Yagas has some pretty good food across the board. Surprisingly, I think this is some of the better pizza on the island. Also, grilled chicken caesar salad is a good choice. The owner of this place cares a great deal about quality control and the food shows. It probably isn’t my first choice, but if you are visiting the Galveston strand area, then give this place a try for lunch.

We had a great pizza, entrée salad and 3 large wonderful specialty drinks. Ate outside in the large patio. Everything excellent.

Came here 6⁄11 with my large family. We opted to sit outside with the birds and since I have kids it would be easier to sit out here. Staff was friendly, food came out fast and correct. Food was great. We had burgers and a meat eaters pizza. Would visit again next time we are in town.

I came here with a friend on my last night in Galveston. it was pretty busy but we still got a table right away, although our waitress looked miserable and was not friendly at all. I got the coconut shrimp which was done as a stir fry — interesting and pretty good. my friend got the Greek salad which was delicious and had a very light, yummy dressing. all in all, a good experience despite the poor service.

Love this place! I’ve been 4 times now and have gotten something different every time and everything has been really good. The shrimp burger is amazing… Not what it sounds like. You should try it! Got the salad trio too and it was really good but a HUGE portion! Crab cakes were good and pizzas are really great. Wonderful service each time too! Love the outside seating area!

Took my daughter and parents to Yagas! We had lunch outside. Great food and drinks! I had the fish tacos with fried potatoes. They had death burger, strawberry salad and portobello burger, all was awesome! Drinks were great too!

My first experience at Yaga’s was a good one. For being on the Strand the prices are surprisingly modest(starting at about $ 7 to $ 10 per person). The staff was friendly and attentive for a busy Saturday Artwalk evening. The food was good. I didn’t find anything exceptional here at my first visit but there was nothing that would keep me away either. To me Yaga’s warrants a few more visits if for no better reason then to grab a decently priced worry free meal in the heart of Galveston’s vibrant Strand district.

Great food! And good service! I was just walking down The Strand and realized I was hungry and Yaga’s was the first restaurant I saw so I stopped in. Was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food and how decent the prices were!

Unilocal reviews brought us in for lunch. The wait staff was very friendly, attentive & efficient. I ordered the strawberry cider salad with the addition of grilled shrimp(qty 5). The salad tasted great, but many un-fresh, brown spotted leaves of both iceberg & leaf greens were found in the salad. My sister chose the grilled chicken spinach salad. It came with a very generous amt. of chicken. Sadly, the chicken was dry & mealy in texture & the salad was swimming in the dressing. Cute place, but we’ll try other spots on future visits.

The Cuban Sandwhich was in a rather small portion. The service took a while even though there was almost nobody there.

Decent food. The Cuban sandwich was really small but still had great flavor. Order the specials because those dishes are the largest and honestly look like the most prepared dishes. Service was pretty slow because«they bring the food out all at once». Decent burger joint, but not food if you really want a taste of the island. Still food was pretty good.

I had the peppered shrimp which was touted as super spicy but had zero spice. The seasoning was at the bottom of the bowl and not on the shrimp. I had Cajun potatoes and sugar snap peas as my sides and it was sub par. I also ordered a voodoo vodka and it was super weak. On the bright side they do have Maui brewing company beer which is all really good.

Stopped in for lunch, this was not our first time here. My wife and I both had the Strawberry Salad, min with grille shrimp and hers with coconut shrimp. I loved mine, my wife did not care for the dressing. My son had the chicken pepperoni, a pasta dish that he liked. Service was good and friendly.

I was in Galveston this past week on a work trip. Based on several peoples recommendations I stopped in for dinner at Yagas on a Tuesday night. Granted, this Tuesday night happened to be Fat Tuesday so I don’t know how much that plays into my experience. My 2 star rating is not based on the service because it was an unusually busy night, it’s based solely on the food. I ordered the Jerk Chicken and was hugely disappointed. The rice was too dry but more importantly the chicken was also dry and flavorless. Maybe it was just an off night but I expected better.

Yagas is a great place for drinks. It’s only 5 – 7 dollars for specialty drinks that come in large goblet glasses and are filled with alcohol. Seriously, they don’t skimp on alcohol. Try the goombay smash or Bahama mama. Also, the shrimp burger is the best thing at this restaurant and is very unique. If you’re up for an adventure I would suggest trying one!

Happy hour is a good deal. Nothing special. I went here for happy hour and got the margarita pitcher. They were sweet, tasted like they got the margarita mix from Costco. But they didn’t skimp on alcohol. We also tried some food specials. The quesadilla was decent. The crab cakes were soggy a super fishy tasting :/the BBQ chicken pizza was good. Overall alright, not gross

My boyfriend heard good reviews about this place, so we had dinner here during our day trip to Galveston. First, our waitress could not make it more obvious that she hates working here. She took our orders and our food went to the table next to us because she wrote down our table number wrong. Second, our food arrived freezing cold. Third, our orders were off. When I informed the waitress about this, she stared at me and then just walked off. She did return later to fix the orders, but didn’t say a word about it. The food itself is nothing special and the portions are tiny. Prices can be high or low depending on what you order. If you order fajitas like we did, you have to pay extra for onions, cheese, and jalapenos and that’s ridiculous. Overall, we are not coming back here.

I was looking for a place to eat that was dog friendly. They had a nice little patio on the street where we could eat. As we were sitting down there was a gentleman with water for my dog! The menu was quite varied. I had the Caesar Salad, not bad but it had whole anchovies. A bit much for my taste, but next time I’ll just have them omit them. My friend had a Portabello sandwich. I’d never had one so I had a bit. Quite interesting, but I’m more a chicken fan. S next time I go I’ll try something with chicken. But the highlight was our server Caleb! Attentive and congenial. A gem to be sure. Alas, It don’t think he’ll be there long. I mean with his friendliness and work ethic he’s destined for great success in his career.

Nov 2013 — Bei 9 Grad Celsius sollte es ein Kaffee sein. «Sorry, no hot drings! «Es handelt sich hier um einen typisch amerikanischen Burger, mit Bier, Alk und Sport-TV. Burger waren ok. Zwei kleine Bier, ein Burger mit Pommes und einer kleinen Suppe für 16 US-Dollar.
