Wahoo’s Fish Tacos

I think I just found my favorite restaurant. Service was quick and friendly, all food was reasonably priced in good portions and tasted AMAZING. I usually order chicken but this time decided to try salmon and was pleasantly surprised at how moist it was. They have a condiment station next to the fountain drinks with a lot of different sauces so if you’re a Sriracha fan like me you will not be disappointed. There is plenty of seating inside and outside with many tvs. I’ll definitely be returning soon. 5 stars well deserved.

Love the enchiladas and the option to have half green and half red sauce! Good clean place. Staff friendly and food is great and fast coming.

TO THE D-​BAG THAT KEEPS FLAGGING MY WAHOO’S REVIEW: I’ll keep posting, you keep flagging. Sound fair? I went here for the first time, and it was not all that. The parking sucks b@!!5 as it is not very roomy. And the place itself, was too loud for my taste. Inside was way crowded, and unappealing to me. We had drinks out on the patio, which was okay. The employees seemed nice enough. End note: I don’t know why my review of wahoo’s keeps getting flagged, but oh well. I guess even fans of «Subway-​Jared» get all sad and hurt when they read my stuff. Lol! If you don’t like my reviews, don’t read them, simple as that.

Decided to try this place after watching a game at Fresno state. They had several options on the menu. The service was very good. I had a maui bowl and it was good. Overall, it was worth the try and I will likely go back again.

I’ve been here 2 times in the past 2 days. Recommended my coworker and he loved it. Fish tacos were really good! Will be back soon.

My wife and I came here to try the 805 beer batter fish tacos. We where very pleased with the meal. I was pleasantly surprised at how good the black beans and brown rice where. The service was very good and the place was very clean. For anyone looking to enjoy some good fish tacos I would recommend the place.

The beer battered fish taco was quite tasty. I liked the beans. The white rice tasted a little hard to me. We were very impressed with the cashier, Precious, that took our order. She enthusiastically answered our questions about the menu. She was patient as we took our time deciding. She was confident we would love whatever we ordered. I hope Wahoos recognizes what a great employee they have in her. We will return and hope to see that kind of service again!

My husband & I have been here twice now. Love it! First time was for Mon night football, we sat on the patio which is a fun vibe. Seahawks & 9ers were playing, we’re Seahawks fans so wasn’t quite sure how we’d be received but, the customers were friendly & fun to hang out with. Server was nice, friendly, & service was fast even though the place was packed. I had the 2 shrimp tacos, my hubby got the 2 chicken enchiladas… lots of food! I was only able to eat half. Tasted great! Every beer they have on tap is $ 5 pint & $ 8 pitchers, can’t beat that!
Second time we went back for Sunday morning football. Same great service, beer pricing, & the food was again excellent. Only complaint I had was they only have 4 satellites so they can’t show all of the morning games. If you want your game on, get there at 10am, right when they open or you’ll end up across the street at Buffalo Wild Wings.
I’ll def be back though!

The 805 Battered Fish Tacos are amazing! Excellent service and fun environment. Great place to bring friends and have some beers. Owner definitely knows how to run a good business. Will be coming back often!

Very basic Mexican food! I ordered chips and salsa for appetizers and they served me a bucket of chips with like 2 spoon of salsa which was not great at all. I would rather prefer a salsa jar from Walmart and have it at home with nachos. They could do much better. Then I ordered enchiladas and the sauce stink typical like that from a preserved can. I ordered bcz the menu said they have housemade sauce and I was looking forward to the hearty Mexican taste but much less to my expectation it was pathetic. The only thing I liked over there was the service I got from my server. He was really friendly and cool!

Food was not great… wasn’t that bad just meh. Customer service sucked. They messed up on my order and and left off the rice and beans… not a big deal… just bring me the rice and beans. Probably next to free to make. The girl wanted to charge me for them. I said forget it. I then spoke to the manager about it and she said that she wasn’t autherised to give away free food… really??? Rice and beans??? Ok

8 $ dollars a pitcher and the food is great. Fast service and a lot beers on tap. Sports on tv. I came here before the concert and I highly recommend.

I came here for a quick meal with my partner around lunch before a film that was being shown.
We were both highly impressed with the overall experience.
Our server Precious J. was extremely nice and professional, very enthusiastic and seemed genuinely happy to work there. Her service was very fast and courteous.
And the price of everything was high-​value: great fast service, quality food from all the major food groups, and a fair price; great for a cash-​strapped student.
The food was good, the black beans and rice tasted fresh, and my fish taco and her chicken taco had decent flavor.
Will definitely be coming back.

YUM! Workers are super nice, food is super yummy. Their service area is always pretty good. Jeff recommend to those who like modern mexican food or americanized mexican food… in other words, tex mex.

came here really by accident me & my wife were across the way about to order some food at another restaurant and noticed this location had a bunch of TVs outside with the Thursday night NFL game on lol so we got up and walked over, this place is nice inside and out we ended up getting a table outside
nothing on the menu was over $ 9 and the margaritas we ordered were $ 6, also we had the steak nachos which were pretty good, friendly staff our guy kept coming by to make sure we were ok, we sat outside and watched the game until our movie started at the Maya Cinemas Theater, cant wait to come back and watch my 49ers play and enjoy a margarita or two… or three

Had to check the new location out. Shrimp power salad was blan and shrimp had no flavor in comparison to the other wahoo location, very disappointing. My husband ordered 2fish tacos and 2shrimp tacos again the shrimp was gross but the fish was so good.
The service wasn’t all that either the register worker repeated my order back atleast 5times yet still managed to mess up on my salad and forgot our pitcher of beer. I got carded atleast 3 different times kinda got annoying.
Probably wont come back for the food maybe just for some 8 $pitchers of beer.

My husband and I came to visit for the first time for lunch and our experience was excellent. The staff was so helpful and friendly when we told them it was our first time they explained the menu to us and everything, they were also very accommodating to us after we got our food which was absolute amazing and I’m definitely getting shrimp on my nachos next time! The interior was themed very nicely and well lit from the many windows, there’s fun music playing, you can watch your favorite sports teams on their TVs, and when you bring back your reusable cup that you buy, on your next visit refills are discounted so instead of paying $ 1.99 you pay only $ 0.75 Whaaaat!!! I definitely recommend to everyone to come visit Wahoo’s Fish Tacos!

The lackluster taste of their overcooked food, coupled with ineffectual service and the failed attempt to create a surf culture décor has really disappointed my visit at this second location of the Fish Taco’s chain in Fresno/​Clovis. I was expecting a «wow» factor since this place is new (opened only 2 weeks since I visited), its only wise for a business to create a great impression earlier in the process, however this place fails completely to create a good impression. This restaurant is a fast casual restaurant with an added full service bar, the fast casual system is the order, pay and pick up style just like at chipotle. But as I mentioned they also have a full bar, where you would have a server.
Wahoo’s is by the way a chain of restaurants in California with the surf culture theme, it is however a franchise, and apparently wahoo fish tacos is managed and owned by the same people who brought cold stone to Fresno.
Lets start with the food, the supposedly main attraction of Wahoo’s. To get a good taste of this place I ordered two things on the menu so I could be fair with the taste test, first choice being the 2 fish taco’s $ 7.99, since this place is named after the dish, and secondly a salad, but instead the incompetent server (Sidney G), got me a wahoo bowl $ 7.99, I’ll get into service later on. It was my mistake to not check my order, I should have checked my order, just didn’t think they would have such vapid employees here at the front counter, and plus the server was kinda rushing and mumbling in an empty establishment (during my visit).
The fish tacos $ 7.99 was a major disappointment, there was no wow factor at all. It was basically a poorly grilled fish, that was overcooked, and lacking in portion, I couldn’t hardly see the fish at all in my tacos, and then piled on top of my fish was stone cold slaw– which made this dish cold. The dish lacked so much essential flavor of cilantro and lime– I ordered spicy to get the kick, yet no spicy taste was present at all in my dish. The brown rice and the black beans is just like the type you would get at chipotle, so nothing special there. The fish tacos had no salsa offering or anything to go with it also. (unlike places like baja fresh or don pepe, where they have a salsa bar, wahoo’s doesn’t). To be honest next time if I want fish taco’s I would just take the trouble to go to don pepe instead, for the best fish tacos in Fresno.
The wahoo bowl had the same rice and beans but this time with the difference of grilled chicken. The taste of the chicken was severely disappointing. It was severly salty, and overcooked to the point of mouth dryness. Plus the portion of the chicken was very stingy for the price. I couldn’t enjoy this dish at all, since it was terrible.
The service needs a huge improvement. My server who took my order (Sidney G) looked like she suffered of attention deficit disorder. She wasn’t paying attention to the customer while ordering, and that means little to no eye contact with the lack of interaction with the customer. While she was taking my order, she was glancing outside like I was not even there, and I dont even know what she was trying to look at (I understand if her boss called her or something, but this was none of that). Her lack of attention is the reason she got my order wrong, I ordered a wahoo salad, instead I got a wahoo bowl. I also felt like the server, spoke to fast and was mumbling and made no recommendations. Better training is needed, or better staffing.
The interior itself has a brief feel of surf culture, but in my opinion was lazily done and lacked attention to detail. The tables looks so cheap, like they bought it at a an auction that was foreclosing a Chinese restaurant. I do like the wall color, but I feel that the cheaply made poster, is in poor taste, and made me feel like they gave no attention to detail like they do with their food. a huge cork board would have given this place a more authentic surf feel, and on that cork board is the posters. The other location of Wahoo’s had better décor in my opinion, this one looks really cheap. I do however like the bar area since it looks really nicely done.
Overall I wont be back because it was just Mehhhhhh. However, Im fair and I might come back to give them a second chance to improve and redeem themselves in a month or two, and I might give rewrite my thoughts.

This is a new place that just opened up a week ago. With that being said, you can tell that everyone working there is still getting the hang of things. Maybe that’s why the other reviewer was unimpressed.
My experience was really good. The front cashier was super friendly, she explained the menu. It was around 8:00 p.m. so we decided to eat outside. The atmosphere was great, it almost feels like you’re not in Fresno anymore. I wish we would have had this place while I was still going to Fresno State.
There’s huge T. V’s outside that had the game playing, the waitresses kept coming by to check on how we were doing. We ordered two drinks that quickly arrived at our table. I was sad to see how small the margarita was but pleasantly surprised when I tasted it. They don’t skimp on their alcohol. I had the spicy fish taco and tofu enchilada. It’s really hard to find good vegetarian options in Fresno and the enchilada was delicious, dare I say even better than the taco? They actually season their tofu perfectly. I’ll definitely be coming back to try some more food.
