As much as we were looking forward to trying this place we weren’t given the opportunity to, which based off other reviews is probably a good thing. The menu listed on their website and their online ordering system thru Unilocal is 100% inaccurate, just an FYI. We called to place our order and were placed on hold for 5 minutes. When the guy who answered finally came back he was speaking so fast it was difficult to understand him. My husband told him our order, but he cut him off to tell him they only offer ‘original crust’ and none of the other options they have listed. When my husband asked him to hold on a second to see if that would be okay with me, he hung up on him. Needless to say we didn’t call back.

It is sad the state of decay that this place exhibits to the island’s unsuspecting visitors. It is abundantly apparent to anyone that walks through the door that this place is in serious need of repair. There are ceiling tiles stained brown from leaks, broken dining chairs and tables, and a gaudy interior that is probably older then myself(30+). The kicker however was a woebegone deflated balloon that was tied with ribbon to the staircase rail. It had been left to slowly deflate from a party weeks or maybe months before. This sad balloon hanging in the middle of the lobby spoke a truth to me that if something so obviously easy to spot and dispose of was ignored and overlooked for so long by the staff and management then one can only imagine what horrors are in the kitchen. 2 stars because the staff was friendly and the food was decent. Galveston deserves better. Alternative: Papa’s Pizza — Similar style pizza, better buffet, larger menu selection, updated clean lobby, clean kitchen, also on Seawall Blvd.

Just went today for lunch with my co-worker. The pizza wasn’t anything to brag about. The price for a large pizza was ridiculous especially considering the facility. The facility however, was disgusting. It looked like it had not been cleaned in months. One of their vents was left open with the dirty filter sitting on the kids highchairs. The tables weren’t very clean, the chairs had to be wiped down. There was ice in the lettuce in the salad bar to help keep it «fresh». One small positive was: the gentleman was very courteous and made a specialized pizza for us. We will not be returning.

I was elated to discover a Godfather’s Pizza here on the island. Less than pleased once I walked in to dine, food on buffet had been out awhile and not fresh! The places is small, that is of no issue but they do not take good use of space. The venue is absolutely overflowing and mor not in a good way to all of the 5 senses. Given what I had done to get there, I asked for a slice of pizza-overly sauced, not enough toppings! I hope to return in the near future with better chances.

Went in there today and greeted the guy working. I was asking him about the menu and the phone started ringing. He put me on hold and answered the phone mid conversation. I’m no restaurateur, but I think you’re supposed to put the person on the other end of the telephone on hold, not the person on other end of the counter. I ordered a large cheese pizza. The pizza with just crust and sauce was 13 dollars, to add cheese as a topping it’s 1.75 or so. How ghetto is that? Then they charged me .40 cents for each glass of water, which was sandy and salty. They didnt have tops for the glasses and they had really skinny bendy straws. Again ghetto. There were only two people working at the place so most of the counters and tables weren’t clean from the last customer. We had to move the last customers plates to another table to sit where we wanted. The place looked like it was falling apart. The outside looked like crap, the inside looked worse. It was ocean front so we could see the beach, but there was a large sign taking up part of the window. The pizza was mediocre, nothing to keep me coming, but good enough to eat only to feed my hunger. It looked like it was hand made because the amount of sauce on it which was alot compared to store bought pizza, but Idk. They were out of potatoe wedges in the kitchen so they let me get them from the buffet section which didn’t have many for a family of 5. That was $ 5 dollars. All in all, I guess the best thing about this location is the view. If they just hired one more person, fixed up the place, stopped charging extra money to get cheese on your pizza and stopped charging for a glass of water, I’m sure it would be an ideal location to do business. And of course stop putting your across the counter customers on hold!

Pizza tastes great! No A/C in the middle of summer was the only reason they did not receive 5stars

The guy that runs this business is super friendly. If you get the buffet, he offers to make you any kind of pizza you want. The interior needs work, and it’s in kinda rough shape, but it’s cool like that because it gives an old 1980s pizzeria vibe. Plus it has a 2nd story crows nest with 360views along the sea wall.

Small place, nothing fancy. The owner is extremely friendly and eager to please. He will ask you if you have any special request when you pay. It’s not a huge buffet, but it’s very good. We will come back next time we’re in town.

I’ve been a fan of godfathers pizza for quite some time, back in Austin years ago was my first experience, pizza preference requests are taken by staff, good pizza and traditional salad bar, they jam rock and roll while you dine. Try it.

Resturant is filthy, there’s dead cockroaches laying around, tables are greasy, windows are dirty, food is edible but I wouldn’t take my mom to sunday brunch here. The only person I see«working» here was sitting down texting when we walked in and later on was talking on his phone. He did pay attention to us once we walked in though. Over all I highly reccomend just walking across the street to Jack in the box then eat in this filthy establishment.

We discovered Godfather’s pizza years ago and have been saddened by how many of their locations in Texas have closed over the years so we were extra excited when we saw this small location on Seawall Boulevard in Galveston. This location’s ambience definitely detracts from their delicious pizza so this review is specific for this location only: Good pizza if you can get over lack of facilities(bathroom is actually in the adjoining motel’s lobby and is quite obviously the original bathroom with original features from when it was built in the 1960s. At least it had running water and soap but that’s all I can say! I think the local females know that they can use the toilets when at the beach without argument from anyone). The manager(or maybe even the owner?) was very pleasant when we first walked in, and immediately asked my husband if he had any special pizza requests. About 10 minutes later, my husband filled his paper plate with a huge stack with slices of fresh, hot, deep dish, meat lovers pizza! Even our six-year-old, who doesn’t like«red sauce» on her pizza was asked if she wanted him to make her a bread and cheese only pizza which we politely declined because we had brought her typical Wendy’s chicken nuggets in with us. I’m not quite sure how this place gets around the health department by not having things under heat lamps, but my husband and I did not seem to suffer any ill effects from eating their pizza. And based on the number of people also eating in there, it must be okay even if it appears less than appetizing. The M&Ms dessert pizza was something different and just the right touch of sweetness to finish off a fairly tasty and cheap cheap cheap post beach meal.

Went in for Sunday pizza buffet. Pizza temperature wasn’t hot enough. Pizza looked to have been sitting out for a long time. Very picked over. Restaurant overlooks beach. It’s very old and run down with a strange, shady motel in the back. Paper plates, napkins and silverware.

Yes, this is a VERY small buffet if you compare to Cici’s, but the difference with Godfather’s is that it’s fresh and hot and it actually tastes good. We used to eat at Godfather’s Pizza all the time when I lived in Kansas(which probably contributed to my obesity problem) and it was always my top place for chain pizza. So when we drove by the sign advertising the buffet while in Galveston last weekend we HAD to try it out. During the week the buffet is $ 5.99; Saturdays and Sundays it’s $ 6.99. Not including drinks; I always get water so no big deal to me. They just have cheap paper plates and forks but that may be because they are so new? If not, I’m OK with it. They have a lot of seating and even a little upstairs area that you get to via a spiral staircase. Granted, it’s really stuffy upstairs and it’s just chairs set up at a ledge around the windows and the windows are dirty, but it’s a SPIRAL. STAIRCASE. They had about 4 – 5 different kinds of pizza set out(and they will take special request a la Cici’s) but they had a decent variety, plus they had a supreme pizza on original crust which made hubby happy! They had pepperoni and jalapeño(yummy!), supreme(yucky!), beef on thin crust(yummy!), cheese sticks(yummy!), a taco pizza, and a meat lovers pizza. I think that’s about it. So yeah, it’s not 20 feet of pizza like other places but it’s good, hot, fresh pizza in really nice size slices. I can eat a LOT of pizza y’all and couldn’t manage more than two plates here. They had some potato wedges as well but that didn’t interest me much. The salad bar is small, but everything seemed really fresh; and they had potato salad on it, which struck me as odd. I didn’t have any because why waste stomach space on salad when it’s all you can eat pizza??! The dessert pizza was decent but not much to brag about as it wasn’t warm; maybe that will change in the future but really, I was there for the pizza pie, not the dessert. Oh! The parking… I’m not sure where to park here. The side street had tow signs so we parked across the street on the seawall. The light takes FOREVER to turn to get across though so ya gotta be brave and just cross when you can. Yes, it’s small, but the people are friendly, the food is hot and fresh and yes, now I am a fan once again of Godfather’s. Luckily this place isn’t closer, as my training scheduled doesn’t have me running the many miles it would take to work all the pizza off.

They will put out a fresh pizza if you request it, and the pizzas are top quality. I love their taco pizza, but the all meat is my favorite. Nice beach view right on the seawall makes a good place to relax.

Nice, but smalll buffet. I love the salad bar, and they take requests for pizzas. Pizzas have generous toppings. New, so not many are aware of this place, so it has not been crowded the 4 times I have been there. The employees are pleasant and helpful, and they keep the salad bar and buffet full.
