Me and my family have been going to the Victorian hotel since before my 18year old son was born. It was the BEST hotel with the largest rooms on Seawall Blvd at that time. They had FREE full breakfast and an ice cream parlor on site. I have noticed how much this hotel has been slowly going down from a 10 to a 2. Housekeeping will only clean your room AFTER your 3rd day of staying. Plus you have to take your own towels to housekeeping and exchange them if you need clean ones. Also if you need tissue or trash bags, you also must go to the office to get them.(UNHEARDOF). When I was last there in March of 2016, my grandson dropped a jar of pickles that we brought with us and it broke on the floor, I called the front desk to see if I could use a broom, since glass was everywhere. The guy at the front desk assured me that housekeeping would be to my room to clean up the spill. They NEVER came nor called at all. This place is soo different and trashy now compared to years ago. I even mentioned to the lady that checked me in about how things had changed there and her response was«Well, everything in life changes and nothing stays the same».(My reply to her was, I DO know that’s a true statement, but I feel that in a business, the change should be for the better. I am soo disappointed in what USEDTOBE one of my favorite hotels in Galveston, Tx. I have no plans to spend another vacation here again

There is not much to say about this place, other than it is a DUMP! I wish I could give it no stars! I wouldn’t let my dogs stay at this place.

Everyone from my wife’s side of the family all drove down to Galveston to have a good weekend together and had rooms reserved at the Victorian. We were excited at first because we arrived early and hung out at one of the pools for a few hours until our rooms were ready. So far so good with the outside and the pools, one of which is kid friendly. After getting our room keys, we made our way to our designated rooms. We stayed on the third, top, floor in our building and after taking the elevator twice, most of us elected to just take the stairs bc there is absolutely no ventilation in the elevators and you seriously feel like you are being suffocated. The stairs were outside and the ocean breeze made them feel much better. Anyway, once inside the rooms, they have all of the necessities such as bedroom, bathroom, small kitchen with sink, microwave, refrigerator with freezer, and a stove. The problem with these things are that they are extremely dated and look like they came from the year 1985. The refrigerator and stovetop had lots of visible rust and it just made the whole room feel neglected in a sense. While sitting in the room for a bit we noticed what looked like little bugs running around and sure enough, ANTS were all over the kitchen and livingroom areas. Anything we sat on the counter was soon crawling with ANTS on the outside of the packages, therefore anything open had to be stored inside the refrigerator, be it cookies, potato chips, or whatever. The refrigerator was packed with EVERYTHING! We will immediately be talking with management about this tomorrow as it is just unacceptable and we have never stayed in a hotel that we paid good money for only for it to be a nightmare in terms of quality and cleanliness.
