Golden Corral

Not the best Golden Corral I have been to. For as many people that were there, food wasn’t fresh. Tasted like it was sitting out for a long time.

ive been here a few times, and this is my favorite GC! the food is good and fresh, the salad is killer and the wait staff… very nice! the hot wings were on point and the firecracker shrimp were plump, juicy and kickin.

Went in for lunch,(11ish)must have gotten there at the right time, crowd soon followed. great price for lunch. Many, many selections. you’ll get full just looking.

Service was alright but the food was just horrid.
I left after 15 minutes because it was that upsetting

My family went to Golden Corral after a long day of family fun in Galveston, Texas. We were showed our table by one waiter, he cleaned the table and told us enjoy. Then another waiter by the name of Stephen came to the table shortly after. Stating you can’t sit there the table is dirty, I explained to him the table was cleaned by another waiter.
He left and then came back and stated. Do you mind moving to another table I can’t wait on the other tables because you are sitting there. I told him yes I do mine. And I sat at the table I was brought to and waited for my kids and husband to return. Once he saw my husband he had a total different attitude, but at this point I was extremely obscure with his comments. My husband and I did speak to the manager and we will not receive return!
The waiter even admitted to the manager that he told me to move because he could so his job by my family sitting at the table we were brought to. Never go here!

The best service ever!!! The cashier Ida was very professional, wonderful, and she always has a smile on her face. I also love the variety of foods they have at this location and our waitress, Diaria was so sweet, helpful, cheerful, and attentive. I would most diffidently recommended this place to everyone!

Great customer service! Never without a drink refill or left with dirty plates on the table. They have pulled chicken in gravy that is absolutely amazing. So flavorful! Mashed potatoes on point! Creamy and delicious, most importantly… real…can’t stand those fake ass potatoes! I love the fact that they have this new to go option. Got over two pounds of food for the same price as the buffet. So much food it lasted me three days. Even after my 15 minute drive back to the office it was still piping hot… so much so that I had to let some cool off before I could enjoy. The pot roast juice is so flavorful! Absolutely delicious. The only fail with all their locations is the taco meat… just bad… they either need to get a new recipe or remove it from their buffets all together.

I went on a 4 day vacation to Galveston and we ate here every night and honestly… I didn’t get tired of it!!! After running around on the beach half the day and running around Pleasure Pier the other half, the food was a real treat! The food was fresh and delicious, our waitresses were super friendly and deserved their tips and the place was clean!

Unbelievable! I work at a high school in Houston and we called and asked for a group price and the assistant manager agreed since we were bringing a large group. When we arrived the general manager said he would not honor the agreement. H then got pretty abrasive without coercion, stating «I’m the general a manger and my dad owns this Resturaunt!» Completely out of the blue as if he was expecting someone to cause trouble or question his authority. Conversation, reasonable conversation from him went downhill from there. I hate that this incident occurred but in the absence of ALL of reasonable causes, I have to conclude it must be the fact that we were all black and brown. Nothing else could explain the obstinacy and blatant rudeness the «general manager» exhibited throughout the whole exchange.
Down right shameful. Don’t eat here. They don’t welcome all people equally.

There are really no words to express to you on the pitiful food here. They really need to close the doors and revamp and clean and hire all new staff in the kitchen. If you hate to cook don’t work in food industry. It was the most horrific food experience I have ever had. I paid for all the food and all 4 us walked back to the table and asked each other to leave. We couldn’t get out fast enough. Told cashier how bad food looked and she said this is why I don’t eat here shoooot… yes her words

You get what you pay for. The food reminded me of high school cafeteria food. It’s not great, it’s not disgusting. It doesn’t have to be nasty, there are ways to eat clean in here. Just avoid all the deep fried and cheese covered options.
Salad bar is so-​so. Great for young kids because it’s obviously just super casual and very family friendy. The cashier didn’t seem to want to be there, she didn’t seem very happy. The servers/​table attendees however were all great. They were all super nice, very polite and kept our drinks filled.

Icky, icky food. We went because we wanted a salad bar, and because we had never tried a GC. All of the food was terrible, but all of the staff was sweet and attentive.

Good for what it is. Upscale cafeteria food. Lots of selections. Something for everyone. Great for kids too. Salad bar, veggie wagon, Asian stir fry to order, Mexican station, carving station complete with grilled steaks and a really good selection of all types of desserts. Cake, pies, cookies, puddings, custard, ice cream, a chocolate fountain, etc. They even have a cotton candy machine! Whaaaatt?! Very cool.

There is only 1 word for this place — GROSS!
Dirty — bad food — poor service!
Honestly a horror show!

This is not good food. We have all been wanting to try golden coral and were excited it was close to the hotel. The only great thing about this place is they serve a variety of different foods… the lady clearing the table was nice but I’d rather spend the same amount of money at bubba gumps and we ate more food… this place is a waste of money, not worth the price!

If you’re trying to compare Golden Corral to a high end steak house, it’s not worthy of a five-​star rating. But as all you can eat buffets go, definitely worthy. The food is consistent, selection is vast with everything from steak and shrimp to pizza to massive salad and desert bars, and everything in between. In addition to the usual soft serve ice cream, there is also a selection of hand-​dipped available.
The staff is diverse, courteous, and attentive. And the rolls… Don’t forget about the rolls. A little bit of heaven in every bite.

We arrived about ½ hour before closing on a Thursday night expecting things to be quite sparse. It wasn’t. Everything was out and seemed fresh enough too. My family was able to fill themselves with a good selection of things, and before they started to put things away, the waitress asked if we wanted anything else. We didn’t. Stuffed!
I always love having banana with the chocolate fountain so I asked for one– the manager went back the the supply kitchen and brought me one personally. I appreciated that!
Thinking we might just go back for dinner again tonight :)

Golden coral is one of my least favorite places to eat a buffet. I lost a vote on dinner for the night so this is where I found myself on a Saturday night.
I barely saw the waiter although every time he did appear, he told us if we need anything let him know. I don’t know how that’s supposed to happen if we only saw him twice. We ended up putting our empty plates on the next table to make room.
The steak was dry and chewy.
Tha family all agreed we wouldn’t be returning anytime soon

We went here last night for dinner and it was great! Koral was our waitress and she worked her tail off and had a smile the whole time. You could she had a rough day but she made no excuses and gave great service to everyone she came across. A dining experience is really ‘make or break’ with your service and she made our visit! The food was great, and the workers were working constantly to make sure food was out and fresh. I hope we can come back!’

Golden Corral for lunch buffet on Sunday afternoon. 5 people, the bill was nearly $ 80 and I was drinking water! Strike #1.
Since we had a party of 5 (teens and adults), we couldn’t all fit at a four top or in a booth, so we selected a booth with a table right beside it that needed busing. We caught the waiter’s attention and asked if he could clear it so that we could use it. He then proceeds to argue with us about how we cannot move the table. Excuse me. we didn’t ask to move it, we asked you to clean it so we could use it! Strike #2.
Food. No issues. Actually, it was a bit better than the Golden Corrals I’ve been to in the past. Everything was the correct temps, there was tons of selection for the 2 of us who are gluten free, nothing ran short, and everything tasted good.
Our waiter, on the other hand, apparently didn’t know how to bus tables or refill drinks. None of our party got any refills of anything. No plates were bused and were stacking up with my 3 teenagers scarfing down the food. Possibly the waiter was ticked because we asked him to wipe down the nasty table so we could use it. He actually had a table right behind ours that was covered in wet rags, pitchers of ice water and tea, and it looked to me that he was using it as a wait station so that he wouldn’t have to go to where the real station was. Too bad he wasn’t actually using it and it just looked gross sitting there with people eating at tables all around it. Regardless, he wasn’t earning his pay that day. unless you call walking in and out of the dining area without doing anything «work». Strike #3.
If I pay nearly $ 80 for lunch, I expect better service than what I got. which was nothing.
