Hands down the best Indian food I’ve had. Great atmosphere and the food was wonderful. Our server, Bernadette was so friendly and helpful! She is great. They have a nice outdoor seating area as well. Highly recommended!

Our waitress Bernadette was very friendly knowledgable, She definitely made the experience even more enjoyable! The food is faultless, this is without a doubt the best Indian in Fredericksburg! Nice outdoor seating, private booths inside and fast service. If you’re looking for authentic and tasty Indian food, this is the place to go!

Awesome Indian beers, awesome butter chicken and chicken shahi korma, great jasmine rice, excellent attentive service, fine décor, good bread fixins(don’t know how to refer to them), good prices. We loved it. We had enough for another treat at home the next day. First timers but we will definitely give this place a second chance to make another awesome impression.

Indian food has become one of my favorites and my 14 yr. old daughter has been on a mission to expand her culinary horizons. Today we decided to try this restaurant and we both felt it was a good place to be. The food was fresh and flavorful. The gentleman running the establishment was welcoming and helpful and suggested we try the buffet to allow my daughter to try a variety of dishes to see what she likes. He could have easily have allowed me to order pricer dishes as I was prepared to do but instead we ate fro. the delicious buffet which included very good chai and added an appetizer. My daughter and I also enjoyed watching the music videos from India that played on the tv and had a great time discussing the different instruments and styles we saw. We both loved the chicken tikka and marsala and the vegetable side dishes were wonderful. We will definitely return to this restaurant regularly and appreciate the prompt and courteous service we received. I definitely recommend this restaurant.

Poor service. Had to go in and look for someone to get seated. Waited for someone to get us drinks and no one came. I had to ask for Naan; while people who came in after me got served with naan and drinks. Plates and food was scarce. For a person with an Indian background, I was disappointed in the customary service provided to me and my family. It had someone sitting next to our table who was there before us and still didn’t get what she ordered. Not to mention it’s an all you can eat before 2:30pm and the service sucked so bad that people had to pile their plates on tables next to them because the waiters won’t remove the dirty plates. Also the ground was wet or something and one of the customers fell with their food. Utmost disappointment. I won’t return.

I’ve stopped here on two separate drives down to and back from Florida and have enjoyed the food every time. However, service has been slow and spotty, though friendly. It’s also very expensive and most menu items are $ 4 – 5 more than I’m used to paying at Indian restaurants. They also serve halal meat only so if you object to meat that has been halal slaughtered, you’re better off with a vegetarian option.

Last night was my first night ordering Indian food and I tried this place due to the great reviews. I ordered for delivery the chicken tikka masala and I am extremely surprised at how delicious this was. I remember as a little girl not liking Indian food because of the spiciness. I am not a fan of spicy food(even Chipotle chicken is on the spicy side to me) but the flavor of this dish had the perfect amount of kick to it, the rice was delicious and paired perfectly. The only reason I do not give this place 5 stars is because I ordered for delivery for 3 people and the amount of rice was barely enough for me and my son. I think for the price and orders for 3 people, extra servings of rice would have been appreciated but other than that excellent spot and I can’t wait to go and dine in next time!

Wow. The food is so spectacular and the server was very good about recommending we order something different and allow him to order for us. We did and it was all very good. The Paneer 65 and Aloo Gobi Masala is delicious and the Garlic Naan with cilantro was so good. We will definitely be back again. Sorry no pics we ate everything so fast.

The best Indian buffet that I’ve ever been to. The folks in my office love it! Lots lots lots of veggies, a few types of chicken, and if you go on a Friday, some fancier proteins. They bring you free naan, which is always freshly baked for your table. Excellent food for a great price.

Indian food is my favorite… So I know what’s good, and THIS place is some of the best Indian you’ll get! The menu is huge, but my *favorite* is the Vegetarian Thaali– which comes with a samosa, naan, rice, portions of three different entrees, and a dessert! I always have enough for leftovers too. The flavors are perfect, with the right amount of spice and heat. If you’ve never tried Indian before, come here and ask the staff for a recommendation, try the thaali, or come during lunch buffet. I’ve always had great service here. Request Robin– he is very accommodating and attentive. I’m salivating on my phone right now as I write this review, go check them out NOW! You’ll thank me later.

Food was excellent. Buffet had a nice variety of items & i like that you get a choice of fresh naan or garlic naan. Service was timely & friendly. Don’t be put off by the exterior. It’s a small restaurant in a strip mall.

I love to read through other reviews before writing my own, but then I just get frustrated with people. I suppose everyone has their own opinion, but I just dont get how you can not like Taj, if you like Indian cuisine. I do agree, it is expensive for Fredericksburg, but it is totally worth it! My husband has been to India several times and while he definitely says the food there is phenomenal — he gives this a very good rating(he says 4 stars, I say 5, probably since ive never been to India) either way — we both agree its really good. The flavors are spectacular the smells excellent — I know its a bit pricey, but it is worth it.

I will start off by saying that Taj is a little on the expensive side. Now onto the food! I love Indian food and lately have been craving it at least twice a week. I normally always go to Guru but decided to finally try Taj after 2 years of living in the area. I ordered the Butter Chicken and the Curry Chicken with Garlic Naan. The butter chicken was actually pretty tasty. It was creamy with a kick from the spices. This was the first time I had ever had butter chicken with a bit of a spicy taste. It was good though. Now the curry chicken on the other hand was just ok. The curry sauce was a little watery for me. I’m use to a little thicker of a sauce, but it was alright. The Garlic Naan completed the meal well. Can honestly say this was the best Naan I had ever tasted from an Indian place. Overall the food was good but expensive. For 2 dishes, raita, and naan it was $ 44.00 and some change. Each order of chicken was $ 16.99. I can go to Guru and get an order for half the price. Most likely I won’t be back because they are expensive and considering guru has good butter chicken as well, I’ll just keep going there. Also Taj’s raita was absolutely awful, and I love raita on my food. Guru definitely has better raita. Taj’s raita looks like runny mayo with carrots in it –_-.
