We haven’t had the food yet, but the service is slow. We missed a movie due to this. Also if you are handling food keep your hair back, away from your face & the possibility of it falling in the food. In addition don’t touch your face with your hands, then go back to making the food. That is completely unsanitary, Expecially since there were no gloves on the workers. This is something that really needs to be worked on. In addition to the speed, it took 30+ minutes to get three small sandwiches that were not heated either. I doubt I’ll bring my family back here, or recommend it to others. Subway is quicker. Ate our sandwiches, and they are nothing to write home about. Definitely won’t be going back, and will be calling the Health Department tomorrow.

Great atmosphere! Their Wednesday night karaōke is awesome. The MCs have so much energy and is just an overall great place to be! Also the bartender is such a fun guy dances to the songs. He responds fast and gives great recommendations. Definitely returning

Fantastic place, great location, good atmosphere and décor. Let’s not forget the most important thing and that is the food, it is exceptional. Generously portioned and incredible taste. Price is fair. I highly recommend the Pig Kahuna. The combo of pork, bbq and pineapple all topped with a little kick of Tabasco sets this sandwich off. Also the meatball sub you will not be disappointed with. Full bar for your cocktail lovers. However this isn’t really a «bar» it’s a nice place to just grab a few cocktails and snacks.

I have visited this place a few times. The first time, we waited 10 minutes to be acknowledged and it literally took another 10 minutes for us to get our drinks. It wasn’t packed, and I wasn’t upset because sometimes you show up on an off day. I tried again on another day after I watch a movie, and the place was busy. I sat at the little bar area and was helped right away. It was a nice nite because they had some people singing, for what I think was open mic, and I ran into some old pals from high school. My Third time, we were delayed when waiting for our drinks again, and we only ordered some sodas. But when we did order our food, that came out rather hasty. So I guess service depends on who is serving you. Food is okay, and prices are a bit high, but the place is not bad. I’d still come back.

Cute décor is the upside. The place has limited seating and fans were running on a very cold day. We waited 20 minutes for our order. Went to the counter to check on it, they said they’d bring it to our table. Waited some more, then they said it had been sitting on the counter for a long time. The music was so LOUD couldn’t hear if they called us(and they said they’d bring our order). The soda machine they directed us to was not working, has to get our drinks from the bar, so the selection was limited. The sandwiches were not good. I had the turkey and cheese which was very soggy. My husband had a barbecued chicken. The bread was rubbery and sandwich not good. Do they heat in the microwave? Less expensive places toast the bread! We ended up throwing our food away half eaten it was so bad. We won’t be eating there again. Don’t try it before a movie for a quick meal!

Hubby & I have been here several times. The food, service, & atmosphere just keep getting better! They now have $ 5 pitchers every day & last Sunday I had $ 3 pints. I’m told Wed karaōke is the place to be though we just missed it last night so I’m not speaking from personal experience. We’ve never gotten a sandwich from here that we didn’t love & the portion sizes are huge! If it’s your first time, start with the small. We tried their garlic bread«appetizer»(can’t remember the name) & it was big enough for 2 adults for dinner… and SOGOOD! If you haven’t been here yet, you should check it out.

Had the absolute worst experience here! Customer Service sucks here! No one ever greeted or said hi or Thank You! Took about 5 mins for someone to even acknowledge that we were even there. We waited about 20 mins finally got up and asked about our order they said«oh what is it? Oh someone scratched that order off». There was no sorry apology nothing! Overall very bad experience poor customer service and over priced sandwiches ! Gave it a two because the bread was good however i will never go back!!!

This joint serves up a host of sandwiches and salads that will not disappoint. It offers your typical standard deli concoctions with several different twists on the menu, such as the Pig Kahuna, and offering a bar-side of the restaurant for those who opt for a cold beer with their sandwich and chips. Service was super friendly and fast for me, granted I came in at opening on a weekday. The gentleman who took my order was extremely helpful in walking me through their menu highlights. Ingredients were very fresh and portions were generous I ordered the ‘Dude/Dudette’ size which was about four inches and I found it adequate and sensible. I would go ahead when visiting the area, but there are definitely other more unique eateries to try out.

I really wanted to like this place! I really did… buuuuut… First off, my bf and I were happily greeted which was a good sign. The man behind the counter was really friendly and was willing to assist in any questions we had. Just seemed like a happy dude! Based on looking at Unilocal,I already knew I wanted a Santa Cruz. Bf took awhile, but the cashier was patient about it. I was surprised to see that the small, a 6inch, was $ 10… yes it was a loaded sandwich, but that’s way too pricey. Then when you add the two drinks we got, it came out to $ 26. The sandwiches were good. Nothing too special in my opinion. They couldn’t stay together either… everything kept falling out. Also, the bacon in my sandwich was hard. I felt like I bit on a tooth a couple times. The cream cheese was also abysmal. It looks like a good amount from the front, but once you turn it to the side, you can see that it’s just a sliver. Be nice if they spread it out a bit. The atmosphere was alright… our table was wobbly and they blared music to the point of the speakers sounding like they were going to blow out. I don’t like«Hotline Bling» that much to begin with! I might be back… but the prices might keep away. They do have a card thing so after the 10th visit, you get a free sub, but idk. If anything, I would like to say that the service was very pleasant. I feel like a lot of these reviews say its bad, but I disagree.

After trying Beach Hut 3 times I decided to write a review based on my consensus. Service is horrible… No greeting at register; workers seem to have no customers service training at all. On my last visit I waited over 15 minutes for 3 sandwiched to-go before someone finally realized they had been ready sitting on the back counter. Keep in mind it was very slow and I was waiting for the order right in front of the register. Won’t be back simply based on customer service. Sandwiches are great, lots of meat, and quality toppings. They don’t offer a lot of healthy alternatives. A lot of sandwiches with cream cheese and bacon!

Unilocal sent me an email that I should expand off my tip for this place to reach more people with a review, so here it is: I literally live off their wedge salad. I haven’t tried a single other thing they make here, because perfection has been reached in this salad. Why would I waste my time on a sandwich when I practically have a deconstructed BLT on my plate? Some days, the regular size can feed me for 2 meals. I can only imagine what a large would do. Service can be on the slow side here, so make sure you have 10 – 15 minutes to wait for your order. On the plus side, they’re open pretty late as well. Also, the cookies are pretty delicious, they’re worth it too I suppose. But honestly, if you haven’t had the wedge salad here(with ranch or Bleu cheese dressing), you haven’t yet lived.

Moving to the Fresno area from Sacramento it was hard to leave Beach Hut Deli. I’ve been waiting for a Beach Hut to FINALLY open in the central valley. I’ve eaten at 10 or so different Beach Hut franchise locations and they’re all equally fantastic. Best sandwich spot in California? Arguably. We all know that bread really makes or break a sandwich and their bread is always top notch. The amount of food is ridiculous — and that’s why they’re a bit pricier than their competitors. I can share a small with my wife sometimes. Good vibe, good beer, casual and great for kids. Call ahead or do take-out to avoid the lines — sometimes they get busy and it can take awhile to get your sandwich made. Compared to Deli Delicious, Sequoia Sando, Subway/Togos/Quiznos…Beach Hut is a cut above. You’d think they started in So Cal but they’re actually from the Sacramento area and now have locations all over the state. Hopefully they will open more locations around Fresno/Clovis and especially one in North Fresno. Now if we can only get a Total Wine in Fresno this town just might be on the up!

Tried this place yesterday for the 1st time & was not disappointed to much. They made us the wrong sandwich but decided to keep it anyways and try it. So much meat The booths have surf boards for the tables too. They have a small bar as well. The shopping center is nice but still growing. I look forward to returning. Felt like we were not in Fresno & sometimes that’s a great thing! I recommend this place for sure!

The sandwiches here are pretty delicious. Out of all the new sandwich spots popping up in town, The Beach Hut Deli is my favorite so far. It’s a bit more on the gourmet side for the sandwiches here, which I definitely don’t have a problem with especially since they offer combinations that I tend to enjoy more(more bbq variety, pulled pork w/pineapple, etc). On my first visit, I ordered the Pig Kahuna(I recommend ordering as a small– it’s huge!) and they definitely didn’t skimp on the meat or pineapple on it. It was so big, you couldn’t really eat it as a normal sandwich, which is why they include a fork with it. Their turkey and cranberry sandwich(they call it the Beach Bikini) is delicious as well. Turkey and cranberry sauce imo is always a good combo to have, so I’m glad this place has it as a regular option. It is sold in one size, for $ 7.25 I think, so it’s kinda pricey but pretty good. Glad this place finally opened up, and they picked a perfect spot to open up at(Across Fresno State) so I’m betting this place will be pretty busy once school starts.

The sandwich I had was pretty good, it was a small BBQ sandwich with everything on it but the portions was huge, I recommend trying a small first bcuz you might not be able to finish a medium or large sandwich, a bit on the pricey side(almost $ 8) for a sandwich but the food is great, I didn’t get a chance to try out the alcoholic beverages at the bar hopefully next time but the electronic soda machine had plenty of options lol this is a great place to enjoy a nice meal before the movie starts at Maya Cinemas

This is only a happy hour review: Beach Hut Deli’s happy hour is from 6pm-Midnight! They have some great happy hour specials such as $ 3 jack and cokes, $ 4 craft/import bottles, and $ 3 Coors light pints. There are more specials that you can check out on the Facebook page. We thought that $ 3 jack and cokes would come in a lowball glass but it was served in a pint! Such an awesome deal! My friends and I already ate dinner but the food looked really good. I will have to come back and try the food. The patio area is small but nice. They have a few TVs and play chill music. This area doesn’t feel like you’re in Fresno.

I was really excited to try Beach Hut, saw it rising from the dust months ago, so decided to give it a try and ordered for takeout. Firstly I do love the unique names for the sandwiches, taste wise it was not unique or gourmet but the portions were huge(bigger than other places and I would order a small if you don’t have a huge appetite, because this place offer real huge sandwich, a small is already an 8 incher) and it was delicious, but slightly pricey in my opinion. So here is my experience, I came in an ordered the Haole Cheese Steak Sandwich Large $ 16.95 and also a small Santa Cruz(try em hot) $ 9.95. So I paid $ 30 with tax for 2 sandwiches, I felt that it was slight expensive for just sandwiches despite the size and generous portion. The first sandwich — Haole Cheese Steak was hot and delicious and I must say was my favorite, it was very big at 12 inches long and perfect to be shared between 2 people, I had it on my own, to be honest I was so stuffed when I eventually finished it. It had an almost pizza taste on the first bite probably given by the deliciously melting cheese and jalapeños. The meat was a deli meat so it was not freshly made, and was too salty for my tastebuds, but yet very soft textured and generously portioned and I mean generous, it was pouring out, I just wished they made the beef freshly in house which would give it a whole level of taste and uniqueness. The bread a sourdough tasted freshly baked and had a very soft yet firm texture, perfectly warm to hot when I ate it. I think the most unique thing about this sandwich was the huge portion of filling and the sourdough freshly made bread. The taste itself did not scream unique. The second sandwich, Santa Cruz was the smaller size(8 inch), and yet it was huge in my opinion and very generous portioned with pastrami, bacon and vegetable. Again the pastrami was not freshly made and tasted store bought, so the unique factor was gone again there. Thank god for that bread, because the texture and taste of the same sourdough used for the other sandwich saved the taste. I think santa cruz was good but it was nothing special in taste. The interior is what really makes this place unique and absurdly different. I love the beech feeling that it gives. The place had coconut leaves roof huts for each booth seats and ordering counters, surf boards were seen displayed, they also had a round beech hut bar area. The music was also giving the beech hut vibe. The place is slightly crammed and fills up real quick, so finding a seat would be priority if its your first time. The service was very pleasant, but I think front counter needs to have a more welcoming vibe, I did not get a hey welcome kinda feeling at first, its like I had to initiate, but ordering was smooth otherwise. Overall I think the staff needed better coordination and management, I saw that they had so many people behind there in the kitchen, but they took 10 minutes to prepare my sandwich, which was odd because with 8 people on staff I could get that done in 5 minutes.(I say this from experience working in the food business). Overall I love the concept and décor, the food was delicious but I have to say it did not have e unique yearning which would make me remember them for taste. Price wise was very expensive for just sandwiches despite the huge portion, but I can’t argue with their Priceline, just wanted to state my opinion.

The Beach Hut Deli is in the new center by the Save Mart Center at Fresno State, where the Maya movie theater, Mad Duck, and Cold Stone are. It’s a corner store with beachy décor, surfboard-shaped tables, thatched-roof bar, and reggae music. We had to sit outside; there wasn’t a single empty table inside. The menu has standard sandwiches and more eclectic offerings; I got the more traditional Surfin’ sandwich lettuce-wrapped. There was a ton of turkey meat, the bacon was crispy, the cream cheese and avocado added richness, and there was enough mustard/mayo to add flavor and richness. The drinks are serve-yourself from flavored soda machines(raspberry, lime, orange, etc.), and it’s convenient to eat there before a movie. Get there early to save a table. :)
