This place is located in DUMBO near the Brooklyn bridge. It is next to Grimaldi’s pizza. The décor is average and lacked atmosphere. The staff was friendly. We had a coffees and some dessert/gelato. I received the gelato free due to checking in on Unilocal! It was good and the coffee’s were OK. Overall, an average place but if you are in the area and need a coffee it is near the bridge on the river. There are some nice looking cafes down the street north walking toward the center of the iDUMBO area, but you will need to walk. Depending on your plans, this place may be more convenient.

Okay, this café is pretty nice. It is very spacious. It looks like a great place to get some work done too. However, the food was lacking. Hot Apple Cider — very good. It had a cinnamon stick in it. But it was scalding hot. I even took the lid off the cup and let it sit on the table for about 15 minutes and still burned my tongue. When it finally cooled down, I did enjoy it. Key Lime Cheesecake — so dense. The plastic spoon could barely cut through it. I’m not a fan of anything dense and definitely not a fan of dense cheesecake. I’m sure their other options are good as their menu is very large. Actually their menu is a bit too large and overwhelming for me — sandwiches, crepes, pastries, gelato Apparently you can make a reservation here. I don’t know why anyone would need to or want to though.

The worst place in the world, guy burned our crossaint, instead of getting the order right he was busy flirting with his fellow barista, the worst being they don’t know how to make a simple double espresso!!!

I’m here in NY for my first time. Being an LA native our culture for food is very eclectic. Came down to the Brooklyn Bridge and wanted to get Grimaldi’s Pizza but they had a line so big that my friend and I popped into Roomr’s Café. The best walk in experience EVER! We were greated by Kai and sat down and were givin menues right away. We had questions and Kai answered all of them. I MUSTSAYTHEBUFFALOMAC N CHEESEISOUTOFTHISWORLD!!!. Affordable prices for the traveler and a great place to have good conversations over. Quaint, humble, intimate with a friendly atmosphere. Gene the manager was very hospitable and pleasant to talk to. Definitely stop here on your visit to NY. Thank you.

Extremely slow service and bad food. Crêpe was mediocre and oatmeal was terrible. Will not be coming back here.

Worst dining experience in our week long trip to NY. Skip this place unless management makes some wholesale changes and improvements. There’s a reason why the surrounding restaurants and cafes had long lines on a Saturday, and this place didn’t. We went as a small group of 4: ordered 2 sandwiches, 1 salad and 1 crêpe plus a couple of drinks. Straightforward, right? First of all, the young male waiter in his early-20s(might be the owner’s son) needs to be better trained: from the beginning he was inattentive, awkward when asked simple questions about menu items, slow to bring our drinks, slow to bring cutlery when the food did arrive after almost half an hour(and they weren’t particularly busy) with the sandwich and cooked chicken crêpe arriving before(?) the salad — the food was overpriced and not very fresh or tasteful. The delays and bland food need to be addressed by the manager and the kitchen staff. If you’re charging more than Subway for your sandwiches, then make sure the bread and ingredients are better than(or even on par) with Subway’s standards. We wanted to get our check and leave, but the Peter Pan of a waiter was nowhere to be found(of course didn’t even follow up on us to see if we wanted anything else) so we walked up to the counter and sorted out the bill, eventually, after the girls out front found the boy and figured out what the total was. Eventually. Improve your service or hire some more experienced staff, improve the ingredients in your food, and you just MIGHT stay in business.

Great place for coffee and desert which was exactly what we were looking for when we fell in here. Great coffee in a cup you could go swimming in. $ 6 Belgian waffles which were great. Easily could have asked for double the price.

Tourist trap!!! Being a tourist, I was taken. There was no longer and the place smelled fantastic. Sure, they were making waffles! I ordered a nutella and banana waffle and in addition to the plastic tasting whipped cream, there were 8 ¼ inch slices of banana and about ½ a tablespoon of nutella. They were more than generous with the pecans, but that did not make it «good.» I also bought a couple of the awesome looking muffins for later, but they were so hard, stale and tasteless that I asked for my money back. Yuck.

This was a very bizarre experience. First of all, my friend and I ordered a couple of things at the counter and were told rather sharply that they didn’t have what we wanted. Ok, fair enough. No big deal. I ordered eggs Benedict with muffins and bacon and my pal ordered waffles with chocolate and cream and all this sweet stuff I never try. Both good. BUT. The young waiter who brought our stuff was casually drinking a bottle of Coke as he plunked our plates down. He never gave us any cutlery… Again, no big deal. I can handle this. I did go up to him as he was finishing his Coke and asked him for some cutlery, this simple request somehow translated into me asking him for his mum’s telephone number(judging by his reaction) and so he reluctantly gave me one set. I gestured to our table, three yards away, where he just served two people and kindly asked for another set. This seemed to offend him even more. Again, the food was good, but. I then ordered a coffee which wasn’t the kind I wanted, again, I can handle this, First World Problems and all that etc. Then when it came time to clear our table, a member of the kitchen staff obliged whilst muttering that the waiter wasn’t doing his job. I agreed. Then it all kicked off — The rude girl who took our order, started arguing with the young lackadaisical waiter about who should be doing what(no prizes for guessing who was in the right) then the kitchen staff had a go at him with lots of f**ks and f***kings being thrown around. His attitude was reminiscent of a 13 year old having his Xbox confiscated. I can only assume that this kid is just y’know, a renegade, too cool for this kind of stuff. Or more likely, related to the owner. And, as I left, I overheard the table next to mine politely telling him that he pretty much got everything wrong and forgot to bring their drinks. One thing is for certain, it was very memorable.

I would not return, here are the problems I had. 1. Long wait for food despite ordering a cold sandwich while the restaurant was empty. 15 minutes to prepare a sandwich. 2. When the meal arrived, the sandwich was very small, probably about half the size I would have expected. The chips served to me looked like someone had shaken the bottom of a bag onto the plate. Lots of small broken pieces. Fries were unavailable. 3. The staff were constantly swapping through songs with the music playing at full blast. Incredibly annoying. Good points were the small sandwich I received was actually pretty good, though I left hungry. My waitress was polite and did check on me to see if I needed anything.

Blah… I came here on a Saturday afternoon and I assume some people just didn’t show up for work because they were way understaffed. Drip and espresso had grounds in it but they did at least replace the drip coffee my husband ordered. Poor set up.

We stopped by here for a late lunch. It was good. Good service, quick waitress. We sat at a table in the back which was a little less formal than the front by. Noticed amazing Brooklyn pictures on the walls. The specials were yummy. I would highly recommend the place.

Rip off central. Example: a can of Sanpellegrino 11.5 oz can) is $ 5. Juices watered down rubbish. Salads tiny and stale…& service clueless. Never stepping foot again. Just suffer the line and enjoy Julianni’s pizza next door.

Party of two came to this coffee lounge for a cool down from wandering Brooklyn’s DUMBO vicinity. Oddly there are booths like a diner restaurant, but no lounge or cushion chairs resembling a very casual bar setting. Roomr hones a nice casual clean and simple setting of a Brooklyn flair with large oversize wall vintage photo sticker posters of the building and construction of Brooklyn and Manhattan bridges. Staff is very accommodating to us as upon entering the background music was playing«Hey Ya» by Outkast whom my friend was dancing solo to the musical flow. Background music is very stimulating as Rihanna, Michael Jackson and Duran Duran were played. Staff is attentive as our waiter noted where I can attain some power for my mobile phone with their hidden and very discreet electrical outlet. A Unilocal mobile check-in offer of one free single scoop of Gelatowas used in my favor. One Red Zinfandel glass $ 8.00 was very diluted with water while my friend engulfed one bottle of local Brooklyn root beer. Salads and sandwiches are their menu for light meals and savory crepes for the in-between meal time. I would surely return for their crepes, Belgian Waffles and salads as the Cobb salad is very appealing to my appetite. Note: You must request a sales receipt as the WiFi password(case sensitive) and bathroom code are written for access. The WiFi signal is strong and stable. One single unisex restroom facility is clean and ample space. When requesting my sales receipt I was given the wrong bill as the item ordered is not what my party of two consumed.

We were just strolling along the pier when we happened to see this wonderful little place that serves crepes, waffles, and vegan sandwiches. Haven’t had crepes in a while, so we went in. Glad we did! There’s a wide variety of crepes, from dessert crepes, to veggie crepes. We had the dessert crêpe and waffles, which were huge and satisfying. Mine was the caramel apple crêpe and my friend had the banana, Nutella and chocolate syrup waffle with raspberry gelato, which looked like a huge sundae. My friend has said that the gelato is what made her waffle so terrific. Perfect for satisfying your sweet tooth. Our waiter, Justin, was attentive and efficient. Prices are reasonable for such huge portions. At the time that we visited, the place was only open a week. It’s a welcome addition to this part of the pier, located on Fulton Street in DUMBO.

Mad slow. I heard someone say something about pancakes and I assumed my order was done. Whole time they had just started making them 15 minutes after I placed the order. Shouldn’t take you 15 minutes to make pancakes when this place isn’t even booming. I was the only person in line. Come on now, this place is not that busy. The pancakes were nothing fancy and the kale, apple, orange juice was okay. Almost $ 6 for the juice. Two stars for cheap pancakes($ 7 for one massive cake which should’ve been labeled as pancake) with fresh fruit.

Awesome choices for vegetarians. Organic dairy makes great addition to their great menu. All cups, plates and utensils are recycled and compostable/biodegradable materials. Since I work around the corner, I am glad that there is finally a good lunch alternative to all the pizza and fast food we have here. I finally feel like we have a place that is aiming to be a healthy breakfast/lunch café, not just a tourist trap. My better half was in the area once, so we scheduled to have lunch together. It was my turn to pick the place we go to, so we came here and had savory crepes, followed up with delicious desert and took a milkshake to go. It was a 5-star experience. My countdown is as follows: 2+ for organic produce and environmentally friendly line of supplies(THANKYOU) 1+ for diverse vegetarian options 1+ for music being a nice playlist(instead of radio) 1+ for overall clean design and polite staff

This review was suppose to be written 10÷17÷14, I never forgot about the bad experience. I walked into this establishment with high hopes to get the most basic service, just to have a meal. Instead what I got was no one at the register and a full on verbal altercation between what looked to be a older gentleman and a female. I walked to the employee behind the counter who seemed to be enjoying the scene of the drama smiling completely ignoring me. I asked if I could order and he says yes, as I begin to order with him I can see he’s paying me no mind and turns to me and says«what» and I ask are you open can I order and he just laughs and continue to enjoy the tasteless display of human indecency as I stand there. I just turn away in disgust, and still very hungry. This is seriously a sad excuse for a business. I work at Dumbo and I get a lot of people asking me where to eat and I will glady tell them to steer clear of this establishment. My boats bring in hundreds of tourist per day, their lost not mine.
