Whataburger

Bathrooms were clean, Gilbert is the best manager and it was fun bringing my folks here for their first Whataburger experience! Everyone was really friendly, went out of their way to be so and say hi. I’m so glad we chose this location for my Oregon parents to have the Whataburger experience!

This was my first Whataburger experience ever. Fairly typical fast food joint. Very friendly staff. The double with cheese was tasty but be forewarned, the burger is mustard-​dominant. That worked nicely for me almost gave the burger a deli-​type taste (amazing what one condiment can do). My wife hates mustard so was rather unpleasantly surprised. If she goes back, she’ll surely go order it without.
As the burger patties are thin I’d advise against just a single Whataburger. And the Whatachicken sandwich by default comes on a whole wheat bun. I preferred the white bun over the wheat.
The chicken sandwich is pretty much like most others and is worth ordering. For dessert we tried the cinnamon roll — a delicious sweet treat. Not as sweet and rich as Cinnabon but good nevertheless.

The worst Whataburger I’ve ever been to. I am a local and have gone to this location always giving it a chance in hopes of improvement, last nights order was the worst I’ve ever eaten. Hamburger patty was raw and it looked and tasted as if the rest was thrown together. Buns were soggy. I love Whataburger and will drive to the location on 61^st.

Order was wrong 3 times! They over charged us and in the end my burger was still without cheese and the other had pickles. I love whataburger, but it’s just this location that seem like they really didn’t care and that their mistakes were our fault.

This place is really hit or miss. I only go through the drive thru and sometimes the service is great. The employees are friendly and the food comes out quickly. Other times I seem to sit there forever and the person working the window seems really unhappy with life. I wouldnt take a chance on this place if you’re in a hurry. But as always, whataburger has the best fast food burgers around

I’ve gone to this what a burger a couple of times, giving it the benefit of the doubt, but honestly, every single time I’ve bought from here, I’ve gotten sick afterwards, they have an older lady in the night crew who seems to have bad attitude, I got my food and ate it, about an hour and a half later I started getting sick, it creeped up on me and I’ve been feeling sick since then, their food is okay but served it not as hot as one would expect, I’m not going back to this place as this stomachache I’ve got hass been going since last night.
Be careful people, might want to consider going somewhere else or you might end up with a sick stomach as well.

First time to try out this Whataburger. I was not pleased with what I saw. The drive through employee had overtly long fake nails which poses a sanitation hazard for bacterial growth.
Additionally, the fries were not fresh but rather soggy, brownish colored and lukewarm. It almost appeared as if they re-​fried them as to not waste food.
It is frustrating to pay near $ 8 for a meal and not get the best and freshest of quality as Whataburger promises.

I love goin to whataburger, their portions in food are GRANDE. Always Fresh, and good. Service is always helpful and energetic. # TeamWhataburgerAlways#

24 Hour Whataburger thats close to the strand. Pretty typical whataburger.

I love Whataburger food, it’s just better tasting to me than bigger chains. The food here is really good for fast food. What isn’t so hot is the service, as other people have noted. They really should get a new manager in there who would fire a few of the staff and replace them with faster people. The window seems fast enough, but the dining room is super slow. And yes, the restrooms need to be cleaned more. Best bet is to stay in your car and go through the drive-​thru.

I am so glad to see this location has been reviewed. It just proved that I’m not completely crazy in having disdain for this particular Whataburger.
The thing I don’t understand is, why is it so hard to follow directions? All I want is a hamburger. Not a cheeseburger. Not a bacon cheeseburger. And not whatever special combo burger you’re hawking this month. JUST A HAMBURGER! No matter how many ways I phrase it, this Whataburger never seems to get it right. I mean, even when ordering the combo that doesn’t COME with cheese, they still manage to add it on — the average joe would be pleased to be getting an infusion of cheese for free, but I am not amused. Is it against the law in Texas to not have cheese on your hamburger??? You wouldn’t believe the number of places I have problems…
Anyway, no matter what time of day I go here, lunch, early dinner, overnight, they always get something wrong. Overnight, when I usually get a hankering for beef, the food never seems to be hot. Oh wait, I lied — the only thing hot in the bag is the evil cheese that has melted all over my sandwich. And it takes forever, even when there’s no line! Its extremely frustrating — I have to save up patience for months before I can attempt to come back here and order because I know every time I going to be annoyed when I leave.
So I recommend that you visit this place only if you a) are close to UTMB and have no other choice b) don’t care if your sandwich has cheese c) have plenty of time and patience d) all of the above.

I hate this particular store. Don’t get me wrong, I still love Whataburger and no matter how hard this store tries my patience, I will not old it against the chain itself.
Reasons I hate this store:
1) The service is always rude
2) The food always takes an obscenely long time to get to you
3) Their soda tends to be flat
4) Their parking lot is tiny
5) Their bathrooms are disgusting
So why do I keep coming back? Location, location, location. It is just so conveniently located near the hospital that I trick myself into thinking that a quick pit stop won’t slow me down. And yet, I’m inevitably held back longer than anticipated and I end up late to my next destination. I cannot count how many times I’ve been late to class or work because I just wanted a quick snack.
After today’s 12 minute wait (yep, I timed it) for a chicken biscuit, I think I’m done giving them second chances.
