese, who don’t observe afternoon shutdowns. Granted, their Yakitori is subpar, but I liked how they’ve wonderfully combined it as additional sides with flavor-brothed Shabu Shabu. Here’s what we ordered between our family of five for lunch. * Natural Broth, Large Mixed Seafood, Brown Rice(so much seafood, loved that the shrimp were so large) * iGrilled Special Broth, Prime Ribeye, White Rice(my husband prefers flavored broths as opposed to plain water) * Multiple Skewers & Such(Okra, Bacon Wrapped Quail Eggs, Meatballs, Chicken Wing, Jumbo Shrimp, Mini Sausage, Fatty Pork, Ch Heart, Ch Gizzard, Beef Wrapped Baby Corn, Beef Wrapped Asparagus and Scallops) The owners were incredibly attentive with two other waitresses who seemed to be in training. There wasn’t anyone when we first arrived but a few parties soon came after us. I’d say this resto wouldn’t be my first choice but I’d definitely come back again, predicaments withstanding.

good food but be prepared for the service. Tried 2⁄3 broth options. — natural: a light salty based but not overly salted. Good flavor. — igrilled: Tom yum/beefy. Flavorful and on point. Sauces: both are amazing. Very peanuty and very ponzu like. There’s an off menu sauce called the green sauce, there’s a nice refreshing spicy kick to it. Give it a try. It originally comes with a with the yakitori dishes but they offered it for part of our shabu. Meat: great quality with a great marble. Wasn’t too thin and wasn’t thick. 12 slices for a regular and it was the perfect size individually. Yakitori: so cheap! It comes with 2⁄3 items with one skewer for $ 1. It’s great. We tried the okra, sausage, meatballs, and quail eggs. Everything was cooked nicely yakitori style but THEMEATBALLS: to die for. Try them. Such great flavors in those two guys. I would’ve been satisfied with eating those meatballs all day long. One star deducted because the waitress was bad… like bad! The older gentleman and lady was useful and very nice. But the young one was bad. We had to repeat our orders multiple times and they were wrong the first couple times. And apparently she was struggling with our beer orders. No large, but she didn’t want to inform us they had it on tap until the gentleman came out. And she was about to get my 16 year old brother a cup for our beers as well! Be patient with her because the good is food…

Spent the afternoon shopping in Costa Mesa, decided to have shabu shabu for dinner. Boyfriend and I were debating whether we shall stick to shabu shabu bar or give this place a shot. After the battle of rock, scissor, paper, he had no choice but to make the call. So we ended up here. There’s only 3 broths to choose from: 1. Water 2. Chicken broth 3. TomYum-like(a little spicy) Boyfriend got the ribeye, I got the lamb. We both agreed the lamb was actually better. The ribeye wasn’t really tender. Veggies are good, yet the portion is a bit on the small side. The environment definitely feels different than any other shabu shabu restaurants. Kind of feels like I’m in a phở restaurant to be exact.

I had a great experience after almost walking out. This was my first exposure to Shabu-shabu after some bad fondue experiences; They are not the same. I ordered chicken and brisket skewers which were great, but were overkill. There was plenty of food in the basic Shabu order. There are so tips and tricks to the process so read a little before your first time. While I am not a big fan of cooking my own meal, the iGrilled special broth was tasty and got better through the meal. Also the DIY aspect makes to meal an event in itself. On the negative side: We had to split our party of six to two adjacent tables and it is a little pricey for lunch, also the mix of nice furnishings and cheesy add-ons diminished the overall feel.

I must try all the shabu places around this area. came here around 4:30pm. it was empty. the place seems clean and is spacious so that’s good — premium ribeye — usda choice(angus) $ 16 — the meat quality was tender. my favorite thing I ate here. — igrilled special broth — an extra $ 1. it’s basically the soup you get when you eat lau. it reminds me of a Vietnamese broth mixed with tom yum. not expecting this for shabu the peanut and ponzu sauce was okay. not bad. they also have yakitori which I didn’t try because I knew I’d be full after shabu, which I was. overall this place is okay. it kind of got me confused because dipping meat in this broth doesn’t seem like shabu to me, it’s more like eating hot pot.

Definitely a smart place to open up a Shabu restaurant next to a movie theater; I wish I thought of that first! Haha. Stopped by here after a long 4 hour drive home from Vegas, and I was craving for something warm. And it’s a plus too because my fiancé LOVES his yakitori. We had two large orders of the Angus Rib-Eye, which is A LOT for a large portion. Took about 2 hours to eat along with everything else, so you’re definitely getting your money’s worth. I also like how the meat actually comes out NOTFROZEN, because so many Shabu places these days are giving frozen meat :(The meat was marbled very well and had lots of fat– my favorite, but there goes my cholesterol levels. I suggest paying the extra $ 1 for their special broth; It’s a perfectly seasoned broth– not spicy, but not bland either. Yakitori was(i)grilled very well! I absolutely love their jumbo shrimp that I ordered 2 sticks, haha. FOOD: +4STARS SERVICE: +1STAR Service was friendly and the guy working there really explained to us everything on the menu. He also was very helpful and attentive, even with bigger groups than us. I will definitely return here, at least 50 more times.

the boyfriend and I were looking to try a new shabu spot. I Unilocaled it and was surprised that one had just happened across the street from our apartment a couple weeks ago. first thing I noticed was the table placements. there isn’t enough grills. I do like that I’m able to lower the heat on my pot but it is also an accident waiting to happen, especially for children. they can touch the grill and burn themselves very easily. the waitstaff is very nice and friendly but they are far too busy worrying about who’s coming in rather than catering to the guests that are already dining. we were waiting for our water to be refilled. our waitress only refilled my water and left my boyfriends water empty until he flagged her down. the veggie and rice portions are tiny. the veggie choices are iffy. the butternut squash and shiitake mushrooms definitely do not taste good for the broth we got. we got the IGRILL special broth, which is a lighter version of tom yum soup. I did enjoy the broth and the sauces but you could see the staff pouring the sauces from bottles right in front of us. I would opt for them to do that in the kitchen, where we can at least pretend they made the sauces in house and not just pouring it from a bottle that we can get ourselves at the asian store. BUT the meat plate was heaping. the meat and veggie ratio should be reworked. I did not have enough rice or veggies to eat it with the meat. I had wayyyy too much meat leftover at the end of my meal. we were also not given a separate bowl for the udon, which is literally cut as a 1×1 square. there was a bowl that the veggies came in and I was not sure if that would be the udon bowl or not. I found out it’s just a decorative bowl for the veggies and not to be used for the udon. when I asked for another bowl, the staff said they don’t carry a bigger bowl than the rice bowl that I already had for the udon. another waitress overhead the exchange and came out with a bigger bowl.(I’m assuming she was the owner) I would recommend to put the veggies on a plate instead of the decorative bowl, a separate bigger bowl for the udon& better veggie choices. overall, I would come back to see the changes. I realize they’re a new business and it’s a work in progress. they definitely have the potential to be something great. good job guys thus far. the business seems to be steady from what I could see from my experience there.
