We just had a work retreat here and I have to say that I’m pretty impressed with the building itself. The outside is a bit run down and I was skeptical about the location since it isn’t sitting in the best street of houses, but they really spruced it up very well. Even though I haven’t been to a service here yet, I’m Unilocaling it as a possibility for any of your off campus meetings that you may want to plan. The main room(which is still quite new and designed by one of the members) is spacious and modern. It could probably hold around 80 people comfortably and they have plenty of tables if you need. They also have a slew of books that you can purchase(50 cents for paperback and $ 1 for hardbacks) and they range in topics. Since this is not your typical church, don’t be surprised to find controversial books lying around. The parking will always be a hassle, but I found some about half a block away, right next to the fire station. If I lived in Galveston, I’d definitely want to come one Sunday and check out their services. Since this is a fellowship, they rotate speakers and don’t have an official minister – I’m sure that keeps it plenty interesting, especially since a good portion of the congregation are athiests!
