This place really is a hole in the wall that is very easy to miss or mistake for a small grocery store… which is actually is as well! But make no mistake, this is some authentic Mexican(and possibly Ecuadoran) cuisine. To start we ordered the chili con queso thinking it was chili. It wasn’t. It’s a moderately spicy cheese dip for tortilla chips similar to what you’d get at a ball game, but the real version. Very good, and now we know what it is! Next was the pork and chicken enchiladas which were probably the best we’ve ever had anywhere. Particularly the pork. They were just bursting with flavor. Almost like the pork had been cooked on a well seasoned cast iron pan — which it may have been. The flavor was just unbelievable. We’ll be ordering this again. The beef fajitas were bits of beef served up with rice, beans, and lettuce along with some tortilla shells. Not the sizzling plate that some might come to expect with fajitas now. Very good, but pales in comparison to the pork enchilada. Finally was the seafood soup(a Friday special) which was absolutely loaded with shrimp, crab(imitation), fish, and oysters all in a tomato broth served with rice. Tangy and also very good. The service wasn’t the greatest. We picked up our own menus and were served out food before being given cutlery. Not the end of the world and they were certainly polite enough, just a step or two behind at times. Not a reason not to go, just pointing it out. This place is very highly recommended for good and real Mexican food.

This place as the atmosphere of a small taco shop. It is quaint and cosy and maybe just a little noisy. A great hole in the wall that has the best Mexican food on the island. The food is delicious and the service is fast and friendly.

Very good authentic Mexican food! Like the other reviewers said you wouldn’t’ notice this place unless a local pointed it out. I have tried the breakfast & lunch/dinner menu. I have tried the basic breakfast plate with choice of eggs, refried beans & potatoes(french fries) & choice of tortillas(flour or corn-both homemade), it was very good. The caldo de res is good, comes also with choice of tortillas and I have also had the beef fajita plate very good also. Market in the back has varieties of Mexican products. Good chips & salsa too.

Very quick service. I had two tacos(pastor) corn tort. with rice and beans for 4.99. Was hot, fresh and in front of me within 2 mins. Great flavor and texture of pork was just right. I recommend this for anybody who likes street tacos. No tables only a counter with limited seating. Pretty busy but they do speak English in there which is good because I was the only gringo eating there haha Tip: they do take credit cards.

Holy Horchata. The huevos con chorizo tacos are killer and best washed down with a large glass of iced horchata. Came to Galveston from Houston and decided to try this place on a whim. So so glad I did.
